SPORTS.YAHOO.COMAtletico Madrid defender sends playful warning to Real Madrid’s new signing: ‘Will give him a whack’Atletico Madrid defender sends playful warning to Real Madrid’s new signing: ‘Will give him a whack’Marc Cucurella’s decision to join Real Madrid continues to generate discussion, not only among supporters but also within the Spanish national team camp. The transfer caught many by surprise, especially given the lack of strong rumours linking the defender with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu before the deal was completed. The former Chelsea full-back had been linked with both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid before Real Madrid moved to secure his signature. Considering Los Blancos already had several options at left-back, the operation raised plenty of eyebrows across Spanish football. Now, another Spain international has shared his reaction to one of the summer’s most unexpected transfers.Pubill reacts to Cucurella’s Real Madrid moveSpeaking in an interview with MARCA, Atletico Madrid defender Marc Pubill admitted that Cucurella’s move became an immediate topic of conversation among the players.Cucurella will play for Real Madrid. (Photo by Florencia Tan Jun/Getty Images)The transfer was completed in a matter of days, leaving many within the national team setup surprised by how events unfolded. Pubill was among those asked about the move and responded with a light-hearted warning aimed at his international teammate.“Cucurella to Real Madrid? In the next derby, I’ll give him a whack,” he said.It must be taken into account that the comment was made in good humour, reflecting the relaxed relationship that exists between many of Spain’s internationals despite their club rivalries.Spain dressing room surprised by Real Madrid dealPubill later revealed that the news came as a surprise to several members of the squad.Cucurella’s signing surprised many. (Photo by Buda Mendes/Getty Images)Asked whether Cucurella had been the target of jokes in the dressing room, the Atletico Madrid defender explained,“He acknowledged it. We’ve made jokes about that.”When pressed further on the conversations that followed, Pubill added,“Nothing, just that he’s always a joker and we joke around with him, but the truth is we all found out the moment it was official. “We were a little surprised, but very happy for him. I hope he enjoys it and that’s it,” he concluded.0 Comments 0 Shares 1 Views 0 Reviews

SPORTS.YAHOO.COM'I've got a good relationship with him' - Spence on Tuchel[Getty Images]England boss Thomas Tuchel was filmed shouting at Tottenham defender Djed Spence to "wake up" during training as they continued preparations for their second group game of the World Cup against Ghana on Tuesday (21:00 BST)."It was lucky it wasn't me. I think I made a mistake just before Djed did but he ended up shouting at Djed, luckily," said Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins when he was asked about Tuchel's coaching methods and how the German motivates his players."He is not afraid to shout at you. He is always demanding from you and making sure you are on it every day."Spence was called up to the 26-man squad despite Spurs' battle against relegation and is liked by Tuchel because of his versatility. But despite being singled out in the training drill, Spence said the words from his manager are expected from somebody who is a proven winner."I probably just missed one of the zones to go to and he just told me to wake up," Spence told BBC Radio 5 Live."He's an elite manager - he demands the highest quality from his players, and we want to give the highest quality back. So it is very normal in training sessions, to be honest."Spence came on for the final 10 minutes of England's 4-2 victory over Croatia on Wednesday and had a chance to score as the Three Lions got off to a winning start."I've got a good relationship with him," Spence said of Tuchel."He talks to me sometimes before training, after training - reminds me of what I need to do, my minutes, and what qualities I possess."He's a great manager."Watch below as England camp reporter Kelly Somers and senior football correspondent Sami Mokbel bring you some of the latest news from the Three Lions' base in Kansas City...0 Comments 0 Shares 1 Views 0 Reviews

SPORTS.YAHOO.COM2026 World Cup, Day 12: Argentina vs. Austria; France vs. Iraq; Norway vs. Senegal; Jordan vs. AlgeriaATLANTA, GEORGIA - JUNE 21: Marc Cucurella #24 of Spain celebrates with teammates after the team's fourth goal, scored an own goal by Hassan Al-Tambakti #5 of Saudi Arabia during the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group H match between Spain and Saudi Arabia at Atlanta Stadium on June 21, 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Florencia Tan Jun/Getty Images) | Getty Images This World Cup is shaping up to be a truly memorable tournament as it keeps serving up history with the likes of Cape Verde and Curaçao … but also with the likes of Egypt, for example, getting their first ever win at a World Cup. Mo Salah’s finally got himself a World Cup goal in the process, fittingly proving to be the winning goal in their 3-1 triumph over New Zealand. And though Spain shook off their opening game disappointment to romp to a 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia (Marc Cucurella almost getting one of the goals before it was credited to Own Goal instead), Belgium’s disappointing tournament continues with yet another draw (scoreless against Iran) while Cape Verde just continue to shock, holding Uruguay to a 2-2 draw. And today we get a second round of Messi and Mbappé and Haaland, oh my. Messi’s next goal will make him the all-time leader in World Cup goals. Can he make history?ARGENTINA vs. AUSTRIAUnlike in 2022, Argentina got off to a good start this time with a 3-0 win over Algeria — and Messi’s hat-trick obviously dominated the headlines — but Austria acquitted themselves quite well in their opening match as well, beating Jordan, 3-1. Expect them to put up a decent challenge against the defending champions.Date / Time: Monday, June 22, 2026, 1pm EDT; 6pm BSTVenue: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX, USAReferee: Amin Omar (EgyptOn TV: FOX, Telemundo (USA); BBC One (UK); elsewhereStreaming online: FOX One, Peacock (USA); BBC iPlayer (UK)Chelsea interest: Enzo Fernández continues to be a key player for Argentina, and he played every minute in the first game. Valentín Barco was an unused substitute in that game. Meanwhile, former Chelsea youngster Carney Chukwuemeka came off to bench for Austria in the first game to put in a solid shift.FRANCE vs. IRAQFor most of the first half of their first game, it felt like France would suffer a repeat of 2002. But, unlike 24 years ago, this time their individual quality shone through against Senegal, eventually running out 3-1 winners. Iraq meanwhile put up a good fight against Norway, but that wasn’t enough against the towering horde and Erling Haaland specifically.Date / Time: Monday, June 22, 2026, 5pm EDT; 10pm BSTVenue: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA, USAReferee: Drew Fischer (Canada)On TV: FOX, Telemundo (USA); BBC One (UK); elsewhereStreaming online: FOX One, Peacock (USA); BBC iPlayer (UK)Chelsea interest: Jules Koundé started at right back instead of Malo Gusto, and with Didier Deschamps making just two changes, Gusto ended up being an unused substitute in the first game. I’d imagine he might be in line for some minutes in this one however.NORWAY vs. SENEGALSenegal played well for decent stretches of the game against France, but came away with absolutely nothing to show for it. They’ll need to do better here, to have a good chance of advancing to the knockout rounds.Unlike Senegal, Norway lived up to the hype in their first game, with their physical size in particular proving to be a tough matchup challenge.Date / Time: Monday, June 22, 2026, 8pm EDT; 1am BST (next day)Venue: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ, USAReferee: Wilton Sampaio (Brazil)On TV: FOX, Telemundo (USA); ITV 1 (UK); elsewhereStreaming online: FOX One, Peacock (USA); ITVx (UK)Chelsea interest: Nicolas Jackson came close to scoring a few times against France, but got a bit unlucky, first hitting the post then seeing a great strike chalked off for offside. Just a step too soon! But otherwise it was a good performance from the striker who may be looking for a second chance at Chelsea.JORDAN vs. ALGERIABoth teams are in desperate need of points, and a draw is unlikely to do either of them any favors. So hopefully we get a nice, open, entertaining game from these two relatively unknown teams (other than the few obvious big stars on Algeria).Date / Time: Monday, June 22, 2026, 11pm EDT; 4am BSTVenue: Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, CA, USAReferee: Slavko Vinčić (Slovenia)On TV: FOX Sports 1, Telemundo (USA); ITV 1 (UK); elsewhereStreaming online: FOX One, Peacock (USA); ITVx (UK)Chelsea interest: None0 Comments 0 Shares 1 Views 0 Reviews

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMEverton have a tough start to 2026/27 - The Toffees can't afford to be undercookedEverton have a tough start to 2026/27 - The Toffees can't afford to be undercooked(Photo by Alex Livesey/Getty Images)When Everton opened up their 2025-26 Premier League campaign at Elland Road, they did so with a squad that was far from ready for the rigours of the season. They were badly undercooked. The recruitment had not been fast enough over the summer, and injuries to Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaliy Mykolenko subsequently compounded the issue in the week building up to that trip to Leeds United. What followed was one of Everton’s poorest performances of the campaign, and given how badly the season ended, that’s saying something.Leeds were hardly great themselves, and only won due to a contentiously awarded penalty late on, but a better team than the Whites would have put Everton to the sword, and then some. But at the start of next season, things must be different for Everton. The fixtures were released on Friday, and Everton open 2026-27 at home against Crystal Palace. A trip to Bournemouth, that traditionally unhappy hunting ground (albeit, Everton did win at the Vitality Stadium back in November), follows. Then it’s a home game against Manchester United, before the Toffees head to Tottenham.Ipswich Town coming to the Hill Dickinson Stadium rounds off the first five games, prior to the season’s first international break, which will be an extended, three-week buffer, before Everton head to Hull City.Given the games after that trip to Hull see Everton take on Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle United, then it’s fair to say the start looks a tough one. Now, everybody has to play everybody else twice, and I am definitely not going into panic mode when we are still two months out from the season starting. But Everton must be ready this time.Last year, they had a kind start. Away at Leeds, home to Brighton — in the first competitive game at Hill Dickinson Stadium, giving Everton a natural edge — and then away at Wolves.Aston Villa were the toughest team, visiting in matchweek four, but they were out of sorts and fortunate to hang on to a 0-0 draw. The Merseyside derby arrived early, but home fixtures against West Ham and Palace followed. What Everton did well after that initial s***show against Leeds was to manage to pick up points on a consistent basis, and if there were poor displays, they were quickly put right next time out. That’s what ensured there was never any sense of danger last term, and had us all looking up rather than down. But with such a torrid end to the season, Everton and, in particular, David Moyes, cannot afford another undercooked start.Everton are trying to do business, but trying isn’t good enough. They must ensure players are in the door for pre-season, and that those players are ready to make the impact and ready to be trusted by Moyes. If that’s the case, then he can have no excuse not to use them. It’s of course not realistic to expect Everton to have every single bit of business done before the season begins, but it is absolutely fair to demand that any major dealings are done and dusted well in time, and that pre-season is treated as an opportunity to get those key players bedded in.We can’t have any talk of “moves failing in some departments”, because simply put, there is no more excuse for that.Everton have a tough start, and they must be ready, or it could get very ugly, very quickly.0 Comments 0 Shares 1 Views 0 Reviews

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMReal Madrid ‘appreciate’ 27-year-old World Cup winner; deal hinges on salesReal Madrid ‘appreciate’ 27-year-old World Cup winner; deal hinges on salesJose Mourinho has arrived in the Spanish capital with a set of plans for how he wants to revamp the team, and he has wasted no time doing it.Real Madrid have already wrapped up as many as four signings despite it being a World Cup year, and it looks like they still dream of more. There is no doubt that a new midfielder is on Jose Mourinho’s wishlist, and different names have been floated as potential targets for Los Blancos.Among them is Alexis Mac Allister, the Liverpool star admired by Madrid. However, there is no imminent move for him at this stage.According to Fabrizio Romano (h/t Madrid Zone), Real Madrid like and appreciate the 2022 World Cup winner, and he is one of the players the club have been monitoring.Real Madrid appreciate Alexis Mac Allister. (Photo by Carl Recine/Getty Images)However, any operation is not advanced right now because Madrid need to sell players first. That detail matters.Mac Allister is an easy profile to understand from Mourinho’s perspective. He is technically clean, tactically intelligent, proven in the Premier League and experienced at the highest international level with Argentina.Sales must come firstThe problem is not admiration, it is feasibility. Liverpool are unlikely to make negotiations simple, and Mac Allister remains an important player at Anfield. This is why Madrid’s outgoing market is so important. If the club move on midfielders or clear major wages, the picture could change. Without that, Mac Allister may remain more of a liked name than an active target. There is also competition inside Madrid’s squad. Federico Valverde is expected to stay and become captain, while the futures of Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga are still not clear.A smart name, but not a priority yetWill Real Madrid move for Alexis Mac Allister? (Photo by Jack Thomas/Getty Images)Mac Allister would bring control, pressing intelligence and versatility. He can play as an interior, help in deeper build-up and give Mourinho a midfielder who understands both possession and intensity. That makes him a sensible name for Madrid’s list. Liverpool’s valuation, Madrid’s need to sell and the player’s own position will all decide whether this ever becomes serious. There are other names that Los Blancos are tracking for the same position, such as Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea and Matheus Fernandes from West Ham United. Thus, it feels like Mourinho is still figuring out the profile of the midfielder he wants to add to the squad this summer. It remains to be seen whether sales create room and Madrid make a move for the Argentine midfielder in the coming weeks.0 Comments 0 Shares 1 Views 0 Reviews

APNEWS.COMStaggering amounts of fentanyl hit streets as the DEA watched and took no action, records showThe tallest building in downtown Albuquerque, N.M., which houses the U.S. attorney's office, is seen beyond a chain link fence on Friday, June 12, 2026. (AP Photo/Susan Montoya Bryan)2026-06-22T04:08:37Z ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Even as it battled the deadliest drug epidemic in American history, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration permitted hundreds of thousands of fentanyl pills to hit the streets of New Mexico between 2023 and 2025, according to three current and former DEA agents and government records reviewed by The Associated Press. DEA agents repeatedly monitored shipments of fentanyl pills — but did not seize them — as federal prosecutors sought to bring bigger criminal cases against traffickers of a synthetic opioid that the White House last year designated a “ weapon of mass destruction.”Agents and experts, however, said the tactic amounted to a gamble with public safety that potentially imperiled communities in and around Albuquerque and may have violated U.S. Justice Department rules intended to safeguard the public. “We poisoned our community to make cases,” DEA Special Agent David Howell told AP in a series of interviews in New Mexico. “Through our own willful blindness, we get to say, ‘We don’t really know what happened to the drugs.’ But we 100% got people killed.” DEA Special Agent David Howell, who filed a whistleblower complaint, poses for a portrait outside the U.S. district courthouse in Albuquerque, N.M., on Friday, June 12, 2026. But the strategy of allowing staggering amounts of counterfeit painkillers to hit the streets shocked several veteran agents who spoke with AP.Ridding the streets of illicit fentanyl, manufactured mostly in Mexican labs, became DEA’s top priority over the past decade as overdose deaths surged. At the same time, its lethality — a few milligrams can kill the average adult — upended time-tested tactics that had been used to combat drugs like cocaine and heroin. Those methods have included allowing drug transactions to be completed so agents might follow the narcotics through the supply chain. Fentanyl, however, is so dangerous that the U.S. Justice Department developed guidelines for agents in such circumstances, encouraging them to seize the opioid whenever “practicable.” Read More Albuquerque, which has a neighborhood so besieged by drugs it’s known as “War Zone,” and other regions in New Mexico remain at the epicenter of the fentanyl epidemic. While overdose deaths nationwide fell 14% last year, government data show New Mexico tallied a 21% spike. Alex Uballez, who served as U.S. attorney in New Mexico from 2022 through last year, said authorities at times allowed drug shipments to go unseized as part of a broader effort to gather intelligence and build cases against major drug traffickers. He said the approach reflected his office’s limited resources and his belief that prosecuting larger organizations can have a bigger impact than interdicting every suspected drug transaction. Last year, DEA recorded the largest fentanyl bust in its history in Albuquerque.“The bigger fish are worth catching,” Uballez said, “and that will save more lives.”The DEA said in a statement that “the investigative decisions at issue were lawful, reasonable under the circumstances and consistent with Department guidance.” “Public descriptions suggesting that DEA knowingly permitted fentanyl to reach communities are false and fundamentally mischaracterize the facts,” DEA spokesperson Amanda Wozniak wrote in an email. She said the investigations involved court-authorized wiretaps “in which agents and prosecutors conducted real-time surveillance, intelligence gathering, and operational analysis targeting larger drug trafficking organizations.” Have a news tip? Agents wrote in the report that traffickers delivered 74,000 pills as part of that deal, a figure federal prosecutors later confirmed in a court filing.Days earlier, another DEA report showed, investigators watched the same distribution ring deliver a spare tire hiding another suspected fentanyl shipment that similarly went unseized. “We did nothing, but sit back and watch,” said Howell, who filed an official whistleblower complaint in 2023 to bring attention to what he thought was a tactic that risked public safety. Share Share Facebook Copy Link copied Print Email X LinkedIn Bluesky Flipboard Pinterest Reddit Read More Months passed before federal authorities busted the traffickers, and Howell, who participated in the surveillance, said authorities today cannot account for the unseized shipments.“It’s outrageous to put that many lives at risk in hopes of making a big case,” said Tristan Leavitt, president of Empower Oversight, a whistleblower advocacy group that has asked the Senate Judiciary Committee and Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General to investigate Howell’s claims.A former DEA supervisor, speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation, said he and his Albuquerque colleagues allowed “millions” of pills to go unseized during a multi-state investigation last year. Howell reported in his whistleblower disclosures that agents on that case permitted the delivery of at least 1.8 million fentanyl pills. That investigation, the former supervisor and Howell told AP, culminated in the largest fentanyl bust in DEA history, a takedown announced in May 2025 by then-Attorney General Pam Bondi that resulted in the seizure of more than 3 million pills.“The amount we ultimately seized was hitting the streets every month while that case was going on,” the former supervisor said, adding that the DEA could have dismantled the organization six months earlier. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Albuquerque did not answer questions about the unseized fentanyl shipments but, in a statement to AP, said the “conduct” Howell brought to light happened during the prior administration.“The current leadership of this office is focused on aggressively investigating and prosecuting fentanyl trafficking and disrupting the criminal organizations responsible for distributing these drugs,” Tessa DuBerry, a spokesperson for the office, wrote in an email. Uballez, the former U.S. attorney, said estimated pill counts “based on intercepted phone calls are not reliable.”“I don’t think I’d contest that drugs are ‘walked,’” he said, referring to the law enforcement tactic of allowing contraband to go unseized to further an investigation. “How much and how frequently — and with what certainty — is incredibly difficult to answer in retrospect.”To seize or not to seizeAs fentanyl overdoses became an epidemic over the last decade, the U.S. Justice Department developed an internal playbook for combatting the deadliest drug ever to cross the Mexican border. The game plan coincided with a publicity campaign that warned Americans that “One Pill Can Kill,” a DEA effort to highlight fentanyl’s unique dangers.Adopted in 2017, the department’s two-page “Fentanyl Protocols” called on agents to “seize or otherwise prevent the distribution” of fentanyl “as soon as practicable.” The rules, which have not previously been made public, said that “protecting public safety is paramount,” irrespective of whether seizures compromise investigations. The Justice Department rewrote the rules in 2024 to afford law enforcement more discretion in such cases. The updated protocols say investigators “may exercise discretion in determining whether to take action to prevent the trafficking of fentanyl,” balancing public safety risks against “the benefits to be achieved through preserving the investigation.”The DEA rarely discusses the tactic of allowing drugs to go unseized. Its agent manual describes taking drugs off the street as “the usual course of action” but adds “there may be instances where the investigative objectives can be better achieved by not doing so.”The agency has long used “controlled deliveries” in which constant surveillance of the drugs — and often replacing them with fake narcotics — is followed by a takedown to recover them, according to current and former agents. One of those cases included a 15-month-old toddler who died after ingesting burned fentanyl residue last year in Española, a New Mexico town ravaged by grinding poverty and addiction.Howell, who joined DEA 19 years ago after a decade in the Navy, took his allegations to the U.S. Office of Special Counsel. The agency, tasked with protecting whistleblowers, initially found a “substantial likelihood of wrongdoing” and asked the Justice Department to investigate. In early 2024, Howell told the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility that DEA agents had observed — yet not seized — separate deliveries of 150,000 and 50,000 fentanyl pills. DEA and federal prosecutors, he added, “are placing themselves in a precarious position where they will not be able to prove that the fentanyl they could have stopped did not result in the death of a person.” DEA Special Agent David Howell, who filed a whistleblower complaint, poses for a portrait outside the U.S. district courthouse in Albuquerque, N.M., on Friday, June 12, 2026. Howell, meanwhile, paid a price after coming forward. The DEA relegated him to desk duty for more than a year and docked his performance evaluations, according to Howell and DEA records. Internal records also show prosecutors barred him from testifying in federal court, citing his “pattern of refusing to heed” admonitions to allow drugs to go unseized during long-term investigations.Pointing to DEA’s own “One Pill Can Kill” campaign, current and former agents said they could not understand the watchdog’s finding that the tactics had not put the public in danger. They noted the drug is so dangerous it has to be handled in a specialized laboratory. ___Goodman reported from Miami. SPORTS.YAHOO.COM“He’s too good” – Neville and Wright blown away by ‘scary’ Liverpool transfer target at World Cup“He’s too good” – Neville and Wright blown away by ‘scary’ Liverpool transfer target at World CupGary Neville and Ian Wright have both been awestruck by one Liverpool transfer target at the 2026 World Cup.Aside from watching their own club’s players, Reds fans may also be keeping a particularly close eye on Yan Diomande at the tournament amid the ongoing pursuit of the Ivory Coast winger, who’s been turning heads with his performances in North America.DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL EMPIRE OF THE KOP APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAYHaving had an opening offer of €100m (£86.8m) rejected by RB Leipzig, Fabrizio Romano claimed over the weekend that Anfield chiefs are now set to try their luck once more with an improved bid for the 19-year-old, and it seems as though they may need to top £100m.Neville and Wright wowed by ‘scary’ DiomandeSpeaking on punditry duty for ITV Sport’s coverage of Germany v Ivory Coast, Neville and Wright both singled out Diomande for praise over his performance. The ex-Manchester United full-back said (via GiveMeSport): “Diomande on this left-hand side has been absolutely brilliant. Even when they double or triple up, it’s not enough to contain him. He’s too good.”The former Arsenal striker concurred: “He’s lived up to the hype. His pressing is brilliant; his taking on is brilliant; his pace is scary.”Want more Empire of the Kop coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trustNeville and Wright capture why Liverpool are so keen to sign DiomandeThese comments from Neville and Wright hint at why Liverpool signing Diomande would generate massive excitement at Anfield. The Ivorian is the kind of enterprising, dashing winger who takes on opposition defences for fun and has everyone in the stadium anticipating with bated breath what he’s going to do next. Other than Rio Ngumoha, nobody really did that for the Reds last season. The 19-year-old gave another standout performance in his country’s last-gasp defeat to Germany on Saturday as he won 10 duels, completed four dribbles and executed two key passes (Sofascore).Liverpool will have to pay top dollar if they’re to persuade RB Leipzig to sell Diomande, and Jay Bothroyd has warned the Reds not to go over the top with the transfer fee for him, but the market reality is that such players command vast sums. We’re glad to see Richard Hughes acting quickly to try and snap up the Ivory Coast winger before his asking price hits a stratospheric level, should he continue in the same vein in his nation’s remaining World Cup matches.0 Comments 0 Shares 1 Views 0 Reviews

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMGirona FC and PUMA present the first kit for the 2026/27 seasonGirona FC and PUMA present the first kit for the 2026/27 seasonGirona FC and PUMA officially present the first kit for the 2026/27 season. A design that combines tradition and identity to create a jersey that looks to the future without losing sight of its history. The new kit brings back the traditional red and white vertical stripes, one of the most representative features of Girona FC, and incorporates blue details on the collar and sleeve edges. The main novelty, however, is the return of the blue shorts, a piece closely linked to the Club's history and part of its usual image for more than six decades, from 1949 to 2010. The set is completed with the return of white socks, reinforcing a classic aesthetic that is fully identifiable with the red-and-white tradition. The jersey is part of the global campaign for the 2026/27 season, under the slogan "Everything starts with believing", a narrative that highlights the emotions accompanying any sporting challenge: the excitement to begin, the determination to continue, and the hope to keep moving forward.Sustainable materialPUMA uses RE:FIBRE technology in the jersey, which involves manufacturing the garments with 95% recycled polyester from textile waste and other polyester waste materials. At the same time, it allows the material to be recycled multiple times without losing quality. This waste material is transformed into new textiles through innovative processes such as chemical or thermomechanical recycling. The jersey also features Dry Cell technology, which, thanks to highly functional materials, wicks sweat away from the skin and keeps the player dry and comfortable.Where to buy itThe first kit for the 2026/2027 season will be available at the online store Official Online Store of Girona FC and at Girona FC's official stores (Rambla and Montilivi stadium).Store renovationCoinciding with the launch of the new kit for the 2026-2027 season, Girona FC has unveiled its new online store, a completely revamped platform that enhances the shopping experience for fans. Developed on Shopify, one of the most advanced and reliable e-commerce solutions on the market, the new store offers more intuitive, faster navigation and is adapted to any device.Among the main innovations are a more modern and visual design, a clearer category structure, a simplified purchasing process, and faster loading speeds, making it easier to access the club's official products. Additionally, Shopify's unique functionalities strengthen transaction security, optimize stock management, and improve digital marketing actions, aiming to provide better service to fans and continue driving the growth of Girona FC's online sales channel. These changes not only impact the digital channel but also affect the operations of physical stores, which are integrated into the same management platform.0 Comments 0 Shares 1 Views 0 Reviews

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMBroncos sign third-round pick Tyler Onyedim as logjam of unsigned third-round picks breaksThe logjam of unsigned picks at the top of the third round of the 2026 NFL draft is starting to break. The Broncos signed defensive tackle Tyler Onyedim, the second player drafted in the third round, to his rookie contract on Sunday night. That signing came just hours after the Raiders signed Keyron Crawford, the third player drafted in the third round.Onyedim gets a four-year, $7.38 million contract with a $1.8 million signing bonus. According to Luca Evans of the Denver Post, Onyedim got no guaranteed base salary on the deal. The delay in signing high third-round picks was caused in part by agents trying to get guaranteed base salary for them, but teams have been holding firm that the only money they would guarantee for third-round picks was the signing bonus. The top third-round pick, Cardinals quarterback Carson Beck, remains unsigned. Also unsigned are the fourth, fifth and sixth picks of the third round: Eagles offensive tackle Markel Bell, Bears tight end Sam Roush and 49ers edge rusher Romello Height.0 Comments 0 Shares 1 Views 0 Reviews

APNEWS.COMJudge in Charlie Kirk killing case to decide if prosecutors could be punished for comments in mediaTyler Robinson, accused in the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, appears during a hearing in 4th District Court in Provo, Utah, on Friday, June 12, 2026. (Francisco Kjolseth /The Salt Lake Tribune via AP, Pool)2026-06-22T04:21:53Z The Utah judge in the murder case over Charlie Kirk’s killing says he will rule Monday whether prosecutors could face sanctions for comments to the media about a bullet fragment recovered from the conservative activist’s body.Lawyers for defendant Tyler Robinson have asked Judge Tony Graf to block the death penalty in the case, claiming the prosecutors’ comments could sway potential jurors regarding his guilt. But criminal law expert Paul Cassell said it would be extraordinary for Graf to grant the defense request. Their concerns could be addressed in other ways, such as more closely questioning jurors to ensure they aren’t biased, the University of Utah law professor said.“A standard defense attorney maneuver is to avoid talking about the guilt or innocence of your client. The theory is that as long as you’re talking about anything other than whether the defendant is guilty, you’re winning as a defense attorney,” Cassell said. “This seems to be an extreme example of that.” Representatives of the Utah County Attorney’s Office said they were compelled to speak publicly about the case following speculation in some media outlets. The speculation began after the defense team publicly disclosed that initial tests were inconclusive to determine whether the bullet was fired from the suspected murder weapon.Conjecture over the evidence in Kirk’s killing has fueled unsubstantiated conspiracy theories that there might have been a second shooter, or that his death was staged. The case has attracted enormous media attention and concerns from both sides about misinformation tainting the potential jury pool. Read More Robinson has not yet entered a plea. Prosecutors have said they intend to seek the death penalty if he is convicted. The 23-year-old from southwestern Utah is charged with aggravated murder in the Sept. 10 killing of Kirk, a close ally of President Donald Trump who was shot in the neck while addressing a crowd of thousands at Utah Valley University. Judge Graf held a hearing last week over whether prosecutors should be held in contempt for their comments about the bullet. Robinson’s attorneys accused prosecutors including Deputy Utah County Attorney Christopher Ballard of trying to influence potential jurors by going on a “media tour” to talk about ballistics evidence in the case. Ballard argued at the June 12 hearing that he didn’t speak to the media about case specifics, and he only remarked generally about how ballistics testing can be inconclusive. The defense team also pointed to another Utah criminal case in which prosecutors were accused of contempt and suggested that one potential remedy would be to bar the state from seeking the death penalty. While the judge in that earlier case disagreed that an order barring the death penalty was merited, Robinson’s attorneys noted that “the court did not conclude that such a remedy was beyond its authority where the facts support it.”A key hearing in Robinson’s case is scheduled for July 6-10, when prosecutors must show they have enough evidence to warrant a trial. ___Brown reported from Denver and Boone from Boise, Idaho.
