Arsenal step up efforts to sign Lille’s Ayyoub BouaddiArsenal are stepping up their efforts to sign Lille OSC midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi (18), according to a report from Sacha Tavolieri. Arsenal have a long-standing interest in Bouaddi, who, despite playing for France at youth level, recently committed to the Morocco national team and is set to compete with the Atlas Lions in the FIFA World Cup. However, the Gunners are now stepping up their efforts and are in frequent contact with the midfielder’s entourage in order to steal a march on the competition, which notably comes in the form of Paris Saint-Germain. The Premier League champions have indicated to the player’s entourage that he would immediately have an important role in the side. In recent talks between the parties, it was indicated that, on Bouaddi’s part, there was an interest in making the move to the Emirates Stadium. Upgrading its group of edge rushers was a key area of emphasis for the Detroit Lions this offseason.In his media remarks this week to wrap the Lions' OTAs, second-year defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard said adding length was one of the organization's focuses as it went about revamping its group of edge rushers."On the first look at it, it's like, 'Oh, it's changed over there.' In that corner, you look during individual, there's a lot of big, long, tall (players). The biggest thing that stands out to me is length. That's something that we kind of attacked, and we saw that we needed. Like always, we mentioned it and the front office did a great job trying to go out and kind of attain and attract some of the top guys per what we were looking for, and I thought they did a great job."It is a good mix and blend. You have some long, you have some more shorter, powerful, so to say, type players. So, the first thing I think, it's going to be a lot of competition come training camp with that unit. I mean, it's six, seven guys right now I'm looking at and they all look like they can play and have potential. Q: Ira, since you are part of the noise, one more question for you: Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounmpo or Jaylen Brown? – Herman.A: First, no one is sure that even would be a choice, with nothing definitive about Jaylen Brown being available, or, for that matter, nothing definitive about the Bucks trading Giannis Antetokounmpo (which is why this is all such a waiting game). But if you do want to consider some sort of wheel, where it’s Giannis to Boston, Jaylen to Miami and the Heat’s best package (plus possible pieces from Boston) to the Bucks, it does create pause. Giannis is the better player than Jaylen. But when it comes to chemistry, a case could be made for Brown being the better Heat fit alongside Bam Adebayo. Basically, either would make the Heat better (which is not saying much, considering the Heat are coming off consecutive 10th-place finishes).
