It's a David Archuleta summer!The queer singer is living his best life by performing at a slew of Pride events and releasing powerful new songs that resonates with many people in the LGBTQ+ community.After bravely coming out in 2021 following a tough journey figuring out his sexuality as a practicing Mormon, Archuleta is feeling more comfortable in his skin than ever before."It's cool to see that I've found my way of being part of the queer community. I wanted to get in touch with my flirty and sexier side of David. The fear of homophobia has been hushed the more I've spoken up about it," Archuleta tells PRIDE. See on Instagram Although the handsome singer has an extra pep in his step, the star is dealing with struggles that many queer people face."I feel like a lot of queer people can relate to the perfectionistic mentality where we get obsessive just like I did with my religion. I think we hold too much judgement for ourselves and for other people."Archuleta is starting to show more skin online and on stage in some sexy crop tops, but it's a slow process that he's becoming more comfortable with over time."I've never had visible abs. I've never really liked showing my stomach, but I'm excited [to show more skin]! It's a sexy, nerdy vibe that I like to put in my shows sometimes."Coming out and embracing one's queerness is no easy task, so Archuleta is encouraging everyone to look into connecting with a therapist on BetterHelp to help navigate all of the challenges that may come up."Therapy has been a big part of my journey.
