Nancy Mace thanks Trump for fighting to release Epstein files even though hes doing exact opposite
In a post supporting the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, viciously anti-trans Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) tried to gaslight Americans into believing Donald Trump is on the side of truth. Trump administration officials, including the president himself, have made it clear they are trying to release as little information as possible, which has led many to speculate that Trumps name appears in the case files related to the late child sex trafficker. Mace, who has long positioned herself as a staunch ally for victims of sexual violence as well as a devoted Trump supporter, seems to have found herself in a tight spot as the battle for the files to be made public continues. But confusingly, she praised Trump in a social media post after the vote. When the system protects predators and punishes survivors, something is deeply broken, she said. And we will do everything in our power to fix a broken system. The Epstein files are no different. And we support President Trumps push to release the files! She wrote a similar message in a second post on the matter, saying, We stand with President Trump on full and complete transparency. Nancy Mace (@RepNancyMace) July 24, 2025Maces words are extremely misleading, considering President Trump has made it clear he has no interest in full transparency. Not only that, but the president has repeatedly maligned his supporters who have pushed him on the matter, calling them bad people, weaklings, and selfish, and saying he no longer counts them among Team MAGA. He has tried and failed repeatedly to distract his base and shut down the conversations over Epstein but for once, his supporters arent drinking the Kool-Aid.Its unclear whether Mace is trying to deceive her followers or herself with her claims, but one thing is certain: Theyre not true. She was probably referring to the presidents request that the Department of Justice release Epsteins Grand Jury testimony in an attempt to appease people. Many on social media slammed Mace for outright lying about Trumps dedication to transparency. They also blasted her for claiming to support victims while supporting Trump, who has been accused of sexual assault or other forms of sexual improprietyby at least 27 women and against whom evidence is mounting in the Epstein case. We know what its like when the system turns its back on survivors. The victims in the Epstein files deserve justice and the truth. We stand with President Trump on full and complete transparency! pic.twitter.com/e6FDXDp0to Rep. Nancy Mace (@RepNancyMace) July 24, 2025The president has found himself in hot water over his connections to Epstein and his administrations recent refusal to release the case files after long promising to share them. MAGA conspiracy theorists have been chomping at the bit for the files, and many are turning on Trump as he doubles down on his administrations decision.Epstein died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking minors. While the medical examiner determined that his death was a suicide, many people, especially on the right, do not believe that it was, instead asserting that he was killed to keep him silent about his alleged list of powerful, high-profile clients for whom he found children to sexually abuse. Many officials associated with Trump had spent years repeating the same rumors, andTrump himself said repeatedly in 2024 that the Epstein list needed to be released. In February, Attorney General Bondi said that she was reviewing a lot of names related to the Epstein investigation and said that the Epstein list is sitting on my desk right now to review. But earlier this month, the Department of Justice released a memo that said there was no secret client list and reaffirmed the 2019 finding that Epstein died by suicide. Many Trump supporters were outraged that the rumored client list wouldnt be released, while many on the left speculated that the reason Bondi wasnt releasing it is because Trump himself or at least high-ranking members of his administration is on it.Trump had a decades-long friendship with Epsteinand joked about how his friend was fun and terrific andliked women on the younger side. Trump has also beenfound liable for sexual abuse by a jury, hasadmitted to sexually assaulting womenin the past, and hasadmitted to walking in on underage girlsas they changed clothes. A bombshell report by the Wall Street Journal recently claimed the president once sent an NSFW birthday card and doodle toEpstein that included a drawing of a nude woman and an ominous message: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday and may every day be another wonderful secret.Trump claims the letter doesnt exist and is suing the publication for libel.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.
