SPORTS.YAHOO.COMEverything Houston Texans OT Aireontae Ersery said following Day 2 of minicampHere's everything Houston Texans offensive tackle Aireontae Ersery said following Day 2 of minicamp, including his growth from Year 1 to Year 2 and his relationship with Pro Bowl quarterback C.J. Stroud. Question: On what areas he believes he has improved the mostAireontaeErsery: “When I get asked that question by my teammates, some of my coaches and I tell them it's confidence. It’s also just getting my strength back because last year, it was like the longest year. It really was. When people say it's the longest year, it really is the longest year that you probably ever have to go through. Dealing with little bugs and injuries during the combine and the Senior Bowl, my main focus was really getting my power back, getting deep in my playbook and just bringing the young guys, whoever came in, bringing them along.”Q: On the potential of this year’s offensive lineErsery: “I think the sky's the limit. Last year was last year. We put that to bed already. We are more focused on what this unit can do and what this unit can be. I think our unit can be very, very special, led by Cole [Popovich]. I think it all kind of trickles down. We have young guys flying around, making plays, wanting to hit people in the mouth. I know a couple guys probably mentioned it, [Head Coach] DeMeco [Ryans] pulling the offensive line back, which typically doesn't happen. It's usually on the defensive side. It's been refreshing.”On the competitiveness at practice with the defense“Every day it's a battle that I love. I love going up against those guys. We just got [DE] Danielle [Hunter] back yesterday. I know every day before I even hit the practice field that I have to bring that mentality. I have to come up there on my ‘A game’ because [DE] Will [Anderson Jr.] only know one speed and I have to match his tempo. We both have to get each other better.”Q: On how he would describe the growth between the offense this season compared to last yearErsery: “I think it starts with the quarterback. C.J.has done an unbelievable job this offseason during his OTAs of just taking control. We remind him this is your offensive line, you take control of whatever you need us to do, we will do it. Then it just gets passed down. We have guys communicating across the line, making sure that we're playing fast. That's the thing. That's the advantage that we want to have, is play fast.”Q: On who is stepping up as a vocal leader on the offensive line this seasonErsery: “We have multiple guys on the offensive line. The biggest thing with leadership is that you have to be consistent. And that comes with time, consistency and proof. Every day you have to show up and be the same guy every day. We have several guys, including me, including other guys on the offensive line, [C] Jake [Andrews], [G] Wyatt Teller, even Rutledge, a good young guy. I would say anybody can step up.”Q: On thoughts on G Wyatt TellerErsery: “I think the sky's the limit for him. He's tough, smart, physical football player. Plays the Houston Texans' brand of football. So far, he has done a great job switching positions, playing center. I'm excited for him in the future.”Q: On what he has noticed in year two of Offensive Coordinator Nick Caley’s offensive schemeErsery: “I think it's just a lot of calmness going on, a lot of over-communicating, making sure guys are at the right spot because that's what it all comes down to. Last year, we had-- feeling like these guys not set. I feel like this year we've done a great job of everybody getting set, everybody doing their job and so that we can play fast and we can roll on to training camp and roll it on to the season.”Q: On what he has seen from RB David Montgomery and the offensive line for run blockingErsery: “Coming from Detroit, I think he comes in as a tough running back. Woody [Marks] as well. He’s talented as well, played against Woody in college, probably mentioned that before, but I'm excited. I watched '32’ from afar and to be able to play with him, his footwork is super crisp, he's a leader. You can see he's out there picking stuff up easily. As I said, I'm excited for this team.”This article originally appeared on Texans Wire: Texans: Everything OT Aireontae Ersery said following Day 2 of minicamp0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 45 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COM4 standouts from Day 2 of Chicago Bears minicampDay 2 of Chicago Bears minicamp came and went on Wednesday, and it was once again another hot and humid practice up at Halas Hall. Head coach Ben Johnson had his squad outdoors getting work in as both the offense and defense came away with big highlights throughout the day. Here were the standouts from the second day of Bears practice:1. QB Caleb WilliamsTuesday wasn't the sharpest day for quarterback Caleb Williams as minicamp began, but he responded with a much better outing on Wednesday. Williams had a few sharp throws in practice, the best one being a touchdown pass to wide receiver Kalif Raymond. As Herb Howard of the Bigs Media puts it, Williams made a "physics-defying" pass to his left with his body going the other way to Raymond. He also made a nice throw to tight end Colston Loveland on an out route, according to CHGO's Mark Carman.2. S Coby BryantThe Bears' prized free agent acquisition made his presence felt in practice on Wednesday. Safety Coby Bryant came away with an interception off Williams when he stepped in front of wide receiver Jahdae Walker to make a nice hands catch. Bryant went the other way with the ball before sliding down in the middle of the field. Bryant is still getting acclimated to a new-look secondary, but he seems to be off to a good start going against the offense..@_CobyBryant_ fitting right in 😏 pic.twitter.com/DGUwMmyb1b— Chicago Bears (@ChicagoBears) June 10, 20263. DE Dayo OdeyingboOn Wednesday, Ben Johnson called Dayo Odeyingbo's participation in minicamp a "bonus" since he's still recovering from his torn Achilles suffered in early November last season. It sounds like his recovery is going even better than we initially thought. Odeyingbo has been active in team drills this week, but Herb Howard noticed he looks "fully back" with his get-off and ability to bend around the edge. Time will tell if Odeyingbo can live up to the lucrative contract he signed last offseason considering he was a disappointment while on the field, but this is a great sign for his availability going into training camp and the start of the regular season.4. WR Scotty MillerVeteran receiver Scotty Miller latched onto the Bears back in May when he earned a roster spot during a tryout, and he's doing what he can to show he deserves to stick around when the regular season gets underway. Miller made one of the better catches on Wednesday when he hauled in a deep ball from quarterback Case Keenum while working with the third-string offense, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin. Miller's reps with the first-team offense may be limited, but perhaps he can develop a connection with Keenum when training camp rolls around. This article originally appeared on Bears Wire: Chicago Bears minicamp: Standouts from Day 2 practice0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 45 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMKalif Raymond opens up on why Chicago was a destination spot for himThe Chicago Bears lost three veteran wide receivers this offseason -- DJ Moore, Olamide Zaccheaus and Devin Duvernay -- and signed former Detroit Lions wideout Kalif Raymond to fill the void behind Rome Odunze Luther Burden III.Raymond spent time with Ben Johnson during their run with the Detroit Lions, when the Chicago head coach served as Detroit's offensive coordinator. Raymond will bring a veteran presence to a young wide receiver room that is led by Rome Odunze and Luther Burden, while also adding in his experience on special teams, specifically as a punt returner where he had plenty of success in Detroit. This week at minicamp, Raymond detailed what led him to reunite with his former coordinator in Chicago, and why the Bears were a much sought after destination in free agency."Listen if you've seen the way Ben works, to be able to be near him, to work with him, work for him, and all that stuff, man, it's a blessing," Raymond said. "But especially in free agency, a lot of that stuff, you don't really know what's coming. You ask my agent like, ‘Hey man, I just want to play football’, the rest of the stuff is kind of like you let it go. But to be here with him, to have been with him is a blessing in all respects. So, I was very excited and very thankful that I had the opportunity to come play with him and play for him."While he may have initially been brought in for offensive depth and special teams, Raymond could find himself with a bigger role than thought in Johnson's offense, given the familiarity they have with one another. Chicago's receiving core has two highly talented young players in Odunze and Burden, but there's no denying the need for a veteran to step up when needed. And reuniting with Johnson could mean more opportunities for a player who just wanted to play football coming into the 2026 season.Follow Bears Wire on Twitter, Facebook and InstagramThis article originally appeared on Bears Wire: Kalif Raymond opens up on why Chicago was a destination spot for him0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 45 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMWorld Cup 2026 Group E Winner: Odds, Predictions & Best BetsWorld Cup 2026 Group E Winner: Odds, Predictions & Best BetsKey Group InformationTeams: Germany, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, CuracaoVenues: Houston, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Toronto, New York/New Jersey (East Rutherford)Group Stage Dates: 14 June 2026 – 25 June 2026Qualification Rule: Top two advance automatically; best four third-place sides also progressTV/Streaming (UK): BBC iPlayer / ITVXGroup E BreakdownGermany headline Group E as one of the heaviest favourites of any group at the 2026 World Cup, priced at 8/15 to top the section. Four-time World Cup winners, they arrive with a perfect five-win run across their last five matches and return to the tournament following back-to-back group-stage exits in 2018 and 2022 that left a significant dent in their reputation. Expect a motivated side with a point to prove.Ecuador and Ivory Coast offer the most credible threats for second place. Ecuador come in as the second-shortest price at 7/2, booking a fifth World Cup appearance through CONMEBOL qualifying, while Ivory Coast make a long-awaited return after missing both the 2018 and 2022 tournaments. Their 2026 qualification ended a 12-year absence, and at 6/1 they represent the most intriguing pricing in the group.Curacao are the story of the group from a historic perspective. They are making their first ever World Cup finals appearance in 2026, becoming one of the smallest nations ever to reach the tournament. They came through the CONCACAF playoff route and are priced accordingly at 189/1 to win the group, though their presence guarantees a unique occasion for a nation still writing its football history. Our Pick: Germany to Win Group EGermany are the clear selection to top Group E. Five wins from five in recent form, a qualifying record of five wins and one defeat from six matches, and 16 goals scored in that qualifying phase leave the argument well supported. The 8/15 price reflects the strength of a squad that has the firepower to dominate each of the other three sides.Their back-to-back early exits in 2018 and 2022 have clearly shaped the mentality of the current group, and the signs in qualifying point firmly to a team that has rediscovered its consistency. Against opponents of this calibre at group stage, Germany are expected to advance comfortably as group winners.Betfred5.0Welcome BonusBet and Get New Bettor Bonus of £50 in Free Bets BET NOWGermanyGermany have lifted the World Cup trophy four times and are appearing at their 21st World Cup in 2026. Their qualifying campaign was commanding: five wins, one defeat, 16 goals scored and only three conceded across six matches. That 13-goal difference tells the story of a side that has been clinical at both ends of the pitch in the build-up to the tournament. The group-stage exits of 2018 and 2022 have been a persistent reference point, but the current squad has shown a different character in qualifying. Five consecutive wins heading into the tournament represent a genuine upturn in form, and with fixtures against Ecuador and Ivory Coast to navigate alongside the more straightforward opener against Curacao, Germany have the schedule to build momentum early.EcuadorEcuador arrive at a fifth World Cup having qualified through CONMEBOL, one of the most competitive qualifying routes in international football. Their qualifying record of two wins and four draws from six matches reflects a side that has been difficult to beat, conceding just one goal in that period, though a run of four draws from their last five outings suggests a team that struggles to convert defensive solidity into victories.Their historical best at a World Cup finals was a round-of-16 appearance, and at 7/2 for the group they are valued as a genuine contender for second place. The fixture against Ivory Coast on 14 June in Philadelphia shapes up as the defining match for their qualification ambitions. A side that does not concede is hard to dismiss, even if their attacking production remains modest.Ivory CoastIvory Coast return to the World Cup for the first time since 2014, ending a 12-year absence with an impressive qualifying campaign: five wins and one draw from six matches, 13 goals scored and none conceded. That unbeaten record and that goal difference put them alongside Germany as the standout qualifiers in the group on paper. They have appeared at three previous World Cups (2006, 2010, 2014) without advancing beyond the group stage, and the narrative around this squad is one of a golden generation replaced by a newer core hungry to go further. At 6/1 to win the group, Ivory Coast are the value proposition in Group E if Germany have an off day and the Africa Cup of Nations winners can hit form at the right moment. Their clash with Germany in Toronto on 20 June could define whether this group is a contest or a formality.CuracaoCuracao’s presence at the 2026 World Cup is historic. Never before have they, or the earlier Dutch Antilles configuration, reached the finals. They secured their place through the CONCACAF playoff route, finishing their qualifying campaign with five wins and three draws from eight matches – an unbeaten record that underlines their quality at regional level.Arriving at a first World Cup against Germany, Ivory Coast and Ecuador is an enormous step up, and the 189/1 price reflects the scale of that challenge honestly. Their recent five-match form of one win, two draws and two defeats confirms the gulf in class they face. The achievement itself is the headline; the results will be a secondary concern for a nation celebrating a landmark moment in its football history.Group E Schedule and Fixtures14 June 2026 Germany vs Curacao – Houston, 12:00 (UTC-5) Ivory Coast vs Ecuador – Philadelphia, 19:00 (UTC-4)20 June 2026 Germany vs Ivory Coast – Toronto, 16:00 (UTC-4) Ecuador vs Curacao – Kansas City, 19:00 (UTC-5)25 June 2026 Curacao vs Ivory Coast – Philadelphia, 16:00 (UTC-4) Ecuador vs Germany – New York/New Jersey (East Rutherford), 16:00 (UTC-4)Head-to-Head History and TrendsWorld Cup head-to-head history between these four nations is largely non-existent. Curacao, as debutants, have no prior World Cup meetings with any of Germany, Ivory Coast or Ecuador. Ivory Coast and Ecuador have not met at a World Cup before 2026, and there is no documented prior finals meeting between Germany and either of their non-European group opponents here. What the records do offer is a contrast in styles. Germany have a long history of navigating mixed group draws, their deep World Cup runs built on the ability to grind results when the occasion demands. Ecuador’s qualifying record suggests a compact, low-conceding outfit that will not be opened up easily. Ivory Coast’s perfect qualifying defensive record – 13 goals scored, none conceded – is the most eye-catching statistical statement in the group behind Germany’s own impressive numbers.Must-Watch Game in Group EGermany vs Ivory Coast in Toronto on 20 June is the fixture that will most likely determine the shape of Group E. By that point, both sides are expected to have opened with victories, setting up a direct confrontation that could settle the question of who finishes top. Ivory Coast’s qualifying record – five wins, one draw, no defeats and a 13-goal difference – makes them the only side in the group with the statistical credentials to push Germany.A victory for Ivory Coast would open up the group considerably and make their 6/1 price look generous in hindsight. Germany, motivated by two successive group-stage exits, will be eager to make a statement against credible opposition. This is the game to watch in Group E, and potentially one of the more compelling group-stage fixtures of the entire tournament.Best Bets and Expert PicksGroup E Winner: Germany – 8/15 Five wins from five in current form, a 13-goal difference in qualifying, and a schedule that opens against the group’s debutants. Germany are overwhelming favourites to win Group E and the evidence supports that assessment firmly. While the price is short, the case for backing them at the top of the group is difficult to argue against. Also to Qualify (Top 2): Ivory Coast – 6/1 Ivory Coast’s qualifying campaign was spotless: five wins, one draw, 13 goals scored and none conceded. That is the kind of defensive record that does not arrive by accident. At 6/1 to win the group they represent the clearest value in the market, and even if they finish second behind Germany, their route to the knockout stage looks well within reach. Ecuador’s four draws from five recent matches suggests Ivory Coast have the edge in terms of attacking intent and qualifying momentum.Betfred5.0Welcome BonusBet and Get New Bettor Bonus of £50 in Free Bets BET NOWHighbet 4.9Welcome BonusBet £10 and Get a £20 Free Bet BET NOWParimatch4.8Welcome BonusSports Welcome Offer Bet and Get for a £20 Free Bet BET NOWHow to Watch and Where to BetHow to WatchAll Group E matches will be available to watch in the UK on BBC iPlayer and ITVX, with coverage split across both broadcasters throughout the group stage. How to BetGroup E outright markets are available across all leading UK operators ahead of the opening fixtures on 14 June.Open an account with a licensed UK operator regulated by the Gambling Commission.Complete identity verification as required.Make a deposit using your preferred payment method.Navigate to the Football or World Cup 2026 section.Select the Group E Winner market.Choose your selection from the available options.Enter your stake and review your potential returns.Confirm the bet and retain your receipt for reference.Responsible GamblingGambling should always be approached as entertainment, not as a source of income. Canada enter as co-hosts alongside the United States and Mexico, bringing with them home advantage and genuine excitement, but also a record of two previous World Cup campaigns ending at the group stage without a single win across six matches.Bosnia and Herzegovina return to the World Cup for only their second appearance after debuting in 2014. They earned their place through the UEFA playoff route, memorably eliminating four-time world champions Italy on penalties to book their ticket. Qatar, meanwhile, are at back-to-back World Cups after hosting the 2022 edition, where they exited the group stage with three defeats and one goal scored. Their route to 2026 came through Asian qualifying rather than any host nation automatic berth.Switzerland, who qualified automatically from UEFA, arrive as the group’s most accomplished side by some distance. None of the other three sides can match that pedigree at this level.Canada are the most plausible challengers, but their recent form of one win, four draws and no losses in their last five is a concern. Drawing games in the build-up to a major tournament suggests a side still finding their best level rather than one ready to top a group. Bosnia and Herzegovina’s route through the playoffs was impressive, but they face a difficult opener against Canada before meeting Switzerland. Qatar’s group stage record in 2022, three defeats and one goal, makes them genuine outsiders. At 4/5, Switzerland are short but justified. The value in this group is likely elsewhere for those looking to back the outright winner at bigger prices, but for confidence of selection, Switzerland are the clear recommendation.Betfred5.0Welcome BonusBet and Get New Bettor Bonus of £50 in Free Bets BET NOWSwitzerlandSwitzerland are among the most consistent sides in European football at qualifying for major tournaments, and their record in this group’s qualification phase reflects that. Four wins and two draws from six matches, scoring 14 times and conceding just twice, underline why they are clear favourites in the World Cup Group B odds market.Tactically, Switzerland are well-organised, difficult to break down, and dangerous on the counter. They have experience throughout their squad from club football at the highest level in Europe, and their manager will have a settled group to work with. Their three Group B matches span the western coast of North America, with games in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Vancouver.CanadaCanada arrive at the 2026 World Cup as co-hosts, giving them the rare advantage of playing two of their three group matches on home soil. The Toronto opener against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the final matchday fixture against Switzerland in Vancouver both carry enormous significance for a nation eager to make history on their own turf.Yet the weight of expectation cuts both ways. Canada have never won a World Cup match in two previous appearances (1986 and 2022), and their recent run of one win and four draws in their last five outings suggests they are a side that struggles to convert possession and opportunities into victories. At 2/1 to win the group, Canada represent a speculative option rather than a solid pick, though qualifying in second place is far from out of reach.Bosnia and HerzegovinaBosnia and Herzegovina’s path to the 2026 World Cup is one of the stories of the qualifying cycle. Navigating the UEFA playoff and eliminating Italy on penalties to reach the finals showed resilience and tactical maturity. Their qualifying record of five wins, four draws and one defeat from 10 matches, with 19 goals scored and nine conceded, points to a competitive side. This is only their second World Cup appearance after 2014, when they recorded one win in the group stage before exiting. Recent form of two wins and three draws from their last five matches shows they are unbeaten heading into the tournament. A genuine run to the knockout phase is possible if they can handle the pressure of their Group B opener against Canada in Toronto. At 8/1 to win the group, their ceiling is limited against Switzerland, but second place is a realistic ambition.QatarQatar’s 2022 World Cup debut as hosts ended with three defeats, one draw and one goal scored across the group stage, making them one of the least productive sides in recent tournament history. Their return to the finals in 2026 via Asian qualifying, recording three wins, one draw and two defeats from six matches, represents modest improvement but not enough to inspire confidence in this group.Recent form of one win, one draw and three defeats from their last five matches confirms Qatar as clear underdogs. At 64/1 to win Group B, the market reflects their prospects accurately. Their best-case scenario is accumulating points against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Seattle and hoping results elsewhere conspire in their favour, but a group stage exit is the expected outcome.Group B Schedule and FixturesMatchday 2 – 12 June 2026Canada vs Bosnia and Herzegovina – Toronto, 15:00 UTC-4Matchday 3 – 13 June 2026Qatar vs Switzerland – San Francisco Bay Area (Santa Clara), 12:00 UTC-7Matchday 8 – 18 June 2026Switzerland vs Bosnia and Herzegovina – Los Angeles (Inglewood), 12:00 UTC-7Canada vs Qatar – Vancouver, 15:00 UTC-7Matchday 14 – 24 June 2026Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Qatar – Seattle, 12:00 UTC-7Switzerland vs Canada – Vancouver, 12:00 UTC-7Head-to-Head History and TrendsOne of the striking features of the World Cup 2026 Group B analysis is the complete absence of prior World Cup meetings between any of these four sides. Switzerland, Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Qatar have never faced one another at a World Cup finals, meaning every fixture in this group represents a first-time encounter on the global stage.Bosnia and Herzegovina debuted at the 2014 World Cup and Canada returned to the tournament only in 2022, while Qatar made their debut as hosts in 2022. The lack of historical data between these teams makes head-to-head trends largely irrelevant here. Form, squad quality, and tactical profiles must carry the analytical weight in the absence of prior finals meetings.Must-Watch Game in Group BThe final matchday fixture between Switzerland and Canada in Vancouver on 24 June is the game most likely to determine the Group B winner. If Switzerland have already built a healthy points tally, they will look to protect their status and secure top spot. Canada, playing in front of a home crowd at BC Place, will be desperate to qualify and may need a result against the group favourites to guarantee their progression.A win for Canada in that match could reshape the group entirely and would represent one of the tournament’s early upsets. Switzerland’s World Cup Group B odds reflect the expectation they will handle that pressure, but the Vancouver atmosphere and Canada’s home advantage make it a genuinely compelling encounter. The opening match, Canada vs Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto on 12 June, is also critical, effectively setting the tone for which of those two sides will pursue second place.World Cup 2026 Group B Best BetsBest Bet: Switzerland to Win Group B – 4/5 Switzerland posted the most commanding qualifying record in this group, winning four of six matches, drawing the other two, and conceding only twice. Their experience at major tournaments and structural organisation make them a near-certainty to progress as group winners. The 4/5 price is short, but the case for backing them is straightforward.Each-Way Pick / To Qualify: Canada to Qualify from Group B (Top 2) – 2/1 (to win the group) Canada’s home advantage across two of their three group matches is a meaningful edge in a group where Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar are both beatable. Their unbeaten last-five record, one win and four draws, suggests they are hard to break down even if they lack a cutting edge. Qualifying in second place behind Switzerland looks the likeliest route, and backing them to progress from the group is worth considering at available prices, particularly with home support in Toronto and Vancouver.Betfred5.0Welcome BonusBet and Get New Bettor Bonus of £50 in Free Bets BET NOWHighbet 4.9Welcome BonusBet £10 and Get a £20 Free Bet BET NOWParimatch4.8Welcome BonusSports Welcome Offer Bet and Get for a £20 Free Bet BET NOWHow to Watch and Where to BetAll World Cup 2026 Group B matches are available to watch free in the United Kingdom via BBC iPlayer and ITVX, with coverage split across both broadcasters throughout the group stage. For those looking to place a bet on the World Cup 2026 Group B outright market or any of the individual fixtures, leading operators offer competitive prices across all selections. SPORTS.YAHOO.COMWorld Cup 2026 Group F Winner: Odds, Predictions & Best BetsWorld Cup 2026 Group F Winner: Odds, Predictions & Best BetsGroup F at the 2026 FIFA World Cup brings together the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, and Tunisia, with matches spread across Dallas (Arlington), Houston, Kansas City, and Monterrey (Guadalupe).Competing teams: Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, TunisiaHost cities: Dallas (Arlington), Houston, Kansas City, Monterrey (Guadalupe)First fixtures: 14 June 2026Final matchday: 25 June 2026Qualification rule: Top two teams advance automatically; the best four third-place teams from all groups also progress to the Round of 32TV/Streaming: BBC iPlayer / ITVXWorld Cup 2026 Group F: The BreakdownThe Netherlands arrive as the clear group favourites and are making their 12th World Cup appearance. Their best tournament finishes have come as runners-up in 1974, 1978, and 2010, and they carry genuine pedigree into this campaign. An unbeaten qualifying campaign, which culminated in a 4-0 win over Lithuania, underlines why they are considered the standout side in Group F.Japan are at the World Cup for the eighth consecutive time and enter in exceptional recent form. Their best tournament finish is the Round of 16, reached in 2002, 2010, 2018, and 2022, and they will be targeting that stage again at minimum. Sweden, appearing at their 13th World Cup, are the dark horse, with a historic best finish of runners-up in 1958. Tunisia, meanwhile, are at their seventh World Cup but have never progressed beyond the group stage. On paper this is a two-horse race for top spot, with Sweden and Tunisia expected to battle for the second automatic qualification place. However, the group stage rarely runs smoothly, and Japan’s current form makes them a genuine threat to the Netherlands’ top-spot ambitions. Our Pick: World Cup 2026 Group F PredictionsThe Netherlands are the selection to win Group F at 5/6. Their qualifying record of six wins and two draws from eight matches, with 27 goals scored and only four conceded, reflects a side with both depth and quality. Even accounting for Japan’s excellent recent form, the Dutch have the squad to handle the pressure of a group opener and manage results across the three matchdays. At just under evens, the price reflects the reality of this group.Best Bet – Netherlands to win Group F – 5/6Each-Way Pick – Japan to qualify from Group F – 5/2Highbet 5.0Welcome BonusBet £10 and Get a £20 Free Bet BET NOWGroup F Team ProfilesNetherlandsThe Netherlands qualified automatically from UEFA qualifying, finishing top of their group unbeaten across eight matches. They scored 27 goals and conceded only four, a record that signals both attacking potency and defensive solidity. Their most recent five matches produced three wins and two draws, confirming a squad that is difficult to beat even when not at full intensity. As three-time World Cup finalists, the Dutch carry experience at the highest level. They are expected to be organised and physically imposing under their current setup, and their squad depth gives them the flexibility to rotate without significant drop-off in quality. At 5/6 to top the group, they represent the most secure option in Group F.JapanJapan arrive at the 2026 World Cup in the best form of any side in Group F. Their last five matches produced five wins and no defeats, and their Asian qualifying record of two wins, one draw, and one loss from four matches was enough to secure early automatic qualification. They have conceded only one goal in those four qualifying games, which reflects a defensively well-organised side.Japan have reached the Round of 16 on four previous occasions and will be targeting a similar outcome here. The draw has handed them a winnable group if they can handle the Netherlands in the opener in Arlington. At 5/2 to win the group, they offer genuine value as the likeliest side to push the Dutch all the way.SwedenSweden are at their 13th World Cup but arrive in mixed form. Their last five matches produced two wins, one draw, and two defeats, and their qualifying record of two wins, two draws, and four losses from eight matches was a difficult road to the tournament. They conceded 15 goals in qualifying, which raises real questions about their defensive reliability at this level.Their historic best finish of runners-up in 1958 is a distant memory, and the current squad faces a significant step up in class against both the Netherlands and Japan. At 13/2, the odds reflect a side capable of beating Tunisia but unlikely to seriously threaten the top two.TunisiaTunisia qualified through African qualifying by winning their group with six wins from six, scoring 16 goals and conceding none. That is an outstanding record on paper, and it demonstrated the quality of their squad at continental level. However, their most recent five matches tell a different story, with one win, three draws, and one defeat, suggesting a drop-off in momentum since securing qualification.Tunisia are appearing at their seventh World Cup but have never advanced beyond the group stage. At 17/1, they are substantial outsiders and would need significant results against both Sweden and Japan to realistically challenge for second place. Their clean-sheet qualifying record is the one genuine reason for optimism.Group F Schedule and Fixtures14 June 2026 Netherlands vs Japan – Dallas (Arlington), 15:00 UTC-5 Sweden vs Tunisia – Monterrey (Guadalupe), 20:00 UTC-620 June 2026 Netherlands vs Sweden – Houston, 12:00 UTC-5 Tunisia vs Japan – Monterrey (Guadalupe), 22:00 UTC-625 June 2026 Japan vs Sweden – Dallas (Arlington), 18:00 UTC-5 Tunisia vs Netherlands – Kansas City, 18:00 UTC-5Head-to-Head History and TrendsThe Netherlands and Japan have met at a previous World Cup. At the 2010 tournament in South Africa, the two sides faced each other in the group stage, and that match remains the most significant competitive encounter between them. Their Group F opener in Arlington on 14 June is the headline fixture of the group.Sweden and Tunisia have a limited head-to-head history, with Sweden holding the overall advantage across their meetings. Tunisia’s most recent listed win against Sweden came in 2003, a 1-0 victory, making it one of the more distant results in any Group F head-to-head pairing. Their meeting in Monterrey on 14 June is the group’s opening round of fixtures completed on the same evening.Must-Watch Game in Group FNetherlands vs Japan on 14 June in Dallas (Arlington) is the fixture most likely to shape the entire group. A Netherlands win would effectively put them in control of Group F from the first matchday. A Japan victory, however, would transform the group’s dynamic entirely and make the Netherlands’ path to qualification considerably more complicated.Japan’s five-win run entering the tournament and the Netherlands’ unbeaten qualifying campaign make this a genuine contest rather than a foregone conclusion. Whoever wins this opener will carry momentum into the final two matchdays with qualification almost certainly in sight.World Cup 2026 Group F Best Bets and Expert PicksNetherlands to win Group F – 5/6 The Netherlands are the selection to top Group F. Six wins and two draws in qualifying, 27 goals scored, and an unbeaten record collectively make them the standout side in this group. Their World Cup pedigree as three-time finalists adds the experience dimension that Sweden and Tunisia cannot match. The 5/6 price is a fair reflection of their quality and is worth backing as a straight group winner bet.Japan to qualify from Group F – 5/2 Japan’s form is the best in Group F heading into the tournament, with five wins from their last five matches and only one goal conceded in four qualifying games. They have reached the Round of 16 four times and the quality of their squad suggests they are capable of finishing second even if the Netherlands prove too strong in the opener. At 5/2 to win the group outright, the odds also carry implied value on a top-two finish.Betfred5.0Welcome BonusBet and Get New Bettor Bonus of £50 in Free Bets BET NOWHighbet 4.9Welcome BonusBet £10 and Get a £20 Free Bet BET NOWParimatch4.8Welcome BonusSports Welcome Offer Bet and Get for a £20 Free Bet BET NOWHow to Watch and Where to BetHow to WatchAll Group F matches from the 2026 FIFA World Cup are available to watch in the UK on BBC iPlayer and ITVX, with coverage shared across both broadcasters throughout the group stage. How to BetGroup F outright markets are available at leading operators now. WWW.LGBTQNATION.COM“Unforgivable”: Marjorie Taylor Greene brands Donald Trump a traitor over Epstein filesFormer Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) branded Donald Trump a “traitor” to the American people due to his attempts to cover up the Epstein files. CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asked Greene about a recent New York Times report detailing that the Epstein situation “basically paralyzed the White House,” as Collins put it, even leading to meetings in the Situation Room. Related Trump says “I love the inflation” as it hits 3-year high: “Your struggle is a joke to him” “What does it tell you about how they viewed that story?” Collins asked Greene. The notoriously anti-LGBTQ+ Greene replied that it was “unfortunately… not new news to her” and that she “lived through” it all before resigning from Congress due to her feud with the president over the files. Subscribe to our Newsletter today She recalled a “very uncomfortable phone call with the president before the release of the Epstein files, where he told me that his friends would get hurt if the files were released.” “I’ll never forget that,” Greene told Collins. “I’ll also never forget the text message that he sent me when I told him that my son’s life was being threatened because he was calling me a traitor because I fought to release the Epstein files, where he told me that I deserved it.” She said she isn’t shocked that the White House was paralyzed but finds it “absolutely ridiculous and unforgivable.” “We’re talking about pedophiles and rapists of the elite class of people that never get held accountable for anything,” she said. “If they were paralyzed and scared and didn’t know what to do about releasing the Epstein files… they don’t deserve the American people’s trust. As a matter of fact, they should be considered traitors… Those are the traitors to the American people, and they should be ashamed of themselves. Collins then asked Greene whether she felt her words applied directly to Trump, since the report emphasized that he was the one fighting to keep the files private. Greene didn’t hesitate. “I’m saying exactly that.” Greene: If they were paralyzed and didn't know what to do about releasing the Epstein files, they don't deserve the American people's trust. SPORTS.YAHOO.COMTexas Longhorns football attempting to flip Houston linebacker commitAs the Texas Longhorns look to add to their 2027 class, they have joined the recruiting battle for Jerrell Bridges. The Texas native is committed to Houston, but that has not stopped the Longhorns from making their interest clear. Now the focus for head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff is to get Bridges into the burnt orange after making an offer on Monday.During the recruiting process, Bridges has drawn interest from some of the nation's top programs. That list includes SMU, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Baylor, Iowa State, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, and Purdue. The high interest comes as no surprise, given the statistics the Longhorns target recorded during the 2025 campaign. #AGTG After a great conversation with @CoachNansenUT I’m blessed to receive another offer from the University of Texas #Hookem@samspiegs@MidloPanthers@coachwendel1@jackson_dip@coachedmorgan@CoachDeanYoung@TFloss32@GPowersScoutpic.twitter.com/tg6lX314eV— Jerrell Bridges (@Jbridges_22) June 8, 2026The Midlothian High alum saw his value rise when he recorded 105 tackles, including 12 for a loss, as a junior. He also added three sacks, one interception, and three fumble recoveries to his resume. That came a year after Bridges recorded 27 tackles and 3.5 sacks. With increased playing time, the talented linebacker showed that he can be an impact player.Currently, the Cougars commit is ranked as the 96th-best linebacker in his class by 247Sports. APNEWS.COMForeign workers say they were paid less than $2 an hour to build a new US Consulate in MilanA view of the construction site of the new U.S. Consulate in Milan, Italy, Monday, June 8, 2026, which is under investigation for alleged exploitative labor practices. (AP Photo/Antonio Calanni)2026-06-11T05:25:43Z MILAN (AP) — Foreign workers building a sprawling $350 million American Consulate in Milan were paid less than $2 an hour after being promised fair wages, according to Associated Press interviews with five former employees and a review of their employment letters and pay stubs.Italian prosecutors are investigating Montgomery, Alabama-based Caddell Construction, a major builder of U.S. diplomatic missions. Two of its managers in Italy were arrested this month on suspicion of labor exploitation, one while boarding a flight to leave the country and another planning to flee, prosecutors said. The investigation is led by prosecutor Paolo Storari, who also has spearheaded probes into sweatshops supplying luxury brands. So far only Caddell has been named as a target, not any of its subcontractors. The consulate probe was launched about six months ago and involves some 70 workers, mostly from India. Prosecutors allege Caddell illegally deducted room and board from wages and forced them to work 10-hour days, six days a week. Some were paid as little as 500 euros (less than $580) monthly after room and board were deducted, prosecutors said. Caddell and the U.S. State Department said they are investigating the allegations and cooperating with Italian authorities. The consulate project is part of a construction boom in Milan over the past two decades that has modernized the skyline and raised the international profile of Italy’s fashion and finance capital. Workers describe unpaid wages and threatsThe AP spoke to four workers from Kenya and one from India at a trade union center where officials were organizing assistance, including legal help and housing. The workers provided documentation and spoke on condition of anonymity out of fear of retaliation and to protect the ongoing investigation. APNEWS.COMThe Spurs are still believers, but it’s the Knicks who are 1 game from winning the NBA titleSan Antonio Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama (1) shoots against the New York Knicks during the second half of Game 4 of the NBA Finals basketball series, Monday, June 8, 2026, in New York. (Al Bello/Pool Photo via AP)2026-06-11T14:42:47Z SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Victor Wembanyama surely knew he was overstating the obvious, when he pointed out that there are there are two possible outcomes for Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Saturday night.— San Antonio wins and extends the series.— New York wins and becomes NBA champions. That’s it. It’s one or the other. After 1,321 games — 1,230 in the regular season, 84 in the playoffs, six more in the play-in tournament and one between the Spurs and Knicks that decided the NBA Cup — it really is that simple. If Wembanyama and the Spurs win in San Antonio, the season lives for at least one more game. If the Knicks win, all that’ll be left in this season will be a parade. The Spurs trail the series 3-1 and Wembanyama understands the reality. Of the previous 38 teams that trailed 3-1 in the NBA Finals, 37 wound up watching the other team celebrate the title. And if that bit of history didn’t look daunting enough, the Spurs will try to climb out of this 3-1 hole after the biggest collapse in NBA Finals history — wasting a 29-point lead in a Game 4 loss at New York. “I think it’s going to go one of two ways,” Wembanyama said shortly after Wednesday’s 107-106 loss in Game 4, a game where the Spurs were outscored 55-25 in the final 21 1/2 minutes. “One of two ways. A bad one and a good one. The bad one would be giving up. The good one would be getting stronger through this, getting more together. I know this is what we’re going to do.” Thursday was an off day for the teams, at least in terms of formal practices. Both sides are scheduled to practice in San Antonio on Friday, and then Game 5 is there on Saturday night — with the Knicks one win away from what would be their first championship in 53 years. Read More New York won Games 1 and 2 of the finals in San Antonio — rallying from double-digit deficits in both games — to take command of the series. The Knicks, with a win Saturday, would become the first team since Houston in 1995 to go 3-0 on the Spurs’ floor in a single postseason series. “Our mentality has to be 0-0, the way it’s been,” Knicks guard Jalen Brunson said, repeating the mantra he’s cited time and time again in this postseason run. “It has to be that way, and I feel like us moving forward with that mindset can really benefit us. There’s nothing to celebrate. It’s not over yet, not even close.”It’s common sense for the team with a 3-1 lead to hold off on celebrating. But in this case, there’s also some truth to what Brunson is saying.Yes, the 3-1 deficit has been proven to be virtually insurmountable in NBA history; the only team that successfully escaped its grip in the finals was LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, when they rallied to beat the Golden State Warriors for that title. This series, however, isn’t exactly a statistical runaway. The Knicks have outscored the Spurs by a total of eight points over the four games. Shooting is basically even; the Knicks are at 44%, the Spurs at 43%. The Knicks have made 52 3-pointers, the Spurs 49. Free-throw percentage, Knicks 79%, Spurs 78%. The Knicks have three more rebounds and both teams have exactly 90 assists through four games. “Just take this one game at a time,” said Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox, who took heavy criticism for electing to try a layup — which was blocked — in the final seconds of Game 4 instead of taking time off the clock with a one-point lead. “It obviously looks like a steep hill, but this is something that’s happened before. Take this thing one game at a time. We’ve been in a position to win all these games. We’ve been up double digits. We have to figure out what we need to do to be able to put some of these games away.”It has been a baffling problem for the Spurs. They led Game 1 by one with 1:51 left, then lost after the Knicks finished on an 11-0 run. They had the ball in a tie game with 11 seconds left in Game 2, then lost after Wembanyama threw a pass that Stephon Castle never saw and became a turnover that led to Brunson’s game-winning free throw. And now, this — a 29-point lead wasted in Game 4, and they still led by one until Anunoby’s tip-in with 2.1 seconds left.“We have to try to put this behind us,” Fox said.If they don’t, the Knicks’ 53-year wait for a title could end Saturday night.___AP NBA: https://apnews.com/hub/NBA TIM REYNOLDS Reynolds is an Associated Press sports writer, based in South Florida. twitter mailto0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 45 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMHafley on Kenneth Grant: ‘I think he’s taken a step forward’MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA - DECEMBER 21: Kenneth Grant #90 of the Miami Dolphins yells while running onto the field prior to a game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Hard Rock Stadium on December 21, 2025 in Miami Gardens, Florida. (Photo by Carmen Mandato/Getty Images) | Getty Images The Miami Dolphins selected defensive tackle from the University of Michigan, Kenneth Grant, with their first round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Like most rookies, it took some time for Grant to acclimate to the professional game before finishing his first year with a combined 33 tackles, two tackles for loss, five quarterback hits and two sacks on opposing passers. When asked about the 22-year old second year player earlier in the week, new Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley expressed optimism about the progress his young defensive lineman has made since the coach’s arrival in South Florida.“I think he’s taken a step forward. I think he’s changed his — I know he’s changed his body. He’s faster. He looks more like the guy that I saw on his college tape with his lateral quickness, his pass rush ability, his ability to play the run.”Hafley went on to explain why Grant wasn’t as impressive as some would have hoped he’d be during his first year with the Dolphins.“I also think that goes back to year one — lack of experience, lack of reps, lack of maybe a little bit of confidence as you’re out there. I just feel like right now, he’s starting to believe in himself and his abilities that we know that he has. Hopefully once the pads come on, we’ll see that continue.”The 2026 Miami Dolphins will be a young group — Grant included. His development, along with the development of all of Hafley’s young players, will go a long way towards the organization having a quick turnaround as they undergo yet another rebuild this season.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 45 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMFantasy Football Video: Is Saints QB Tyler Shough a late-round steal for 2026?We're all going to be searching for the next Drake Maye at quarterback in fantasy football in 2026. A player who can make the leap from being a startable fantasy QB to an elite one could separate you from the rest of your league. Finding a gem late in your draft, especially at such a deep position, could be key to winning a championship. On the latest episode of the Yahoo Fantasy Forecast, host Justin Boone is joined by Late-Round Fantasy's JJ Zachariason to discuss which QB could be the next Maye in fantasy drafts. Here, they throw out New Orleans Saints QB Tyler Shough as a potential candidate entering his sophomore season. Play 2026 Soccer Pick 'Em with FOX One and make your picks for the world's biggest soccer tournamentZachariason mentions that New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart is the "easy" bet to make that type of jump into the elite company in fantasy. But Dart is also going early compared to some other potential values with an ADP of QB12, per FantasyPros. If you're looking for a late-round option, JJ believes it's going to be difficult not to go after the New Orleans signal-caller. Last season, Shough took over as the Saints' starting QB in Week 8, starting in nine games and appearing in 11 as a rookie. He finished the season with 2,384 passing yards, 10 TDs, six interceptions and a respectable 91.3 passer rating. Shough also rushed 45 times for 186 yards and three scores. From Week 8 to 18, Shough finished as the QB10 in total fantasy points (QB16 in PPG). Zachariason mentions the Kellen Moore offense, ranking consistently in the top five in plays per game. Even if the Saints plan on being run-heavy, the fast-paced offense should allow Shough to get plenty of passing attempts. Game script, assuming the Saints are trailing a bit in 2026, would play in Shough's favor for fantasy. There's also plenty of talent around Shough in the offense. The Saints signed RB Travis Etienne Jr. in free agency and drafted WR Jordyn Tyson to pair with Chris Olave. TE Juwan Johnson also provides a solid safety net for Shough. Zachariason views the offensive ecosystem as a positive for Shough and he also finished as a top-12 QB in fantasy in half of his starts in 2025. If Shough can take a step forward as a passer in his second season and maintain value on the ground, it feels a lot like the conversations we were having around Maye going into 2025.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 45 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMBrazil beat Colombia in final to win FIFAe Nations League week 2Brazil beat Colombia in final to win FIFAe Nations League week 2The Brazilian eFootball Mobile National Team won Week 2 of the FIFAe Nations League after defeating Colombia. With the victory, Brazil earned another 200 points in the consistency ranking, practically securing a spot in the Continental Championship, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro from August 21 to 23.The road to the title began in the semifinal against Peru, which had eliminated Argentina in the quarterfinals. The first match was tough: a 2-2 draw against an opponent that relied heavily on long balls. In the return leg, however, the Brazilian duo changed their approach and raced to a 3-0 lead in the first half. Then, in the grand final against Colombia, Brazil was the better side in both matches and gave the opponent no chances. The 3-0 and 3-1 wins sealed another trophy for the Canarinho.Rentao highlighted the change in strategy adopted by coach Thiago AvaréCredits: Junior Souza/ CBFDespite the changes to the competitive format, which limited national team squads to only three epic players per team, the Brazilian duo of Juninho and Rentao came up with an interesting strategy so they would not feel the difference in the game.“We built a team with more focus on attack and runs into space. It turned out we connected on a lot of plays that way, and we also trained set pieces well, which were crucial in almost every match,” said player Rentao. For Juninho, consistency within the continent is a very positive point and helps build confidence in a format that is still new to Mobile.Juninho highlighted the national teams’ progress in Week 2 Credits: Junior Souza/ CBF“This is the first official tournament we’ve played as a duo, and I’m happy that everything is going so well. In the first leg of the semifinal, against Peru, it was perhaps our toughest match so far, but we reset mentally and took great advantage of the openings in the second leg,” Juninho said.Coach Thiago Avaré highlighted the duo’s progress from one week to the next.“We noticed that the other national teams had improved a lot, and that pushed us to improve even more. We got better especially in the transition from midfield to attack and increased our variety of plays. The boys are very good, two world champions at club level, and that makes the job even easier,” the coach said.*This article was written by our athlete Renato Graciano, who besides being a Pro Player for the eSeleção is also a trained journalist. This article was translated into English by Artificial Intelligence. SPORTS.YAHOO.COMEagles QB Jalen Hurts pushes back on idea that he is not open to growthFew players in football inspire more discussion than Jalen Hurts. Some of that comes with the territory when you're the quarterback of a perennial contender. Some of it stems from the high expectations that accompany success and an always-watchful Philadelphia Eagles fan base. Over the years, we've heard plenty of critiques about Hurts' game. Some are fair. Others depend largely on perspective. Some believe he can improve his anticipation as a passer. Others point to moments when he holds the football too long or leaves a clean pocket earlier than necessary.Interestingly enough, Hurts would likely agree that there are aspects of his game that can still be refined. That's hardly a controversial admission. Every great player has areas for growth, regardless of accomplishments or accolades. There is another narrative that has followed Hurts for some time, one that extends beyond mechanics and decision-making. At various points, stories have surfaced suggesting that Philadelphia's franchise quarterback is stubborn or resistant to change.Jalen Hurts offers his own perspective on recent criticismCriticism and perception are not always the same thing, but the claims of Hurts' desire to stick with what's comfortable have followed him for a while. Those concerns are different from reading coverage because they have always been difficult to prove. Those who support the idea often point to isolated reports or anonymous sourcing. Meanwhile, the evidence visible to the public tells a different story. Hurts has worked under multiple offensive coordinators, adapted to different systems, and helped guide the Eagles through significant changes on offense. That doesn't mean every criticism is without merit. Better play-calling, more continuity among offensive coaches, and greater consistency around him would certainly help. At the same time, Hurts has never suggested he is a finished product, and following Philadelphia's second mandatory minicamp practice, while speaking with the media, he responded with perhaps the clearest rebuttal that he could. “I’m always open to growth. I’m always open to improving. Think a lot of it is, what do we put our time on task? What are we exhausting? What are we repping? And so I’m looking forward to seeing how training camp goes, so we can just continue to build on the foundation that we began to lay now.”Those aren't the words of someone resisting change. They're the words of a quarterback focused on development, repetition, and progress. Whether one agrees with every aspect of Hurts' game is open for debate. What seems far less debatable is his willingness to keep improving. For a player who has consistently evolved throughout his football journey, that mindset may be one of his greatest strengths. As training camp approaches, it appears Hurts remains committed to becoming an even better version of himself. His track record suggests he understands the value of doing so better than most. This article originally appeared on Eagles Wire: Jalen Hurts focused on reps, growth as Eagles eye training camp0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 45 Views 0 Anteprima

APNEWS.COMFDA’s e-cigarette authorization: Fruity vapes not significantly better than tobacco onesDisposable flavored electronic cigarette devices are displayed for sale at a store in Pinecrest, Fla., June 26, 2023. (AP Photo/Rebecca Blackwell, File)2026-06-11T14:35:12Z WASHINGTON (AP) — Fruit-flavored e-cigarettes recently authorized by the Food and Drug Administration were not significantly better at helping smokers quit than tobacco-flavored e-cigarettes, according to a new memo that’s likely to stir new questions about the agency’s decision. The FDA last month gave its first OK to fruit-flavored vapes — essentially endorsing them as a less-harmful alternative to traditional cigarettes. The decision came despite the agency’s longstanding position that such flavors appeal to children and must show extra health benefits to warrant approval for adults.Health groups and Washington lawmakers quickly condemned the decision and have called for an explanation.A six-page FDA memo released this week provides more details about the agency’s rationale. In it, FDA regulators appear to sidestep previous statements about the risks of sweet vaping flavors while acknowledging shortcomings in the data submitted by vape manufacturer Glas Inc. To meet federal standards, companies must show that their products benefit public health. In practice, that means demonstrating that their vapes help adult smokers switch or quit cigarettes, while not attracting underage use by teens. Smokers who tried Glas vapes were much more likely to completely switch from cigarettes over the course of a three-month study, according to the memo. But the data did not show “statistically significant differences” between adults using the company’s mango and blueberry flavors and those using a tobacco-flavored e-cigarette. Read More That means the new vapes failed to meet the same bar as a handful of other flavored products previously sanctioned by the FDA, including menthol-flavored vapes from Juul and NJOY. Those companies showed that adults who used menthol were significantly more likely to cut down or quit cigarettes compared with those vaping tobacco flavors. Elsewhere, FDA regulators explained that the Glas flavored vapes “did not have to demonstrate added adult benefit,” because young people were unlikely to use them. Glas requires users to unlock each e-cigarette with an age-verifying cellphone app.The agency’s authorization also runs counter to recent FDA guidelines advising companies that fruit and dessert flavors would have to meet “a high evidentiary burden” for adult use, given their risks to children. Tobacco-flavored products are not popular with teens and generally face lower regulatory hurdles at the FDA.The FDA document is also unusual in its brevity.Previous FDA memos on new vaping products typically run dozens of pages. For example, last year’s document authorizing Juul’s menthol e-cigarettes was more than 90 pages and included detailed scientific data from research involving 50,000 people. The short memo on Glas does not include key details, such as how many smokers the firm studied.Previously, the FDA almost always posted such memos immediately after announcing an authorization. The document on Glas appeared on the agency’s website more than a month after regulators OK’d the products. The agency has faced questions from members of Congress about the decision. Last month, 10 Democratic senators sent a letter to the agency requesting more information about the authorization, calling it a “shortsighted and reckless decision.”The application from Glas, which also included menthol and tobacco-flavored vapes, followed a winding path to authorization. The small, Los Angeles-based company submitted a marketing request to the FDA in 2021, and regulators initially rejected it.In February, FDA scientists changed course and signed off on several flavors. But that decision was blocked by a senior official reporting to then-FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, according to internal memos later released by the agency. The mango- and blueberry-flavored products were finally OK’d during Makary’s last full week leading the agency. He resigned the post after months of criticisms from industry stakeholders, including tobacco companies that have lobbied President Donald Trump’s Republican White House for looser regulations on vaping flavors. A spokesperson for the company could not immediately provide comment when reached Thursday morning.___The Associated Press Health and Science Department receives support from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Department of Science Education and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. WWW.404MEDIA.COFlock Leaked Cops’ License Plate Searches via DuckDuckGo, BingAutomatic license plate reader (ALPR) company Flock exposed the reasons cops conducted searches, and sometimes the specific searched license plates, in common search engines like DuckDuckGo and Bing, according to tests by privacy advocates and 404 Media and a statement from the company. The news marks an unusual data breach, and shows that sometimes surveillance technology can leak data in unexpected ways. 404 Media previously reported that Flock exposed the live feeds of some of its cameras. In May the NoCo Privacy Coalition, an activist organization focused on Northern Colorado, shared with 404 Media multiple search engine results that appeared to expose some data related to Flock searches.💡Do you know anything else about Flock? I would love to hear from you. Using a non-work device, you can message me securely on Signal at joseph.404 or send me an email at joseph@404media.co.“Flock appears to be leaking tons of law enforcement vehicle queries and possible user data. Data publicly visible in search result URLs includes: license plate state and numbers, make, model, color, identifiers such as ‘window stickers’ and ‘top rack,’ case number, and more,” the organization said.404 Media performed some of the searches on DuckDuckGo and found multiple URLs that included apparent license plates; the reason for the search (such as what appears to be a case number, or another that says “GTA,” short for grand theft auto, and another reading “Investigation”); and in some cases the date range of the search. “We are continuing to review how this information may have been indexed and are working with relevant parties to remove any cached content where appropriate,” a Flock spokesperson told 404 Media in an email.Flock’s cameras, which are stationed in thousands of communities around the country, continually scan the license plate, brand, model, color and some other identifying features of all vehicles that drive past them. Flock then makes this data available to law enforcement to search, typically without a warrant. An ongoing debate around the privacy implications of Flock cameras has resulted in many communities deciding to stop their use of the cameras entirely, or in some cases keep using them.In its statement Flock said, “The content appearing in search engine caches does not appear to include search results or underlying law enforcement data. Rather, the examples appear to reflect portions of search queries indexed by third-party search engines, like Bing search on Yahoo and DuckDuckGo.” Flock said the results appear to be around 70 in total, and date from 2024 to 2025.“Protecting customer data is a top priority for Flock, and we take reports of potential data exposure seriously. We will continue investigating this matter and take any appropriate action based on our findings,” the company added.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 46 Views 0 Anteprima -
SPORTS.YAHOO.COM'By next World Cup, India must have a backup': Suresh Raina on Hardik Pandya injuriesNEW DELHI: Former India batter Suresh Raina has stressed the need for India to develop a dependable backup for Hardik Pandya ahead of the next ODI World Cup, pointing to the all-rounder's recurring fitness troubles."Hardik Pandya has had several injury setbacks, which is a concern. By the time the next ODI World Cup arrives, India must have a reliable backup for him," Raina said while speaking on JioStar.Pandya endured another injury-hit season in IPL 2026, missing several matches for the Mumbai Indians before returning for the team's final few games. The 32-year-old has now been ruled out of India's three-match ODI series against Afghanistan after suffering a fresh quadriceps strain. The latest injury comes at a crucial stage as India look to carefully manage Pandya's workload with next year's ODI World Cup in mind.He was recently at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru seeking fitness clearance after sustaining a back spasm during the IPL.Pandya remains one of India's most valuable players because of his ability to contribute with both bat and ball. However, his repeated fitness concerns have once again highlighted India's lack of depth in the pace-bowling all-rounder's role. 1316605730 Commenti 0 condivisioni 45 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMVerstappen: Red Bull confused after being deemed to have best engineMax Verstappen says Red Bull are surprised and confused after being deemed to have the best Formula One engine in a ruling which will allow rivals including the dominant Mercedes to make upgrades to their package.Despite having won all six races so far this season, Mercedes will – under the ADUO (additional development and upgrade opportunities) system – be allowed to make an upgrade while Red Bull, who have just 72 points to Mercedes’ 244, will not.The FIA has judged the pecking order of the grid’s power unit manufacturers, based on the power output from the non-electrical part of the engine and Red Bull’s has been deemed the most effective. That means that the other manufacturers will be granted additional engine upgrades on a sliding scale – Mercedes receiving one upgrade and Ferrari, Audi and Honda given two as they are four per cent adrift of Red Bull.Lewis Hamilton was the first to reveal the results to Sky Sports following the Monaco Grand Prix, while Sky report to have seen the document confirming the outcome. The result has come as a surprise to many and has not yet been made public, with the FIA confirming all the information is in order before doing so.Verstappen says his Red Bull team, which produced its own engines in partnership with Ford for the first time this season, are speaking with the governing body to understand the ruling.“I think we were all a little bit surprised with that news. I guess that’s why we are talking to the FIA now to see what happened there and how they came to that conclusion. That’s what they are looking at,” Verstappen said ahead of this weekend’s Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.“We just feel surprised because we don’t feel like we are the best. It is super impressive what they have done – we are definitely not the worst out there.“In such a short timeframe, what they have done overall, it’s nice to be a part of it and see the drive of the people and what they want to do.“In that way we are proud but also confused at being portrayed as the best because we don’t feel like that.”The Dutchman has been the fiercest critic of the sport’s new rules, which see a 50-50 split between electrical and internal combustion engine power, even suggesting he may walk away from F1.On Wednesday it was announced that changes would be made from 2027 which would see more power generated by the internal combustion engine and less from electrical, increasing further from 2028.Verstappen says it was a positive step, adding: “I think it was nice to see that changes are being made for next year.“I would have hoped that next year will be what we are getting in 2028 but I also understand that sometimes there is politics involved for that.“At least the changes are heading in the right direction, that’s a good thing.”0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 45 Views 0 Anteprima -
SPORTS.YAHOO.COMFlorida's redshirt freshman cornerback dubbed SEC breakout candidateRedshirt freshman cornerback Ben Hanks III may be primed to step into the SEC spotlight in 2026. CBS Sports included Hanks in its list of breakout candidates for the conference last week, denoting his instincts and football IQ.Gators safety DJ Coleman praised the former four-star prospect following his performance in the Orange and Blue spring game. "He's been real good, especially as a young guy. He shows a lot of traits that more veteran guys have. He knows how to read. He knows how to read the routes," the senior proclaimed of Hanks."His play recognition is very good, and he doesn't shrink to the moment," Coleman went on to say. "He always rises when the play comes to him." This sort of aptitude is a primary reason Hanks, entering his second season with the Gators, has an opportunity to capture a starting role on new defensive coordinator Brad White's unit.Hanks was indeed impressive in spring camp, earning admiration from teammates and coaches for his maturity and early signs of leadership, despite being one of the younger defensive backs on the roster. The 6-foot-1-inch, 192-pound Booker T. Washington product arrived in Gainesville after setting a single-season record for Miami-Dade County with 13 interceptions as a high school senior. Hanks has the pedigree of a lockdown corner, something the Gators would be thrilled to feature after seasons of searching for consistency from the position. Hanks III is the son of former Florida standout linebacker Ben Hanks Sr., who suited up for the Gators during the first half of the 1990s before spending two years in the NFL. Steve Spurrier famously unretired his No. 11 jersey for the elder Hanks to wear while playing in the Swamp.
