Dating Feature Guide

The Dating feature helps adults discover new people, send likes, and create matches when interest is mutual.

If you do not see Dating in the sidebar, the feature may not be enabled on your site yet.

1. Who Can Use Dating

Dating is restricted to adults. You must meet the minimum age set by the site. On most sites, this is 18+.

Some sites may also require age verification before you can use Dating.

You may need to complete one or both of these steps

• Add your birthdate to your account
• Submit an age verification request if the site requires it

2. Opening Dating

1. Log in to your account.
2. Open the left sidebar.
3. Click Dating.

You will see tabs such as Discover, Likes, Matches, Settings, and sometimes Verification.

3. Set Up Your Dating Profile

Before you can appear in Dating, you should complete your Dating settings.

What you can control

• Enable Dating: Turns your Dating profile on or off
• Show My Profile: Lets other eligible users see you in Dating
• Headline: A short introduction
• Bio: A longer description about yourself
• Looking For: Choose who you want to discover
• Age Range: Set the age range you want to see
• Distance: Set how far away matches can be, if location filtering is enabled

How to update your Dating settings

1. Open Dating.
2. Click Settings.
3. Turn on Enable Dating.
4. Fill in your headline, bio, and preferences.
5. Click Save Changes.

If Dating is enabled but Show My Profile is turned off, you can still edit your settings, but other users will not see you in Discover.

4. Discovering People

The Discover tab shows people who match your Dating filters and are eligible to appear in Dating.

What you can do in Discover

• View a person's profile photo, name, age, headline, and bio
• Click Like if you are interested
• Click Pass if you do not want to see that profile again

Passed profiles are recorded so they do not keep appearing in your queue.

5. How Matching Works

A match happens only when two people like each other.

Basic matching flow

1. You see someone in Discover.
2. You click Like.
3. If that person already liked you, a match is created instantly.
4. You will see the new match in the Matches tab.

If the other person has not liked you yet, your like is saved and waits for their response.

How suggestions are ranked

Dating can prioritize people based on compatibility signals such as:

• Mutual friends
• Shared liked pages
• Shared public groups
• Shared public events
• Distance, when location filtering is enabled

This means Dating does not only show random profiles. It can push stronger social overlap and closer proximity higher in your Discover results.

6. Viewing Likes

The Likes tab helps you manage interest before a match is created.

Sections inside Likes

• People Who Like You: Users who liked you first
• People You Liked: Users you already liked who have not matched yet

From the incoming likes list you can

• Click Like Back to create a match if you are interested
• Click Pass if you are not interested

7. Messaging Your Matches

When a match is created, it appears in the Matches tab.

How to start a conversation

1. Open Dating.
2. Click Matches.
3. Find the person you matched with.
4. Click Message.

This opens a new private conversation so you can start chatting.

8. Age Verification

Some communities require age verification before Dating becomes available.

How to submit a verification request

1. Open Dating.
2. Click Verification.
3. Upload the required documents if your site requests them.
4. Add a short message explaining that you want your age verified.
5. Click Send.

Possible verification statuses

• Pending: Your request is waiting for admin review
• Verified: Your age has been approved
• Declined: Your request was declined and can usually be resubmitted

9. Why You May Not See Any Profiles

If Discover is empty, it usually means one of the following:

• Your Dating profile is not enabled yet
• Your profile is hidden from Dating
• Your age or verification requirements are not complete
• Your age range or distance filters are too narrow
• You already passed or reacted to the available profiles
• There are no eligible users in your current Dating pool

10. Privacy and Control

You stay in control of your Dating visibility.

Ways to control your presence

• Turn Enable Dating off to stop using the feature
• Turn Show My Profile off to stay hidden from Discover
• Use Pass to remove profiles you are not interested in
• Use your normal site privacy and blocking tools when needed
