Crystal Palace’s Conference League triumph could boost club in new manager hunt
Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish is confident the club's Conference League success will prove vital in securing a high-calibre replacement for Oliver Glasner and persuading key players to remain at Selhurst Park. The Eagles lifted their first European trophy after a 1-0 victory against Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig on Wednesday, marking a triumphant end to Glasner's reign. This historic win also guarantees Palace a spot in next season's Europa League, building on last year's FA Cup triumph.Parish now faces a pivotal summer, tasked with appointing a new head coach and retaining the club's star performers.Among the bookmakers' favourites for the managerial position are Andoni Iraola, who is set to leave Bournemouth, former Tottenham manager Thomas Frank, and Coventry head coach Frank Lampard. When asked about the impact of Conference League glory, Parish told Sky Sports: “I think it makes our life easier in one way and more difficult in another.“Easier in that I think the managers that we’re looking at probably are more encouraged by us playing in Europe. I think that would mean something to (them to) expose themselves in that competition.“Obviously, it’s another 60 games, probably, and we need to be prepared, we know what’s involved now.“We need to try and get ourselves in good shape with the right quality, the right amount of cover, the right manager, and go again and see if we can’t win that one.”Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish (left) and Adam Wharton after the UEFA Europa Conference League Final at the Red Bull Arena, Leipzi (PA)Jean-Philippe Mateta scored Palace’s 51st-minute winner at Red Bull Arena.Austrian boss Glasner announced in January he would leave the club when his contract expires at the end of this season.Asked how much of a boost playing in the Europa League next term will be in terms of recruiting a manager and keeping hold of players, Parish said: “I think it is, I really do.“I don’t think it’s everything. I think that there are other challenges, there are other clubs out there looking for managers and they’re probably in Europe as well, but it certainly helps.“I think we’re looking at this morning in a lot better state than we would have been had the alternative happened and we’d lost the game, and then maybe one or two players that might be thinking about staying maybe thought, ‘oh, no, I don’t want to do another year’, so obviously it helps in a lot of ways.”Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner announced in January that he would leave the club when his contract expires at the end of this season (PA Wire)While co-owner Parish admits Palace need to strengthen their squad, he does not want to see a major overhaul.Paying tribute to Glasner, who replaced Roy Hodgson in February 2024, Parish said: “Oliver has things that he wants to do and we’re lucky that he came to our club for the time that he did.“We’ve got to look forward and so has Oliver. He’ll always have a special place in the heart of all the Crystal Palace fans.“I hope we remain friends. We get on really well. You can’t do these things unless everything functions together, and let’s hope we can put that around the new guy that comes in.”

Analyst breaks down his favorite move of the Titans' offseason
General manager Mike Borgonzi has had a busy offseason and has almost completely overhauled the Tennessee Titans this offseason. Between a new coaching staff headed by Robert Saleh and the addition of multiple players, this team looks completely different from what it was at this point in 2025.With all the changes, analysts and insiders can look at many different aspects of the organization as they break down their favorite offseason moves, and Mike Sando of The Athletic decided to focus more on the coaching staff than on the players.Tennessee TitansLeaning into New York reclamation projectsNo one is saying the Tennessee job is easy or that Titans owner Amy Adams-Strunk has proved to possess a stable hand. This is a tough job in its own way. But in hiring new coach Robert Saleh and new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, the Titans are leaning into leaders who were coaches in the NFL’s toughest market.Saleh, the former Jets coach, and Daboll, fired by the Giants in January, have landed in a market where the bright lights shine on Lower Broadway more than on the football operation. We’ve seen quarterbacks leave the Jets (Sam Darnold) and Giants (Daniel Jones) to find success in less challenging markets. Perhaps the same can hold true for Saleh and Daboll. The pressure cooker that is New York can have a significant impact on both players and coaches, and as Sando points out, there is a history of players showing tremendous improvements once they are removed from the spotlight, and from the initial signals coming out of the facility, the two coaches are helping change the culture of the organization. This article originally appeared on Titans Wire: Tennessee Titans: What is their best offseason move?

Three Belgian clubs interested in young Coventry striker
Three Belgian clubs interested in young Coventry strikerFoot Mercato are reporting that three Belgian clubs are showing interest in signing Coventry forward Norman Bassette. The former KV Mechelen forward spent the past season on loan from Coventry at two different clubs. For the first half of the season Bassette played for Reims before Coventry sent him to Bundesliga 2 and Kaiserslautern. The three Belgian sides said to be interested in signing the Coventry forward are Sint Truiden, Westerlo and Standard Liege. Bassette began his career with Caen before spending the 2023/2024 season with KV Mechelen. He played 23 games for the side and scored five goals, earning him a move to Coventry the following summer. During his first season in English football with Coventry the young Belgian striker played 29 games, scoring twice. In France, Bassette scored two goals in 13 games for Reims, while in Germany he scored twice in 16 games. With Coventry now in the Premier League, and Bassette under contract until 2028, it is likely that the side will be happy to see the 21-year-old loaned out again to get more game time and confidence. Barcelona accelerate pursuit of Julian Alvarez despite £69m Anthony Gordon deal, opening bid imminent
Barcelona accelerate pursuit of Julian Alvarez despite £69m Anthony Gordon deal, opening bid imminentBarcelona are preparing to submit an official offer to sign Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.Alvarez is a long-term target for the Spanish champions and the club's priority for the summer transfer window, as Barcelona seek a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.Despite agreeing a £69m deal to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United, Barcelona remain determined to sign Alvarez and are readying a first proposal.According toFabrizio Romano, Barcelona's bid will not include any players in part exchange, with Atletico likely to demand a fee in the region of €100m.Alvarez has informed Atleti of his desire to leave the Spanish capital after rejecting the club's offer of a new contract last season. However, the Rojiblancos are in a strong position with Alvarez contracted at The Metropolitano Stadium until 2030.Despite rival interest from Paris Saint-Germain and the Premier League, Alvarez favours a move to Barcelona. The Catalans are due to hold a meeting with the player's camp, before tabling their opening offer to Atleti. Why do Barcelona want to sign Julian Alvarez?Alvarez has established himself as one ofLa Liga's leading talents since signing for Atletico Madrid from Manchester City in 2024. He's scored 49 goals in 106 games for Diego Simeone's side across all competitions.Barcelona are searching for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who is leaving this summer at the expiration of his contract. The 37-year-old departs after 120 goals in 193 games for Barca across four seasons. Despite limited minutes in 2025/26, only Kylian Mbappe (56) has scored more La Liga goals than Lewandowski (41) over the last two seasons.Alongside Alvarez's goals, the Argentine is an elite creator. Last season, he ranked in the top five percent ofLa Liga forwards for successful passes, successful crosses, chances created and big chances created.

Germany’s Voeller urges players to avoid political statements at World Cup
Germany sporting director Rudi Voeller has urged members of the World Cup 2026 squad to avoid making political statements during this summer’s tournament.Speaking from Germany’s pre-World Cup camp in northern Bavaria, Voeller said players were not under a gag order but encouraged them to keep sport and politics “somewhat separate” while at the finals.Voeller said there would be no specialist media training ahead of the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico, unlike in the lead-up to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.“If someone wishes to do so, they are welcome to do it in the run-up to the tournament,” Voeller said on Wednesday about players making political statements.“However, if it hasn’t happened until this point, it generally shouldn’t start happening now.”The 66-year-old hoped Germany learned from their experience four years ago in Qatar, where the team’s build-up to the tournament was dominated by discussion about a ban on political symbols. In Qatar, the German players covered their mouths in their pre-match photo before their tournament opener against Japan, protesting against FIFA’s threat to sanction players for wearing “OneLove” armbands. Some commentators suggested it contributed to their poor showing at the tournament.“Every player is fully aware of the situation; after all, a significant number of the current squad members were also part of the team that went to Qatar,” said Voeller.“Naturally, we won’t see a repeat of what happened previously – namely, [players and officials] launching various campaigns or conducting interviews and reporting critically on certain issues immediately before a match.”Voeller said he would leave it up to the media to report on political issues.“You [the media] are free to do that. We’re not imposing any gag orders.”The former Germany striker, who won the World Cup in 1990, said he felt athletes taking political stands made little impact, pointing to the 1980 Moscow Olympics boycott by the United States and other nations.“We are here to play in a World Cup. That takes precedence; we are footballers, and our goal is to inspire the people … and perhaps offer them a distraction from their everyday worries,” said Voeller.“We would be well advised to simply look forward to the World Cup now. Despite all the unpleasant circumstances that may surround it, we should nonetheless strive to play good, attractive football and inspire the fans.“Even back then, during the 1980s Olympics, when the Americans, along with all the Western nations, decided not to attend the Games, I felt that was the wrong decision even at the time.”Germany face Finland in Mainz on Sunday in their final pre-tournament friendly on home soil.Coach Julian Nagelsmann said injured veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer would not be back in time to play this weekend but would feature at the World Cup.

How Denison made the College World Series on a 44-game win streak
Coach Mike Deegan's 13th season at Denison in 2025 was historic. Big Red baseball had the fourth-highest winning percentage in the country with a 41-7 record and a sixth straight North Coast Atlantic Conference championship. The program made its first-ever trip to the College World Series, flooring opponents in the regional and super regional rounds before losing to the eventual tournament champions. This season has been just as impressive, if not more so. In 2026, the Big Red have won 44 consecutive games, tying the NCAA Division III record, with a chance to break it when they return to the CWS on May 29 against No. 8 East Texas Baptist.Winning 44 games in a row of anything, let alone baseball, is a challenge. When you unpack the events that led to the winning streak, the feat is even more baffling. No game embodied the Denison season more than its regional final against Kalamazoo on May 17. The Big Red could afford to lose, having not yet lost in the double-elimination bracket, and were down 12-8 in the bottom of the ninth inning. It seemed probable that the two teams would suit up for a winner-take-all game that afternoon.Denison had other plans, scoring three runs on one hit, two hit-by-pitches, a walk and two sacrifice flies. Then, the Big Red pinch-hit Tristan Kerr, who had started four games this season, and he hit a two-RBI two-out single to walk it off. The streak lived on.During this incredible stretch, the Big Red have won eight games by one run. Three of those one-run wins came during the NCAA regional stage, all walk-offs.This success is also improbable given the fact that starting pitcher Andrew Montero, an Upper Arlington graduate, had an arm issue before he was set to take the mound in the second regional game. Two starts before, Montero set a program single-game record with 16 strikeouts in a seven-inning shutout against Ohio Wesleyan. However, Deegan and the coaching staff had to alter their rotation plan 30 minutes before first pitch, opting for starter Robbie Lee. Denison won 4-3 with a walk-off single from Jack Rollo.Losing Montero, who has since been shut down for the rest of the season, is one of many challenges Denison overcame during the streak. The Big Red felt targeted after their 2025 CWS run, naturally getting poached by Division I programs via the transfer portal. Sam Larson, who had a team-best 1.91 ERA in 2025, transferred to Tulane and became a staple in the Green Wave's rotation.Down 4 in the 9th... Not Just Yet!!@DenisonSports@NCAC@NCAADIIIpic.twitter.com/VXIWr1ThAI— Denison Baseball (@DU_Baseball) May 17, 2026Another standout for the 2025 Big Red, starter Peter Lemke, left for Duke. Even Lee, a fixture of the current Denison rotation, is transferring to Virginia for his fifth year of eligibility."This was our first year really experiencing it," Deegan said. "We've had a few transfers, not so much transfer portal-type kids."Losing Denison's 2025 senior class was also a big blow. Current players referred to that class as a staple. Losses included Eric Colaco, called "Mr. Denison baseball" by utility player Jack Lutte. Colaco started all 48 games in 2025, hitting .355 and stealing 31 bases.More bad news before the start of the 2026 campaign: Starting shortstop Alex Avila tore multiple knee ligaments, costing him his senior season. On paper, the roster looked weaker.Deegan wasted no time. He responded to Avila's injury by bringing in Kelly Crittenberger, a junior infielder transfer from Northwestern. Though he didn't see action with the Wildcats, Crittenberger fit right in with Denison, starting in 43 games while hitting .373 with a .963 OPS.Still, most of the members of the Big Red roster were returning players. Denison embarked on its season in Greensboro, North Carolina, against Christopher Newport University, winning 13-4. In their second game of the season Feb. 21, the Big Red lost 4-1 to Salisbury. They haven't lost a game or scored fewer than two runs since."Maybe it's just a little bit more experience," Deegan said. "Maybe it's just a little more time under pressure. Maybe it's a little more joy with each other. It's things like that. I wouldn't say we're more talented this year. ... In baseball, we like to talk more about evidence-based proof on things. I may not have that, but I would say there's probably a little more spirit in the air that you can't quite describe."Deegan's returning players can feel that magic. Take NCAC pitcher of the Year Will Rettig, for example. Rettig had an impressive junior season in 2025, going 6-1 with a 2.69 ERA in eight starts and 15 appearances. He took a jump this season, becoming the conference pitcher of the year with an 11-0 record and 2.55 ERA.He credited much of his growth to Denison graduates such as Nick Falter, saying they led by example. Falter, an Olentangy Liberty grad, signed a minor league deal with the San Diego Padres after graduating. He was promoted to the Padres' Single-A affiliate in April 2026."I kind of knew what the expectation would be of me, and I tried to embrace that," Rettig said. "We're all so different in how we pitch, but just trying to be someone that's a leader. I feel like it's kind of taken pressure off of every individual game, and it's just 'How can I help the team win?' "Rettig, the expected starter for the Big Red's first CWS game, said he's enjoyed baseball this year more than ever. He called his role as a starting pitcher one of the "easiest" of anyone on the team due to Denison's run support and veteran defense, as well as scouting prep from the coaching staff. After Montero went down, Rettig knew extending starts would be key to returning to the CWS. In the first game of the NCAA Super Regional against Piedmont on May 22, Rettig allowed three runs in the fourth inning. The Denison offense countered by scoring three runs over the next two innings, and Rettig finished seven innings without allowing any more runs.In the eighth inning, the Denison offense scored six runs en route to a 9-3 win. The Big Red played Piedmont the following day and won 8-7 to clinch their CWS berth.TICKET PUNCHED!!#NotJustYetpic.twitter.com/uhGwXYmAeT— Denison Baseball (@DU_Baseball) May 24, 2026Along with stellar pitching, the Big Red have four of the top 10 hitters in the NCAC by OPS, led by Lutte with a 1.367 OPS and .439 batting average. Deegan called Lutte the best pure hitter he's seen in Division III.The 2026 conference player of the year, Lutte believes that the jitters of playing in the CWS for the first time are gone. The Big Red are the No. 1 seed and also get the benefit of playing the CWS in Eastlake, Ohio, for the second year in a row."The culture of this team has really shown through," Lutte said. "We're a team built on grit."Lutte and Rettig admire the culture Deegan has created. Players stay attached to the program. Though unable to play shortstop, Avila became the team's first base coach. After Duke's season ended, Lemke returned to watch his former teammates play in the Super Regional."I would choose to play for [Deegan] again and again a million times over," said Rettig.Neither the team nor Deegan feels the pressure of the win streak."I'm just really looking forward to our practice today," said Deegan. "I know it's cliche, but that's just how my mind works. ... I think if you can compartmentalize it, it's not as daunting."This article originally appeared on The Columbus Dispatch: Denison baseball rolls into College World Series on 44-game win streak

20 Marseille employees accuse senior club figure of ‘intimidation’ and ‘toxic management’
20 Marseille employees accuse senior club figure of ‘intimidation’ and ‘toxic management’According to L’Équipe, an anonymous collective of Olympique de Marseille employees have accused sporting coordinator Bob Tahri of contributing to a toxic working environment behind the scenes at the Ligue 1 club. The complaint was reportedly sent on Tuesday evening to Marseille’s hierarchy, HR department, and employee representatives and was allegedly written by around 20 staff members working across the administrative and sporting sectors at OM.The email describes what employees claim is a climate of “paranoia at every level” internally, with staff allegedly fearing repercussions for speaking openly.“We are forced to remain anonymous out of fear for our jobs,” the message reportedly stated. “Many people are afraid of being fired or demoted.”According to L’Équipe, the complaint specifically targets Tahri, accusing the Marseille sporting coordinator of manipulation, intimidation, and contributing to growing tensions within the club. The report also claims the email references numerous departures across several departments at OM, including communications, medical, and operational staff, alongside criticism of what employees allegedly describe as erratic management methods.Marseille have confirmed that the matter is now being handled internally.“The HR department has taken the matter very seriously and is studying all measures that need to be implemented in light of the situation,” the club told L’Équipe. An internal investigation is now expected to be launched.Tahri denied wrongdoing when contacted by the French outlet.“People cannot damage my work and my image without proof,” he told L’Équipe. Florida State softball star earns Gold Glove recognition
Florida State shortstop Isa Torres added yet another major accolade to her historic 2026 season, becoming just the third Seminole in program history to earn a Rawlings Gold Glove Award, receiving the honor on Wednesday. She was also one of four Seminoles to be named an NFCA All-American, tying the program record. She joins former Seminole standouts Jessi Warren (2019) and Sydney Sherrill (2022) as the only players in program history to capture the national defensive honor, further cementing Torres' place among the best defensive players ever to play at Florida State.Throughout the season, Torres consistently displayed elite defensive instincts at shortstop while anchoring one of the nation's top infields. Her range, arm strength and consistency helped establish Florida State as one of the stronger defensive teams in the country throughout ACC and postseason play.Statistically, Torres backed up the eye test with one of the best defensive seasons in the nation. The junior finished the year with just two errors and a .990 fielding percentage while routinely making difficult plays look routine in the middle of the Seminoles' defense. Combined with her offensive production, Torres emerged as one of the most complete players in college softball this season. The Rawlings Gold Glove adds to an already loaded postseason awards resume for Torres, who was previously named the D1Softball National Player of the Year, ACC Player of the Year, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and a First Team All-American following her dominant junior campaign. Offensively, Torres hit a school-record .530 with 16 home runs and 56 RBI's while also setting NCAA records during the season.Even with Florida State's season now complete, national recognition for Torres continues to arrive at a historic pace. Between her offensive accomplishments and elite defensive play, Torres' 2026 campaign will likely be remembered as one of the greatest individual seasons ever produced by a Seminole softball player.Follow us @FSUWire on X and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Florida State news, notes, and opinions. This article originally appeared on FSU Wire: FSU softball's Isa Torres wins Rawlings Gold Glove Award

Newark girls blazing a trail in flag football, 'This is insane'
“Down, set, go!”The cadence cut through White Field as the Newark Wildcats lined up on the hash marks before kickoff. Before the first snap, players bounced in place, exchanged handshakes, and danced along the sideline while coaches discussed adjustments with their players. For Newark, the only school in Licking County with a varsity girls flag football program, that moment in April represented more than another spring game. The Wildcats are pioneering a new high school sport in the area by building a program in which players will earn varsity letters while participating in one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, now backed by the NFL and spreading through high schools nationwide.Girls’ flag football has grown rapidly in part because of partnerships among NFL FLAG, USA Football and NFL organizations, such as the Cleveland Browns’ girls high school flag football initiative. According to the Browns’ initiative, the number of participating Ohio high schools has grown from six in 2021 to 121 in 2026, reflecting the rapid rise of the sport ahead of its debut at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.Ohio’s first OHSAA-sanctioned girls flag football state championship was held May 16 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, adding another layer of legitimacy to a sport many Newark players had never tried before this season.“I was just excited for a new sport,” said freshman Siobhan Post, a receiver who plays for the Wildcats. “I heard about it, and I was like, ‘That is insane.’”It was Post’s first time learning and playing flag football, which has changed her understanding of the sport. “This is my first time playing. … I definitely want to come back next year,” she said. Post said she knew she wanted to try out again for the Wildcats flag football team before the season even ended. The Wildcats’ roster features athletes from multiple sports backgrounds, including volleyball, wrestling, and powderpuff football. Some players entered the season with almost no football experience, while others quickly emerged as leaders.Senior safety Evelyn Bowers and junior wide receiver Brooklyn Dowell were among the players who approached Isabella “Izzi” Palmisano, the algebra 2 and geometry teacher and head coach of the Wildcats volleyball team at Newark High School, to be their flag football head coach, as the sport has become more organized across Ohio.“They came to me and asked if I would help them get that all set up,” Palmisano said. Together, they contacted Jeff Quackenbush, Newark High School’s athletic director and head basketball coach, to work with the Cleveland Browns girls flag football initiative to help bring the program to the high school. During Newark’s April 17 matchup against Marion Harding, Dowell paced anxiously along the sideline before kickoff, while Bowers, the team’s lone senior, was honored alongside her family on senior night with flowers, a signed team photo and a pregame introduction. After Newark fell behind early, head coach Palmisano gathered her team.“I don’t care about anything else going on around the field,” Palmisano yelled. “Your body language and attitude are horrendous. Pick it up.”The Wildcats responded immediately.Newark freshman defensive back Angie Dowell intercepted a pass near the goal line and sprinted down the sideline as the entire Newark bench ran with her, cheering. Dowell finished the game with three interceptions as the Wildcats defeated Marion Harding 26-8.“The girls are a blast,” said assistant coach Bryan McMakin. “They got a competitive edge some of the middle school boys don’t have.”What surprised coaches most was how quickly players began understanding the game itself.Quarterbacks wear wristbands filled with plays designed by the coaching staff. Coaches use traditional football terminology without simplifying concepts for newer players. Midgame adjustments are a common occurrence as players become more invested in the game.“These girls are smart, and they learn quickly,” McMakin said. “Fast forward five or six weeks, and I’m putting in plays I don’t put in for my middle school boys.”McMakin coaches football at a Newark middle school. At one point during the season, players began drawing up their own adjustments between drives.“Two of the plays we scored on today, they called that,” McMakin said. “They’re drawing plays in the sand.”The growth mirrors what is happening nationally. The NFL recently announced plans to help launch a professional women’s flag football league ahead of the 2028 Olympics, further increasing opportunities for girls entering the sport. For Newark players, however, the sport’s appeal currently feels much simpler. Flag football offered something different from the sports they already knew. “I didn’t think I was going to like it because I don’t like to run”, junior wide receiver Delaney Williams said with a smile. “But it’s a fun sport.”Brooklyn Dowell said she kick-started the team because she already loved football. “I was excited to do something football-related with everybody,” she said.“I’m having so much fun,” Bowers said during the game.Players cheered from the sideline between drives. Sophomore Avah Bonner and sophomore Sky Koontz, two of the Wildcats’ most vocal team members, chanted from the sideline, “defense, *clap, clap* defense.” The rest of their peers joined in as the Wildcats thwarted the opponents’ numerous opportunities to score. Teammates celebrated interceptions and touchdowns together.“Lock in and watch your team,” said sophomore quarterback Addy Dowell from the sidelines. The teammates on the bench listened and joined Addy in focusing on the game, while coaches pulled players aside individually for one-on-one instructionDespite flag football being classified as non-contact, the games quickly became physical. Flag football removes the helmets, pads and tackling, but much of the verbiage and strategy remains the same. Ohio teams play five-on-five, stopping the ball carriers by pulling flags that are worn around players’ hips. The offensive and defensive schemes are similar to tackle football.“There will be tackling, even though it is a no-contact sport,” Williams said. “You will get punched in the face. But it’s fun.”Palmisano, who also coaches club volleyball and graduated from Granville High School and Capital University, said the opportunity means more than wins and losses.“I think men’s sports have been growing, female-dominated sports,” Palmisano said. “It’s great to turn the tables, especially now that women are playing high school football as kickers. Women now have an outlet, too.”The sport’s growth is already spreading beyond Newark.Todd Londot, a Licking County business owner and longtime youth coach, said he has watched participation in local flag football steadily increase over the last decade through programs at the Buckeye Valley Family YMCA in Newark and Granville Recreation District leagues.“I think it’ll become highly competitive pretty quickly,” Londot said. “I think you’re going to see a lot of girls shift to it next spring.”Londot is a Licking County native and a former Super Bowl Champion with the New York Giants, and has coached youth flag football for seven years. He said the sport helps athletes develop field vision, movement, and versatility because players often rotate through multiple positions instead of specializing in one early on. The Wildcats finished their inaugural Varsity Flag Football season with a record of five wins and five losses, but for longtime Newark football supporters, the team’s impact extends beyond a single season.“The girls are part of the football program now,” McMakin said about the Newark Wildcats high school programs. “It’s not just football for the boys anymore.”Noah Lebowitz writes for TheReportingProject.org, the nonprofit news organization of Denison University’s Journalism program, which is supported by generous donations from readers. "Indian team is up there with Australia": Sophia Dunkley highlights crucial preparation for T20 World Cup
Chennai : The last time these two sides met in a bilateral series, India women scripted history by securing a maiden T20I series win against England. A few months later, in Nov, India went on to clinch their first ODI World Cup title. Now, the two teams are set to renew their rivalry in a three-match T20I series starting on Thursday in Chelmsford, ahead of the T20 World Cup to be held across England later this year. India have firmly established themselves as a force to reckon with and England opener Sophia Dunkley believes the side is on par with powerhouse Australia.England, who last won the T20 World Cup in 2009, head into the series on the back of a dominant 2-1 victory over New Zealand. Dunkley, who began her career in the middle-order and has now cemented her place at the top, feels the India series will be the ideal buildup to the World Cup.“The series against India is going to put our skills under a lot of pressure, which is perfect prep ahead of the mega event. We haven’t been together in this particular T20 line-up for a long time, so it’s about finding the right combinations and becoming really familiar with those ahead of the WC.”(Watch India Women’s Tour of England live on Sony Sports Ten 1 SD & HD and Sony LIV).

Matt LaFleur: Packers need MarShawn Lloyd to prove what he can do
The Packers spent a third-round draft pick on running back MarShawn Lloyd in 2024, and so far they've gotten nothing out of him: Lloyd has played in only one game, carrying six times for 15 yards and never even picking up a first down in that game.Green Bay was already hoping to get more out of Lloyd in Year 3, but the recent arrest of running back Josh Jacobs and the possibility that Jacobs could be facing NFL discipline means Lloyd could become even more important to the Packers' prospects. Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Lloyd is working hard in the offseason program, but the question is whether he can stay healthy, which he hasn't done so far in his NFL career."He's done a nice job, but we've only had one practice," LaFleur said, via ESPN. "I think the proof will be in the pudding. He’s got to show that consistently over the course of all of OTAs, into training camp, into the preseason, and then we'll see where we go from there."LaFleur said he's hoping Lloyd can prove he's the player the Packers thought they were getting when they drafted him out of USC."I think he's done everything he can in his power to put him in the best possible position," LaFleur said. "He's just going to have to go out there and prove it."

Fertility journeys of footballers in same-sex relationships: ‘I really wanted to carry’
The NWSL has a record number of active mothers rostered, 28, this season. The figure represents a shift in support and understanding around pregnancy, postpartum and parenting. The Athletic explores these topics and more in a series devoted to motherhood and soccer. North Carolina Courage goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan asks her press officer to pass the milk. It is for her daughter, Sky, who is with her in a hospitality box, contently studying her surroundings, which overlook the pitch on which Sheridan plays. It is not usual for the toddler to accompany her mother to work, but today Sheridan’s partner, Dom, is at a wedding, So Sky earns the title as The Athletic’s youngest interviewee, which is fitting given she is the reason for the meeting.Motherhood, and its career impact, can be complex for any athlete, but there are further considerations for those in same-sex couples. The Athletic asked four players from across the world to share their fertility journeys and the choices made along the way, of which there were plenty: who would carry the child or provide the egg; the type of fertility treatment to undertake; and how they would pay for it all. Some couples used licensed fertility clinics and sperm banks, others found donors via apps or friends. All had to work out whether they could afford it — and consider the impact on their soccer careers. In different countries, each with differing regulations, each found a way to build their family. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kailen Sheridan (@kailensheridan)Sheridan’s partner gave birth to Skyler Rae in 2025, using one of Sheridan’s eggs in a co-IVF process. The clinic’s partnership with Sheridan’s former club, San Diego Wave, covered appointments, the egg retrieval and the embryo transfer, while insurance and the pair’s savings paid for medications, hormones and sperm.“I’ve really wanted to carry kids, birth and have that experience,” Sheridan said. “But I knew that with my career, that was going to be difficult. It wasn’t necessarily something that I was going to want to do right away.”Sheridan began taking the hormones for egg retrieval two days before the final game of the NWSL season, with a view to collecting the eggs in the off-season. The process involved hormone injections to stimulate her ovaries. Each woman reacts differently.“As an athlete, that was not ideal, but we had relatively progressive doctors who were saying we just had to listen to our bodies,” explained Sheridan. “I was fine until about day seven or eight, when I started to feel like a beached whale.”She felt nauseous the day following the trigger shot, a pre-collection injection to cue the body to release mature eggs, but was back training a few days after the retrieval was completed. The couple had the eggs genetically screened to “see their strength and viability” and selected at random from the strongest. IVF success rates vary according to age, but 2023 statistics from Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), the UK’s independent regulator of fertility treatment and research, reported a 41 percent pregnancy rate in UK patients aged 18-34. “We’ve put so much work into creating this beautiful embryo and we have to trust that things will work out,” Sheridan said. Sky, conceived their first time trying IVF, was born by emergency C-section after a 12-hour labor.Ash Neville, a right-back for Leicester City in the Women’s Super League (WSL), describes her and partner Lisa’s journey as “a little bit different to other people’s stories.”The couple met when they were both teachers and Neville had yet to turn professional. By the time they sought to expand their family, they were living solely off Neville’s first full-time football wage and had just moved to Bedford, a town roughly 60 miles from London, for her new career.“We were told it was £8,000 ($10,819) for one round of IVF treatment if it was just going to be one of us having the medical procedures,” said Lisa. “If we wanted to do any kind of shared motherhood, it doubled. We just were like: ‘We can’t.’ Not everyone has money sitting in the bank or the facility to go into debt. We kind of DIY’d it.”The couple sourced their donor via an app which pairs couples with sperm donors. In the UK, unregulated sperm donation — also known as private or self-arranged donor insemination — takes place outside of HFEA-licensed clinics. The regulatory body advises against this approach given the possible health, financial and legal risks to mother, father and baby. The Nevilles know women who have experienced issues via the unregulated route, and said they themselves encountered men who were on the app “for the wrong reasons.”At play, though, is systemic inequity around regulated fertility services. The concept of stratified reproduction reflects the disadvantages faced by less wealthy and more marginalized groups when accessing fertility treatment. The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) on Wednesday launched a partnership with Care Fertility, the UK’s largest fertility provider. The partnership will offer male and female professional players access to clinician-led fertility education, assessments, preservation, including egg freezing, in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and family-planning support.Research has found that same-sex couples in the UK often have to pay for up to 12 cycles of donor insemination before they can access funded treatment on the National Health Service (NHS).The average cost of donor sperm in the UK is £1,000 for one vial, according to 2021 BBC figures, and the NHS advises that half of women under 40 using intrauterine insemination (IUI), which is where sperm is inserted directly into the uterus during ovulation, will get pregnant within six cycles. The couple met their eventual donor several times. “We were talking about his background and why he does it,” Neville said. “People always go: ‘What does he get from doing that?’ But I felt really comfortable with it. It took us a while to make sure we found the right person.”Their donor, who provided STI checks and health screening data, fathered both of their two daughters, conceived via at-home insemination with the aid of an ovulation tracking app.“I’m quite open about it,” Neville said. “I’m not ashamed of it at all, because we’ve got two beautiful kids … Once we did it that way and saw it worked, we tried again and conceived straight away.”Neville said she was open to becoming pregnant herself once she retires from playing. But, when they were planning for a family, she was at her career peak. “I always question whether I would be as good if I had a baby and can’t get back,” she said. When the couple’s first daughter was conceived, there were fewer protections for mothers in the WSL, the top tier of women’s football in England, and Neville was the only mother in the Tottenham Hotspur squad at that time. In 2021, the sport’s global governing body, FIFA, and FIFPRO, the global players’ union, introduced new regulations, such as a minimum 14-week maternity paid leave and stronger protections to prevent any contract terminations during pregnancy or maternity leave. “Having things like that in place now reassures more girls I speak to that they are in a better place,” said Neville.Brisbane Roar’s Tameka Yallop and her partner Kirsty had spent their careers playing across the globe when, at about 30, Kirsty felt she had achieved all she’d wanted and was ready to start a family. Yallop, five years younger and witnessing the game’s building momentum, wasn’t ready to retire. That “made the decision” of who would carry, Yallop said.“We had talked about how we both want to attempt carrying and it was more: if one of us can’t, we’re lucky to have a second person that could,” she added. The Australian health system at that time had referral options to public clinics for heterosexual couples with fertility issues but little for lesbian couples, Yallop explained. They went private, sourcing sperm via a clinic, and Kirsty finished her first egg collection before the couple’s wedding.Daughter Harley was born at the height of the pandemic in Kirsty’s native New Zealand. Border closures while the couple were visiting Kirsty’s parents saw them remain in New Zealand for eight months, sleeping in a single-bed spare room while the nursery was painted and untouched in Australia. As she was not a New Zealand citizen, Yallop could leave the country to play in the Tokyo Olympics but was not allowed to re-enter at that point, so she spent a season in England at West Ham United before returning to New Zealand. The silver lining was that Yallop had time to collect her own eggs. She had so many in one ovary that she could “barely sit down — any sort of compression on my midsection was excruciating.” She modified her pre-season training to account for her discomfort, taking two days off after the collection and returning to a full program within two weeks. The plan was for Kirsty to carry Yallop’s eggs. “For Kirsty, because she fell pregnant so easily the first time, it was going in and anticipating it would happen again,” Yallop said. For whatever reason, it didn’t.Their consultant had told them IVF offered a 25 percent chance of pregnancy. Yallop estimates that eight cycles followed. Each disappointment brought more questions. “Could we afford it? How long could we afford it for? How many embryos did we have? How many do we want to use in one go? How much could Kirsty handle — because every time you do it, it is an emotional rollercoaster. You need time to physically recover and then emotionally recover.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tameka Yallop (Butt) (@tamekayallop)The couple were down to Kirsty’s final embryo, and the “last time Kirsty was willing to go through the experience,” Yallop explained. “We were at that point where it was, like: ‘If it doesn’t happen, then we look at myself and my football career.’”Second daughter Nova was born in 2025. Kirsty is “finished having babies now,” Yallop said. Some of Yallop’s embryos remain frozen and she is open to trying to conceive should the couple want a third, but is realistic about the prospect following an endometriosis diagnosis during the couple’s fertility treatment.“I was already at a point where I was, like: I’m fine if I don’t ever carry, but I would like to be a mum,” Yallop said. “I don’t need that physical component to be able to share the love that I have to give. If we’re in a space where we could have a third baby and it doesn’t happen for me, we would look at other options of how we could help another child.”The Nevilles are not the only couple to have taken a more personal approach to sourcing sperm. The PSV and Netherlands forward Shanice van de Sanden and her partner, Tatjiana, had been browsing sperm banks recommended by a clinic in their native Netherlands but were uncomfortable with how little they would know about the person who would be fathering their child. “The only thing you see is pictures from when they were young,” van de Sanden said.Van de Sanden said she met the man who would become their donor through her work on a marketing campaign and found that their morals aligned. She had no qualms about asking him: “He was very chill and open.”He paid for his part in the process and both parties asked lawyers to draw up a contract, which van de Sanden said stipulates that he must tell them if he has more children, that they will never ask him for money, and the children will one day be allowed to contact him. “For me, that was very important,” van de Sanden said of the latter. “I didn’t really grow up with my dad. When I was 12, I started being very sad about it because I couldn’t ask him questions. I knew who he was, but he was never really around me and I don’t want my kids to have this pain.”At their clinic, they underwent assessments with psychologists, numerous appointments and tests. “In normal life, men and women — they can just make a child, even if they do drugs or they’re alcoholics, and they’d never have to go to a psychologist,” van de Sanden said. “That was an eye-opener. Whoa! You have to do so much when you are in love with a girl.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Shanice Van De Sanden (@svandesanden)They always knew Tatjana would carry, using her egg first as she is two years older than van de Sanden. That the first egg retrieval overlapped with the summer of a major tournament also influenced the decision to delay until a summer when van de Sanden would already be on a break from training. The first embryo was implanted while van de Sanden was in England, seeing out the WSL season with Liverpool, and she returned home to a ‘baby on the way’ present as the pair gleefully discussed plans for a home birth. Their first child was born in November 2023 and their second, using van de Sanden’s egg, this year.Like other players who spoke to The Athletic, she hopes sharing her story will help normalize the experience. She advises couples to enter the process without preconceptions.“Just experience it yourself,“ she said. ”You can ask so many people, but everybody is different. It’s normal to be scared because it’s something new. You’re going to bring a little human being into this world. If you have too many opinions from other people, you get even more scared.“You need to make your own story in that way.”This article originally appeared in The Athletic.Soccer, Women's Soccer, Culture2026 The Athletic Media Company

Gamification and memes lure young people to sports wagering apps, prediction markets
A phone displays crypto prices on the Kalshi app on April 16, 2026, in Portland, Ore. (AP Photo/Jenny Kane, File)2026-05-28T10:00:06Z When Rory McIlroy won the Masters for the second year in a row, Kalshi shared a photo of him on Instagram with the words, “Wait he’s goated.” When a video of NBA player Damian Lillard recovering from an injury circulated online, Kalshi’s main competitor Polymarket posted, “The league is cooked.”If you don’t know what either of those phrases mean, it’s because you may not be the target audience. The posts and hundreds of others like it are exposing younger people to prediction market platforms, where users can put money on the line for the outcomes of real-world events — or absurd ones like when the U.S. will confirm that aliens exist or whether Jesus Christ will return before 2027.Once on the platforms, companies keep users hooked with what they market as low-stakes, casual opportunities to make an easy buck, creating an environment that some say feels more like a game and less like a risky financial transaction with potentially harmful consequences. Indeed, recent academic research looking at 588 million trades on Polymarket found that profits were concentrated to just a very small group of top traders while the majority of users — 69% — lost money. Kalshi, Polymarket and some sports wagering platforms are available to users starting at 18, mirroring the minimum age requirement for investing in the stock market but younger than the age limit of 21 for gambling in most U.S. states. That three-year window is critical to cognitive development, according to some experts, who note that teens and young adults are more vulnerable to developing problematic gambling behavior and addiction than older adults. “The adults in the room are not taking the fact this is meant to be an adult activity seriously, so when adults don’t take it seriously, why would the kids?” said Dr. Timothy Fong, an addiction psychiatrist and the co-director of the UCLA Gambling Studies Program, who notes that the “velocity of gambling” combined with the “frictionless” access to it creates a dangerous slope for young people. Read More Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., introduced legislation last week with Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Con., that would bar social media companies and advertisers from showing sports betting ads to minors. Blumenthal said sportsbooks and prediction markets are “treating young people like a gold rush, flooding the internet with advertisements and promotions to hook them on gambling when they’re young.” Hot air balloon diving, chimps and memesThe humorous, meme-driven approach by both prediction markets and sports wagering platforms is not simply in pursuit of social media clout but a deliberate, carefully curated strategy to reach young people, says Jason Levin, the founder of Memelord Technologies. His company offers marketing tools like meme templates he says both Polymarket and Kalshi have used. “If you want to attract a younger audience, you’re going to use memes. You’re going to use unhinged humor,” Levin said. “You’re going to try to get in front of them by any means necessary.”One recent Polymarket ad on Meta’s social media platforms shows an influencer hanging off a hot air balloon before letting go and plummeting. Another from Kalshi shows chimpanzees wearing suits in party settings. And Fliff — a free-to-play platform that calls itself a “social sportsbook” — uses a common meme template of a car dashing to make an exit on the highway. Ads for these platforms also appear on mobile games and in several other places online where they can reach young people. Kalshi spokesperson Jack Such told The Associated Press memes are “just a part of corporate branding nowadays” and their usage isn’t necessarily related to the age of potential viewers. The average age of a Kalshi user is 33, Such said. Polymarket declined to comment. ‘The hardest wager to get is the first wager’About 3 in 10 of American adults under 30 said they placed a sports bet in the past year, according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted in summer 2025. About 2 in 10 Americans under 30 — including 21% of men and 16% of women in that age group — said they wagered online in that period, up from 7% three years earlier.Prediction markets have tried to distinguish themselves from gambling by emphasizing that their users aren’t placing bets; they’re making a prediction on the probable outcome of an event. And because the platforms are regulated by the federal government via the the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, they are not subject to state-level restrictions or bans in place for traditional gambling and sports betting, including higher age limits. But even some online sports wagering platforms are open to users starting at 18, including Fliff, which doesn’t require users to pay to participate, emphasizing the entertainment value instead. Many of these platforms operate on a sweepstakes-based model, making them accessible to users 18 and older in many U.S. states. Users are not technically required to pay to use these platforms but are often incentivized to do so if they want to see a real-money payout. Stephen Findeisen, a YouTuber with more than 4 million subscribers who goes by Coffeezilla online and investigates internet scams, said the motivation behind appealing to young users is the possibility of gaining loyal, long-term customers.“If you’re one of these platforms, you are incentivized to try to target them as soon as you can get them as a customer, so you can be the first kind of business they engage with in that space,” Findeisen said. Many platforms also offer a low monetary entry point for placing bets or making predictions to “lower the friction of getting involved” since “the hardest wager to get is the first wager,” he said. For young people, that can come with big downsides. Paris Woods, an author and financial educator, said that around age 18 is the most important time to start becoming financially stable and building long-term wealth. But gambling and trading on prediction markets can create a “cycle of addiction and debt.” “It’s not just eroding the present and sort of taking their hard-earned money out of their hands at 18 or 19, but it’s actually taking money out of that 40 or 50-year-old version of themselves,” Woods said. Borrowing from video game featuresRisky financial behaviors like sports wagering are reinforced by the rush of a win, or simply if they’re fun. Gamified features such as leaderboards, challenges and rewards, and other video game-like tools are built into some sports wagering platforms. Those, in turn, keep people on platforms longer and more intensely engaged, said Adrian Hon, a game designer and author of “You’ve Been Played.”“They tighten the loop of setting a bet and getting the feedback,” Hon said. “And so it does make it more visceral. It makes it more exciting. It makes it more real-time.”Fliff, for instance, is designed with bright colors and engaging art. Users can customize an avatar to represent themselves and write a bio on their account page where their statistics are displayed. They can gain followers, chat with others, move up the leaderboard and earn achievement badges. Fliff said in a statement that it provides a “fun, social and rewarding experience” for users to compete in free-to-play games, while also “taking measures to ensure this activity is done responsibly.” The average age of a user who makes a purchase is 26, the company said. The “social gaming experience” on Fliff has many “no-cost avenues for users to participate in predictions and engage in friendly competition,” the statement continued. “Our in-app social features are similar to those that exist more broadly within many consumer applications.”Kalshi and Polymarket each have leaderboards on their platforms as well as comment sections where users can interact with each other through text and even GIFs. Kalshi’s Such said those functions help users make trades with as much information as possible and called them “core elements” of the platform. Zelenskyy heads to Sweden as Ukraine touts drone expertise honed in war with Russia
A Ukrainian soldier prepares an interceptor drone during a Russia's aerial attack at an undisclosed location near Kharkiv, Ukraine, Monday, May 25, 2026. (AP Photo/Andrii Marienko)2026-05-28T09:53:20Z KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was in Sweden on Thursday for talks with Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on bilateral defense cooperation, the Ukrainian leader and the Swedish government said. The two countries are preparing “a major defense package” and working on a deal to provide Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine, Zelenskyy said on social media. The Ukrainian leader has sought to deepen defense cooperation with other countries by offering the drone expertise his country has built up over more than four years fighting against Russia’s invasion.Zelenskyy says Ukrainian specialists have helped countries in the Middle East — specifically the Gulf Arab region — strengthen their air defenses amid the Iran war. They have helped at American military bases in the Mideast as well, he says. Ukraine has also entered into joint drone production agreements with countries in the European Union, which fears that Russian President Vladimir Putin has military ambitions beyond Ukraine. Ukrainian drones that patrol the 1,250-kilometer (780-mile) front line and strike deeper at supply routes have pinned back Russia’s bigger army. “Ukraine’s successful mid-range and front-line drone strike campaigns are limiting Russia’s ability to transport personnel to the front line and to supply and sustain front-line positions,” the Institute for the Study of War, a Washington-based think tank, said in an assessment late Wednesday. Read More Russia has occupied about 20% of Ukraine so far. That includes the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia seized in 2014. The cost of capturing that land has been huge, with the head of U.K.’s GCHQ intelligence agency saying Wednesday that almost half a million Russian soldiers have been killed in the conflict.Russia, however, still has an edge in long-range ballistic missiles, which it has used throughout the war to damage Ukraine’s power grid and hammer cities. Russian forces fired almost 90 missiles as well as hundreds of drones at Kyiv last weekend in an effort to overwhelm air defenses as part of its escalating long-range aerial campaign on civilian areas of Ukraine.Zelenskyy has written to U.S. President Donald Trump and Congress asking for more American-made air defense ammunition to counter Russian ballistic missiles, Kyiv officials said Wednesday.Ukraine needs more U.S. Patriot PAC-3 missiles and other air defense systems, Zelenskyy said in the letter, warning that deliveries to Ukraine are falling dangerously short as the Iran war diverts U.S. stocks. The Ukrainian capital is bracing for further heavy bombardments. But no foreign diplomats are known to have heeded Moscow’s recommendation to leave Kyiv ahead of what the Russian Foreign Ministry said earlier this week would be “systemic strikes” on Kyiv. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said Thursday that all diplomatic missions in the capital have continued operations.___Follow the AP’s coverage of the war in Ukraine at https://apnews.com/hub/russia-ukraine

New Texas A&M WR duo named 6th best in the country
Texas A&M's 2026 roster will look somewhat different after a record ten players were selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, including star transfer wide receiver KC Concepcion. Returning for his third season under center, redshirt junior quarterback Marcel Reed is coming off a career year, throwing for 3,169 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. After transferring from Mississippi State before the 2025 season, wide receiver Mario Craver exploded on the scene, quickly transforming into one of the top receivers in the country after shredding Notre Dame's defense for a career-high 207 yards, including his electric 86-yard touchdown reception. Possessing elite speed and NFL-level route running, Craver's 5'9" frame fits perfectly in the slot and is in need of a reliable X receiver with the size for 50/50 balls, leading to Elko and new OC Holmon Wiggins adding former Alabama WR Isaiah Horton, who is 6'4" and recorded eight touchdowns during his one season with the Crimson Tide.Together, combined with Ashton Bethel-Roman and Terry Bussey, Texas A&M's 2026 wide receiver rotation is borderline elite, and the combination of Craver's speed and Horton's size provides the Aggies a significant edge in the passing game, and allows Marcel Reed to take more deep shots and allowing Craver to make plays after the catch. Unsurprisingly, Roc Boys Football named Mario Craver and Isaiah Horton the 6th best wide receiver duo in the country entering the 2026 season, and could be the reason Texas A&M makes it back to the College Football Playoff for the second straight season. Blue-chip cornerback names FSU a top six school
Dayon Cooper is currently the only cornerback commitment that the Florida State Seminoles have in the 2027 recruiting cycle, something that they are working to change. They received some good news on Tuesday, with Kamil Loud naming them one of his final six schools.FSU will have plenty of competition for the four-star prospect, who is also considering the California Bears, Auburn Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Utah Utes, and Washington Huskies. Loud is from Las Vegas, Nevada, and attends the national powerhouse, Bishop Gorman. While it will likely be tough to pull Loud so far away from home, the Seminoles will have a shot. He visited Tallahassee back in April, his first time visiting since they offered him a scholarship in January. They are not currently on his official visit schedule, with him set to see Washington (May 29), Arizona State (June 5), and Utah (June 13).Loud is ranked as the No. 403 overall player and No. 40 cornerback in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 3 player from Nevada. He has impressive bloodlines. His father, Kamil, played for the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL before playing in the CFL.ALL GLORY TO GOD!!! @BrandonHuffman@BlairAngulo@DemetricDWarren@adamgorney@Benwik21@ttherzog@CoachBriscoeWR@702HSFB@CraigHaubert@GusMcNair009pic.twitter.com/HrDIx9hvFX— Kamil Loud (@kamloudd) May 26, 2026Follow us @FSUWire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Florida State news, notes and opinions. This article originally appeared on FSU Wire: FSU Football: Kamil Loud names Seminoles a top school

Yankees Voice Expects New York Star To ‘Suffer’ For Donald Trump Decision
NEW YORK, NY - SEPTEMBER 01: A New York Yankees logo is shown in the on-deck circle before the start of the game against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium on September 1, 2017 in New York City. The Red Sox won 4-1. (Photo by Corey Perrine/Getty Images)Getty ImagesAs one of the most popular and lucrative franchises in professional sports, the New York Yankees typically try to remain apolitical, at least formally. But U.S. President Donald Trump has underscored his deep ties to the franchise through former owner George Steinbrenner, who was a friend of Trump’s. Since becoming president, Trump has been outspoken about his affection for Steinbrenner and the team and he visited the team’s clubhouse after a game to commemorate 9/11 last year.More recently, he even leveraged a White House visit from a championship soccer team to discuss the franchise.“Musing on sports while welcoming Lionel Messi and MLS champion Inter Miami to the White House… Trump mentioned that when ‘baseball was hot as a pistol,’ he used to sit with late New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner and watch games,” Jesse Yomtov wrote for USA Today. “Trump joked that watching three-hour games with Steinbrenner was the hardest thing he ever had to do. ‘(Steinbrenner) liked me, I liked him and we both liked nobody else,’ Trump said.”FORBES | By Peter ChawagaGiants’ Former Backstop, World Series Coach, Dead At 64 After Cancer BattleNew York Yankees Broadcaster Calls For New York Giants’ Quarterback To ‘Suffer’ After Endorsing President Donald Trump But even though the president is an outspoken fan of the franchise, not all of those prominent figures around the Yankees have embraced him back.Discussing a recent live rally introduction for Trump courtesy of New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, Yankees announcer Michael Kay suggested that endorsing the president is far from a universally popular decision.“You could do stuff behind the scenes if you like a candidate. You could donate money... But instead, he tried to be front-facing about it,” Kay said of Dart’s introduction during a recent episode of his ESPN New York radio show. “So then you have to suffer the consequence because what you’re doing is that you’re endorsing and appearing at a rally for one of the most polarizing political figures in the entire 250-year history of the United States.”FORBES | By Peter ChawagaDodgers’ Mookie Betts Calls For More Support, ‘It Just Sucks’New York Yankees Voice Michael Kay Defends Critics Of President Donald Trump FanKay is best known for his role as the Yankees’ play-by-play broadcaster on the YES Network, which is partially owned by the team’s holding company, which was founded by Steinbrenner.Discussing the rally, Kay zeroed in on Dart’s teammate, Abdul Carter, who publicly criticized the quarterback’s endorsement.“He could support whoever he wants and let the chips fall where they may,” Kay added. “And I, unlike others, don’t have a problem with what Abdul Carter said because it was public what Jaxson Dart did and then Abdul Carter made it public as well.”By pointing out the double standard, though, the Yankees broadcast voice seemed to suggest that Dart will inevitably receive some criticism for his support of the president, who himself is an outspoken supporter of the Yankees. This article was originally published on Forbes.com

Steve Clarke has led Scotland to a first men's World Cup in 28 years [PA Media]Head coach Steve Clarke has signed a new Scotland contract to cover the next two World Cups and the 2028 Euros. The 62-year-old's future was in doubt despite following up back-to-back Euros qualifications by leading the nation to their first World Cup since 1998.However, just over two weeks until Scotland kick off their tournament schedule against Haiti in Boston, Clarke has committed to another four years in charge."I am truly honoured to lead my squad into our first men's World Cup in 28 years and I'm proud to continue as head coach," he said."I know the Scotland supporters appreciate the achievements of this group in qualifying for back-to-back Euros and equally sure the whole nation rejoiced in our qualification for World Cup 2026 after such a long time."It's very important to look ahead and, while my squad will be doing everything in their power to make the country proud in the America this summer, it also gives us certainty knowing that we can look to build on those foundations for the long-term."It is a privilege to continue in this role."[BBC]More to follow.

R Ashwin fumes at SRH batting collapse, advises 'management to think' Travis Head’s future
Ravichandran Ashwin strongly criticised Sunrisers Hyderabad’s reckless batting approach following their 47-run defeat to Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2026 Eliminator, even suggesting that the franchise management may need to make a tough call regarding Travis Head’s future.Chasing a massive target of 244, SRH’s explosive batting line-up crumbled under pressure during a disastrous powerplay collapse. Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger tore through the top order as Hyderabad slipped to 57/4 inside the first five overs, effectively derailing the chase.Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck in Archer’s opening over, while Ishan Kishan’s aggressive cameo of 33 off just 11 balls ended prematurely after what Ashwin described as an unnecessary shot. Smaran Ravichandran fell cheaply, before Archer delivered the biggest blow by clean-bowling Travis Head for 17 off eight balls.Despite fighting knocks from Nitish Kumar Reddy (38 off 20) and Salil Arora (35 off 21), SRH never fully recovered from the early collapse and were eventually bowled out for 196 in 19.2 overs.Reacting to the defeat on his YT channel 'Ash Ki baat', Ashwin slammed SRH’s shot selection and lack of game awareness in such a high-pressure knockout clash.“I think SRH could have won this match quite easily. When they had already scored around 32-34 runs in the first two overs and nearly 50 in the first three overs, Ishan Kishan’s shot was completely unnecessary. He threw his wicket away,” Ashwin said.“There was absolutely no meaning to playing such a shot in such a big match. It was a very poor shot,” he added. Ashwin was particularly critical of Travis Head’s season and hinted that SRH management should reassess his role moving forward.“Travis Head has not performed at all this season. The management definitely needs to think about Travis Head. He should have played more responsibly. There was no point in getting out by playing such a poor shot,” Ashwin added. The veteran spinner felt SRH still had a realistic chance while Nitish Kumar Reddy was at the crease, but the constant loss of wickets made the massive chase impossible.“SRH were still in the match until the 14th over when Nitish Kumar Reddy was batting. But if you keep losing so many wickets, you can never chase such a huge total.“If SRH had shown a little more game awareness and played with calmer minds, they could have won this match comfortably. Honestly, it was a very poor batting performance from the SRH team,” he concluded.

An inside look at Rutgers hosting Senegal as a World Cup base camp
PISCATAWAY – The Kentucky bluegrass is looking immaculate at Rutgers University’s Miller Family Soccer Complex. It has to be, because a participant in the globe’s biggest sporting event is about to move in.The Senegal national soccer team, which is ranked 14th in the world by FIFA and the reigning Africa Cup of Nations champion (a disputed matter – more on that in a bit), will use Rutgers as base camp during the World Cup. The delegation will utilize the Scarlet Knights’ men’s and women’s soccer locker rooms, weight room, sports medicine center and team meeting space inside of the Gary and Barbara Rodkin Academic Success Center. The collaboration is seven years in the making and the product of an extensive vetting process, right down to the blades of grass.“It’s historic for us,” deputy athletic director Matthew Colagiovanni said. “It’s an opportunity to get the best in the world to come here and train at our facilities and to showcase what our fields and our building are.”Why Senegal chose RutgersRutgers is one of four base camps in New Jersey for the 2026 World Cup, which includes games at the Meadowlands and in Philadelphia. Brazil will be setting up at the Red Bulls’ facility in Morris Township, Morocco at the Pingry School in Bernards (which hosted Italy during the 1994 World Cup), and Haiti at Stockton University in Galloway. The university’s involvement began in 2019, when Meadowlands officials reached out to gauge the athletic department’s interest in taking part. Base sites were chosen due to a couple of factors, first being geography. Senegal opens group-stage play June 16 against France at the Meadowlands, then faces Norway at the Meadowlands June 22 before wrapping up Group I action in Toronto June 26 against Iraq.Once the group draw was known, delegations from national teams slotted to play in the region began scouring potential base camps (the FIFA world rankings served as a pecking order for the choices). Rutgers hosted a dozen such visits and the staff knew exactly what to showcase, having hosted Portuguese club FC Porto during last summer’s Club World Cup as well as other touring international sides in the past. “They really like coming here because of one, our practice fields are top class, but also our facility is close-knit – they can walk right onto the fields from the locker rooms,” said Dan Ryan, Rutgers’ senior associate athletic director for facilities, events and operations. “They’ve told us it’s one of the best they’ve seen.”The setup is ideal for security and privacy purposes. The soccer complex consists of two full practice fields that are fully enclosed. No one has set foot on them for six weeks – except FIFA inspectors.“They basically test the grass every week,” Ryan said.'Rutgers Welcomes the World'Senegal has been one of Africa’s most successful footballing nations over the past few decades. “The Lions of Teranga,” as they are nicknamed, advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2002 World Cup and are making a third straight appearance in the event.Earlier this year they defeated Morocco 1-0 in the Africa Cup of Nationals final, but that triumph later was declared a forfeit because Senegal players and coaches left the field for 15 minutes during stoppage time after a controversial call and an attempt by Morocco fans to storm the pitch. The matter is under appeal with the international Court of Arbitration for Sport.Right now there are bigger fish to fry. The Senegal national team, whose players will be staying in downtown New Brunswick, is expected to arrive sometime during the week before their June 16 opener. There will be some sort of pep rally-style reception involving Rutgers’ band and spirit teams and perhaps a jersey exchange. Clips will be all over social media (FIFA will put up its own branding on the practice pitches). In addition, expect to see “Rutgers Welcomes the World” billboards on the roadways and banners flying above Jersey’s beaches over the next several weeks.“Hopefully this will lead to other partnerships in the future,” Colagiovanni said.Senegal’s practices will be closed to onlookers. Whether there are any small-scale public events involving their stay at Rutgers is yet to be determined. The length of the delegation’s stay depends on how far the team advances. It could be over a month. One thing is certain for the folks who are hosting.“We’re all Senegal fans now,” Ryan said.Jerry Carino has covered the New Jersey sports scene since 1996 and the college basketball beat since 2003. Lamar Jackson is enjoying building chemistry with OC Declan Doyle
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson described the organization's new offensive direction as "a breath of fresh air" while discussing his growing relationship with offensive coordinator Declan Doyle during organized team activities on Wednesday. Speaking publicly for the first time since Baltimore's season-ending loss in Pittsburgh, Jackson offered an enthusiastic early assessment of the offense Doyle is installing as the Ravens continue to reshape portions of their offensive identity heading into the 2026 season.Jackson acknowledged that the transition has brought significant changes throughout the offense, but he emphasized that the adjustments have energized both him and the rest of the unit during the early stages of offseason work."Everything is new," Jackson said, later describing the changes as "a breath of fresh air.".@Lj_era8 on what it’s like working with Offensive Coordinator Declan Doyle pic.twitter.com/lXQCCFgUzU— Baltimore Ravens (@Ravens) May 27, 2026The Ravens hired Doyle to oversee an offense expected to continue evolving around Jackson's dual-threat skill set while incorporating new concepts and personnel flexibility. Doyle arrives in Baltimore after spending time in Chicago and now becomes the fourth primary play-caller Jackson has worked with during his nine-year NFL career, joining Todd Monken, Greg Roman, and Marty Mornhinweg.According to Jackson, the transition has been smooth."I'm having fun with it," Jackson said. "All of us are having fun with the new system and what he sees on the field and what he sees on film. It's smooth. Just know I love it and everyone else loves it."One of the most significant developments appears to be the collaborative relationship between Jackson and Doyle as the two continue to build communication throughout the installation process. Jackson said Doyle has made it a priority to involve him heavily in offensive discussions and planning, something the quarterback believes will help both the offense and their overall partnership moving forward."He wants me to be involved a lot," Jackson said. "That's why I believe Coach Jesse brought him along, and we're having fun with it."The Ravens believe that level of communication could become especially important as Doyle takes over play-calling responsibilities for the first time at the NFL level. Jackson said understanding Doyle's thought process and tendencies should ultimately help him operate more efficiently on the field."It means a lot, because I feel like I should know what Coach Doyle is thinking when he is calling certain plays on the field," Jackson said. "So, it should make my job a lot easier."Head coach Jesse Minter also praised Jackson's progress during Wednesday's practice while noting the importance of continued repetition as the offense develops timing and familiarity within the new structure."He's been here a lot, so it's not like it's the first time hearing some of these plays, but it's the first time being able to run them at some speed with defense out there," Minter said. "Every play is a great advantage for him to keep getting better and keep learning."Baltimore enters the 2026 season with substantial expectations after another playoff appearance and an offseason focused on strengthening the roster around Jackson. The Ravens added rookie wide receivers Elijah Sarratt and Ja'Kobi Lane during the draft while continuing to build offensive flexibility around established veterans such as Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers, and Mark Andrews.Jackson remains at the center of all those plans. The two-time MVP continues adapting to another offensive voice while maintaining the playmaking ability that has defined one of the NFL's most productive careers. Based on his early comments regarding Doyle and the offensive transition, the Ravens quarterback appears energized by both the collaboration and the direction of the offense as Baltimore continues preparations for the upcoming season. This article originally appeared on Ravens Wire: Lamar Jackson is embracing Ravens offense under Declan Doyle

Nebraska’s Jordy Frahm is living a dream, and she’s ready for one more championship chapter
She’s 23 now, and much around her has changed since the last time Jordy Frahm appeared in the Women’s College World Series.Faces have come and gone in softball. An injury extended Frahm’s career by one season. She got married. But the dream remains.Last Saturday, another chapter came to life as Frahm walked to home plate, the leadoff batter in the top of the first inning with a trip to Oklahoma City on the line for Nebraska at its home park.On a sun-drenched afternoon in Game 2 of Super Regional play, a helicopter, painted red with a white “N” on the rotor mast, circled above the field that Frahm visited as a kid from her home up the highway in Papillion, Neb. Glove-carrying girls draped in Frahm jerseys watched throughout the crowd of 3,451. Fans jostled for a few inches of space on packed berms in left field.Since she opted three years ago to transfer home to Nebraska after winning two national championships at Oklahoma, every expectation for Nebraska softball, every idea, every dream has expanded.Named this week as the player of the year by USA Softball and the NFCA and a first-team NFCA All-American — the 14th player to earn the honor four times in a career — Frahm (formerly Jordy Bahl) has energized the Nebraska program as a two-way star and ignited new passion for the sport in her home state.“From the day that she stepped on this campus, she raised the level of intensity and focus,” Nebraska coach Rhonda Revelle said. “And she brings that with her wherever she goes. It’s just how she’s wired.”Riding a school-record and nation-leading 26-game winning streak, Nebraska (51-6) opens play in the WCWS Thursday night at 9:30 (ET) against Arkansas. The Huskers, in their first visit to Devon Park since 2013, rate among the favorites, with perennial power OU absent and 2025 finalists Texas and Texas Tech in the bracket opposite Nebraska. With Frahm and freshman pitching star Alexis Jensen as a 1-2 punch, Nebraska in February split two games against the Longhorns and beat the Red Raiders while playing the most difficult nonconference schedule in the country. Then the Huskers rolled to a 23-1 Big Ten mark and beat WCWS-bound UCLA for the third time in four meetings to win the conference tournament.By the time Frahm relieved Jensen in the fifth and final inning Saturday, the Huskers had embraced their destiny. They dispatched Oklahoma State 8-1 and 9-1 in the Super Regional.NEBRASKA IS HEADING TO THEIR 8TH WCWS 🥳#RoadToWCWS x 🎥 ESPN / @HuskerSoftballpic.twitter.com/s6u8OkKqEB— NCAA Softball (@NCAASoftball) May 23, 2026Top-seeded Alabama or a fifth matchup against UCLA and record-breaking slugger Megan Grant awaits in Oklahoma City after the Arkansas game.“I feel like we’re going to do just fine,” said Frahm, the Most Outstanding Player at the 2023 WCWS. “We’ve played in big moments, high pressure, energizing settings this year. And we just keep our heads down, and we keep working.”The Huskers are not a “Jordy show,” said Revelle, the head coach since 1992. But Frahm’s massive impact over the last three years is undeniable. The Gatorade National Player of the Year out of Papillion-La Vista High School in 2021, Frahm had committed to the home-state Huskers as a freshman in 2017. But with Revelle under investigation in 2019 after allegations by players of mistreatment and a toxic culture, Frahm flipped to Oklahoma.Revelle was exonerated. But damage extended beyond the loss of Frahm. Other high school stars left the state. When Frahm chose to come home, many of them followed. They built a core of leaders for this 2026 squad, emboldened by their long paths home and deep connections that predated their college careers.Bella Bacon, an Omahan, transferred to Nebraska from Purdue in the same cycle as Frahm.“When people got into the portal, (they) would take a call from me because we have Jordy on the roster,” Revelle said. “We’ve just kind of systematically been able to add pieces and build it around Jordy.”"I love that woman." 🥹#RoadToWCWS x 🎥 ESPN2 / @HuskerSoftballpic.twitter.com/tSkjEJ4SgY— NCAA Softball (@NCAASoftball) May 22, 2026Frahm suffered an ACL tear in the 2024 season opener. She redshirted, but the momentum did not slow.Kacie Hoffmann and twins Lauren and Hannah Camenzind, also from Omaha, transferred home two years ago after two seasons at Arkansas. Ava Kuszak, a Colorado high school graduate who played club softball with the Nebraskans, joined the Huskers in 2024 from Wisconsin. All of them play key roles.“They were girls that, in the beginning, wanted to be Huskers,” said Todd Peterson, Frahm’s high school coach. “Jordy coming back — and looking at what they could build — it made a lot of sense.”Last year, catcher Jesse Farrell came from UNLV. Her 17 home runs rank second to Frahm in 2026. And Frahm’s freshman roommate at OU from 2022, Hannah Coor, jumped aboard. In the Super Regional clincher, Coor homered, doubled and made a diving catch in center field.“I don’t think I’ll ever have the right words for this feeling,” Coor said after the latest win. “But it’s very surreal, and I couldn’t be more proud to represent Nebraska with these guys.”From Yorba Linda, Calif., Coor said she told her parents, upon deciding to leave Oklahoma for Nebraska last year, that she didn’t care if she won another softball game. She wanted to take a “leap of faith” in her final collegiate season.“I found that here,” Coor said. “And we also win, which is pretty cool. But that’s just an added blessing. I was really just looking for my last year to be filled with joy. And (to play) with my friend Jordy.”Revelle aims to stay out of the Huskers’ way. They are led by the players. The head coach and her staff have corrected effort and focus only a few times since the preseason in January, Revelle said. Twelve seniors and 11 Huskers competing for their home state on a 23-player roster keep this team on track.Frahm and Coor spoke to their teammates Monday about playing in Oklahoma City at a 13,000-seat stadium. The setting is new. But nothing else has to change.“In the biggest moments, we just lean on each other,” Kuszak said.Frahm stands at the center for Nebraska. Her 90 career wins in the circle instill confidence in teammates who’ve not played on this stage. She’s ready to experience another chapter of the dream.“I couldn’t have scripted this,” Frahm said. “Nobody could have scripted this.”This article originally appeared in The Athletic.Nebraska Cornhuskers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, College Football, College Sports, Women's College Sports2026 The Athletic Media Company

Has there ever been a better bargain signing for Liverpool than Andy Robertson?
Has there ever been a better bargain signing for Liverpool than Andy Robertson?Andy Robertson arrived at Liverpool in 2017 as a left-field signing from Hull City (literally and figuratively), and he bade farwell to Anfield last Sunday as a genuine modern-day legend.Just like they did with Gini Wijnaldum and Newcastle a year previously, the Reds took advantage of the Tigers’ relegation from the Premier League by snapping up the Scottish left-back for an initial outlay of £8m. Even with add-ons included, the overall deal amounted to a paltry £10m (BBC Sport).Nine years, 378 appearances and nine trophies later, it’d be quite the understatement to proclaim that the Merseysiders reaped maximum return for minimal outlay, and you can do the same with Fishin Frenzy at Virgin Games.Robertson made himself undroppable for LiverpoolIt’s staggering to think now that Robertson wasn’t an automatic selection for Liverpool in his first season at the club. Until December, he had to bide his time behind Alberto Moreno before injury to the Spaniard gave the former Hull defender his opportunity – and he never looked back. His relentless pressing in the epic 4-3 win over Manchester City in January 2018 told the world what he was about – full-blooded commitment and desire, and no little quality to go alongside it.(Photo by Shaun Botterill/Getty Images)By the time the Reds made it to the Champions League final that year, the Scotland international had the left-back berth well and truly nailed down. Fast forward another 12 months, and he was a European champion while Moreno moved on from Anfield.Robertson gave Liverpool fans so many great momentsRobertson’s adoration from the Kop grew even further in the opening minutes of the legendary 4-0 triumph over Barcelona in 2019, ruffling Lionel Messi’s hair whilst the Argentine sat on the ground, sending a clear message that Liverpool were here to create history and not to meekly surrender to their illustrious opponents.Kostas Tsimikas arrived as the Scot’s understudy the following year, but aside from occasional rotation from Jurgen Klopp, the pecking order was quite apparent. The Reds’ number 26 gave us another memorable glimpse into his elite mentality during the famous 5-0 thrashing of Manchester United at Old Trafford in October 2021 when, just after Liverpool scored their fifth early in the second half, he roared at his teammates to ‘keep going’ and ‘be ruthless’.In the latter part of his Anfield career, Robertson had some sporadic off-days, none more so than the 2-2 draw at home to Fulham in December 2024 when he was culpable for an early Andreas Pereira goal and then sent off after just 17 minutes.Robertson bows out as a genuine Liverpool legendThe Scotland captain saw his game-time reduced significantly in what turned out to be his final campaign with LFC as Arne Slot frequently preferred new signing Milos Kerkez at left-back.However, that change in status did nothing to discolour Liverpool fans’ affection for the 32-year-old, who – along with Mo Salah – was rightly given a raucous send-off at Anfield after the season-ending 1-1 draw against Brentford last Sunday. The Reds have enjoyed their share of bargain transfers over the years, but rarely (if ever) have they gotten so much bang for their buck with the £8m capture of Robertson in 2017. What felt like a cut-price fee at the time has gone on to seem like daylight robbery, considering the impact that the legendary Scotsman would have for LFC.

Brian Mafe sees the hunger in Bengals’ defense
Sep 15, 2024; Foxborough, Massachusetts, USA; Seattle Seahawks linebacker Boye Mafe (53) tackles New England Patriots running back JaMycal Hasty (39) during the first half at Gillette Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Brian Fluharty-Imagn Images | Brian Fluharty-Imagn Images When quarterback Joe Burrow publicly praised the Cincinnati Bengals’ defensive line last week, it raised some eyebrows. Now, one of the newest members of that unit is echoing the same message from inside the locker room. According to comments shared by WLWT, Boye Mafe said the hunger and intensity of the Bengals’ defensive front are already obvious during offseason workouts."I see the hunger in everybody."Last week, Joe Burrow praised this Bengals d-line. Today, Boye Mafe said their hungry and presence are already on display.@WLWTpic.twitter.com/xozvJnueUH— Jaron May (@jaron_may) May 26, 2026“I see the hunger in everybody,” Mafe said. “Everyone’s willing to learn, and everyone’s willing to put the work in, and that’s gonna take us so far.For a Bengals team trying to re-establish itself as one of the AFC’s most complete contenders, that is good news. Cincinnati spent the past several months aggressively reshaping its defense, placing a major emphasis on speed, physicality, and pass-rush depth. The defensive line, in particular, became a major area of focus after the Bengals struggled last season to pressure opposing quarterbacks. Now, there appears to be a different energy surrounding the group. Burrow hinted at that recently when he praised the defensive line’s performance during practices, an acknowledgment that stood out considering how often quarterbacks avoid complimenting pass rushers who make their lives difficult in training sessions.Mafe’s comments reinforce that impression. The Bengals are clearly building a defensive identity centered around relentless effort and competition. Veterans have talked throughout the offseason about accountability, leadership, and creating a more aggressive mindset on defense. Early signs suggest those messages are resonating. The Bengals brought Mafe in to become an important piece of the pass rush rotation, and his presence adds another athletic edge defender to a defensive front that suddenly looks much deeper and more versatile than it did a year ago. But his comments also reflect something larger happening within the roster.Cincinnati still has a franchise quarterback in Burrow, and the offense remains loaded with talent. But the season will rise or fall based on the performance of the defense. After coming up short of expectations last season, there is a definite urgency around the team to win now, and that urgency is fueled by the defense. If the hunger that Burrow and Mafe described carries over into the regular season, the Bengals’ defensive front could quickly become one of the team’s biggest strengths in 2026.
