JK Rowling praises news host for insulting trans people live on air
BBC Host Martine Croxall has been praised in anti-trans circles for her so-called heroic moment of changing the phrase pregnant people to pregnant women during a live broadcast. I have a new favourite BBC presenter, wrote increasingly vicious anti-trans bully JK Rowling, along with the clip of Croxall reading pregnant people from the teleprompter while discussing those at elevated risk in a heat wave and then immediately correcting it to women. When she made the change, she emphasized the word and widened her eyes, visibly annoyed that the study she was quoting used people to be inclusive to those who are pregnant who do not identify as women. A huge thank you to everyone who has chosen to follow me today for whatever reason. Its been quite a ride she wrote in a separate X post, with her own followers also positioning her as some sort of hero for women. I hate living on terf island, the user wrote, where broadcasters literally go against their journalistic integrity by changing a QUOTE mid-air because they are threatened by inclusive language. Rowling posted a screenshot of the comment and wrote, I love living on TERF island, where a female journalist demonstrates true journalistic integrity by speaking the truth about biological reality rather than parroting ideological language imposed on her from above. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 23, 2025Rowling has been especially busy tearing down trans people over the past week. Last Saturday, for example, she encouraged random people in the United Kingdom to photograph people in womens restrooms just in case they are transgender (in the U.K., it is illegal to photograph people in restrooms). In response, freelance columnist Darryl Mottwrote on Bluesky, In case you cant tell what just happened, JK Rowling instructed her followers to take photos of anyone in a womens restroom who doesnt match their idea of Western feminine beauty standards. Short hair? Thick cheekbones/jaw? Too tall or broad-shouldered? Youre now a man and will be harassed.Rowlings advice is likely to empower others to harass all sorts of women in public restrooms, whether theyre transgender or not so much for protecting girls and womens safety, privacy, and dignity.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.
