Instead, the Trump Administration announced it will recognize June as Title IX Month, commemorating women and celebrating their struggle for, and achievement of, equal educational opportunity.Denton, Texas, Mayor Gerard Hudspeth declined to issue a Pride Month proclamation this year, prompting local group Pridenton to turn its planned celebration into a protest. Several City Council members voiced support during the meeting, while Pridenton leaders said the mayors refusal contributes to a climate of fear for LGBTQ+ residents.Ohio Democrats have introduced new legislation to protect LGBTQ+ rights, including a push to codify marriage equality, support LGBTQ+ youth and parents, and formally recognize love makes a family. Lawmakers say the bills counter rising anti-LGBTQ+ efforts across the state.Supreme Court case U.S. v. Skrmetti challenging Tennessees ban on gender-affirming care for minors could impact trans rights nationwide. Advocates warn that even in states like Michigan, current protections arent guaranteed and could be rolled back depending on the outcome. A decision is expected in June.The Navy is preparing to rename the USNS Harvey Milk, a move ordered by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and first reported byMilitary.com.
