Police arrest anti-LGBTQ+ pastor suspected of murdering pro-equality Democratic politician
Vance Boelter, the 57-year-old anti-LGBTQ+ evangelical Christian accused of killing a pro-LGBTQ+ Minnesota state Democratic lawmaker and her husband over the weekend, has finally been arrested after an intense manhunt and will face four charges of second-degree murder. Boelter, who recently delivered an anti-LGBTQ+ sermon in Africa, allegedly impersonated a police officer before killing the states now-deceased state House Speaker Melissa Hortman (D) and her husband and allegedly shooting state Sen. John Hoffman (D) and his wife on Saturday morning. Police arrested Boelter on Sunday night in the woods of Sibley County using surveillance drones and infrared technology to detect him, CNN reported. They found at least three AK-47 assault rifles, a 9-millimeter handgun in the suspects vehicle, along with a suspected hit list of 70 individuals, including Democratic lawmakers and supporters of reproductive choice and other liberal causes, The Washington Post reported.
