However, critics have noted that Trumps intelligence officials have claimed that Iran lacked the capability to do so, that Trump himself withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in 2018 (despite it being established purely to prevent Iranian nuclear ambitions), and that post-attack reports have contradicted Trumps claims that the weekend strikes completely obliterated Irans nuclear refinement capabilities.
