Jasmine Crockett slams hypocrite Trump over shady way Melania got her visa: The math aint mathin'
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) eviscerated the GOP for holding a House hearing on restoring integrity in the visa processdespite the fact that the party-endorsed Trump administration has been terrorizing immigrants even when they follow the law. She also accused Donald and Melania Trump of hypocrisy, considering the shady way Melania, who is from Slovenia, seems to have obtained her own visa. Related Trumps abandonment of the fight against HIV comes as researchers say theyre on the cusp of victory Were moving backwards at warp speed, said one research scientist. Its interesting that were being accused of wanting all kinds of criminals to be on the streets or that we dont believe that people should show up to their meetings and appointments, Crockett said. Last time I checked, theres a lot of people that are actually being grabbed as they are going in for their appointments. And while we are supposed to be talking about visas, somehow we continue to cherry pick and talk about one criminal act and another criminal act.She said the administration is spreading xenophobia by perpetuating the idea that anyone from a foreign country is some kind of criminal when the vast majority of them are coming here because they are actually seeking a better life. She called it a joke that the president and the Republican party are claiming they want to restore integrity in the visa process. Integrity is not snatching lawful visa holders off the streets and throwing them into unmarked vans. Integrity is not revoking visas based on social media posts that hurt somebodys little feelings We have a thing called free speech in this country.Crockett was referring to the fact that the Department of Homeland Security, headed by Kristi Noem, has been ignoring due process and essentially kidnapping immigrants from their jobs, visa appointments, and court dates. Immigrants have been ruthlessly targeted by the U.S. for mass deportation under the Alien Enemies Act, a 1798 law used to deport foreign hostile agents from the U.S. during times of declared conflict without any court hearings. Congress is the only governmental body that can legally declare that the U.S. is in an active conflict, and it has not done so. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has also considered monitoring social media for immigrants who say negative things about the agency. Some have also claimed they have been denied entry to the United States for saying negative things about Donald Trump or the administration.Crockett then brought up the suspicious fact that Melania Trump obtained an EB-1 visa, often called an Einstein Visa, which she explained is provided to people who have some sort of significant achievement, like being awarded a Nobel Peace Prize or a Pulitzer; being an Olympic medalist; or having other sustained extraordinary abilities and success in sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics. Last time I checked, she continued, the first lady had none of those accolades under her belt. It doesnt take an Einstein to see that the math aint mathin here.Crockett is known for being an outspoken member of Congress and has risen as a critical voice in holding the Trump administration accountable for its actions and lies. Also this week, Crockett tore down a Republican Congressmans claim that the presidents approval rating is soaring during a House DOGE Subcommittee hearing chaired by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).During the hearing, Crockett also scorned Republicans for claiming to care about Americans when in reality, Their agenda is about one thing: making the federal government so weak that they can exploit it for their personal gain.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.
