SPORTS.YAHOO.COMCheryl Miller, Sue Bird weigh in on Caitlin Clark-Stephanie White ‘disruptive’ heated incidentCredit: NBC; Emma Watkins on Instagram (@emmawaatkins)It’s been a rough few days for Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. On Friday night, Clark declined to speak to the media after the Fever lost 90-88 to the Golden State Valkyries. Clark scored 16 points but went just 3-of-12 from the field and committed five turnovers. And on Saturday, the Fever lost 100-84 to the Portland Fire, and Clark scored just six points while going 1-of-7 on field goals.Making matters worse, video footage of a heated exchange between Clark and Fever head coach Stephanie White at the team’s bench went viral. Please someone explain this to me. Stephanie white and Caitlin Clark Arguing, so she pulls her out for Raven right there. Poor Justine can’t believe it. pic.twitter.com/rfXl63kg85— CCFC-New season (@sohali2012) May 31, 2026On Sunday, women’s basketball legends Cheryl Miller and Sue Bird discussed the incident at halftime of NBC’s coverage of the Valkyries’ game vs. the Las Vegas Aces.Cheryl Miller on the Caitlin Clark/Stephanie White bench incident:“Right now, it’s frustration. And unfortunately, it’s boiling over, and it’s being seen. It’s one thing to have it behind closed doors, but [it’s another thing] when it spills over, and when the coach has to… pic.twitter.com/73oYTCszvh— Underdog WNBA (@UnderdogWNBA) May 31, 2026“Right now, it’s frustration. And unfortunately, it’s boiling over, and it’s being seen,” Miller said. “It’s one thing to have it behind closed doors, but when it spills over, and when the coach has to basically say, ‘Hey, you know what, Caitlin? Enough is enough. This is too disruptive. In and out. Take a seat.'”“I agree,” Bird said. “I think it’s frustration. I’m not, like, the best lip-reader. But I think Stephanie White did say ‘defense’ a couple times. And Caitlin Clark was in foul trouble this game. And obviously, we know how things are being called. So, I think it’s a lot of frustration. But, it’s, like, not that crazy. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this. It doesn’t have some deeper meaning to it.”“I’ve had moments like that with coaches,” Bird continued. “I think it speaks to relationships. Player-coach relationships. Like, shoutout Brian Agler. You could say anything to that man. And you could keep it moving. And then I had other coaches, where maybe you couldn’t. And you have to learn each other in that way.”“But you knew the line,” Miller responded to Bird. “You knew the line. When it becomes disruptive… Even Kelsey Mitchell kind of chimed in, like, ‘You need to go stand over here and let us regain the calm in our huddle.’ When it becomes that disruptive for the entire team, somebody has to step in.'”Clark and the Fever (4-4) get several days off before their next game on Thursday (vs. the Atlanta Dream at 7:30 p.m. ET on Prime Video), and that might be a needed break for the team right now, even this early in the season. The post Cheryl Miller, Sue Bird weigh in on Caitlin Clark-Stephanie White ‘disruptive’ heated incident appeared first on Awful Announcing.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

WWW.LGBTQNATION.COMUnhinged rightwing podcaster says gay people having families is the same as slaverySeth Gruber, the Christian Nationalist host of The Seth Gruber Show, says “gays” should be banned from “buying children” because it is no different from the institution of slavery in the U.S. It’s unclear whether he’s referring to adoption, surrogacy, or both. In a May 28 post on the social platform X, Gruber wrote, “Gays should be banned from buying children. We fought a war to end the practice of buying and selling people and now the gays are bringing it back in the name of ‘progress.’ Evil then. Evil now.” Related Tom Daley & Dustin Lance Black accused of “baby trafficking” by unhinged transphobe in a follow-up post he wrote, “Those who buy babies would have bought blacks. Both are justified based on the ‘desires’ & alleged ‘rights’ of rich elites. But in every case, innocent people are harmed and treated as property. Today’s gay’s were yesterday’s plantation owners. Make buying humans illegal again!” Family-building through adoption or surrogacy differs from enslavement for a variety of reasons, including the fact that children have legal rights and protections that enslaved people did not have and parents have obligations to provide for and protect their children. Insights for the LGBTQ+ community Subscribe to our briefing for insights into how politics impacts the LGBTQ+ community and more. Subscribe to our Newsletter today Researchers estimate that about 35,000 same‑sex couples have adopted children, and about 4,000 surrogate births occur in the U.S. each year. Though surrogacy remains controversial, it is nonetheless used by many couples worldwide who otherwise face difficulties having children. Gruber isn’t the only anti-LGBTQ+ figure who has opposed surrogacy. Catholic Pope Francis referred to surrogacy as “despicable” and to gestational surrogates as a “uterus for rent” — he also called for a universal ban on the practice. Transphobic Daily Wire broadcasters Michael Knowles and Matt Walsh have referred to the practice as “gravely evil” and a “mad scientist horror,” respectively. But anti-LGBTQ+ influencers like Gruber, Knowles, and Walsh aren’t arguing against surrogacy in good faith since all three have framed their arguments particularly around gay people. In Gruber’s case, he has even gone so far as to connect same-sex marriage to pedophilia. In a July 2025 X post, Gruber wrote, “’Gay marriage’ is fundamentally anti-human. It’s not procreative.” He didn’t explain whether he felt the same way about heterosexual couples who are unable to procreate. “For lesbians, it dehumanizes men by treating them as mere sperm banks,” he continued. “For gay dudes, it dehumanizes women by treating them as walking rent-a-wombs.” “For the pedos, ‘gay marriage’ was a HUGE gift because it redefined parenthood from 2 opposite sex couples who created the child to literally anyone, so now pedos can buy sperm & egg, rent a womb, and go home with a baby that they intend to sexually abuse,” he claimed. Gruber is completely wrong in his assertion. The Supreme Court’s 2015 legalization of same-sex marriage didn’t “redefine” parenthood — it merely said that two consenting adults of the same sex can wed because there is no compelling government interest in preventing them from doing so. Furthermore, before 2015, individuals of any sex could try and conceive children through in sperm and egg donors, in vitro fertilization, or surrogates. Bigots like Gruber tried to (and still do) oppose same-sex marriage by claiming that it would lead to increases in child sexual assault. A major evangelical figure also predicted that marriage equality would cause fathers to marry their daughters. There’s no evidence to suggest that either incest or pedophilia increased as a result of legalized same-sex marriage. In his other posts, Gruber claims that same-sex marriage is “Satanic,” that LGBTQ+-inclusive childrens’ books are “pornographic,” and calls himself a proud Christian Nationalist. Rhetoric like his encourages violence against LGBTQ+ people and their allies, many of whom seek to protect children from genuine harm. SPORTS.YAHOO.COMInside RCB's winning machine: The masterminds behind back-to-back IPL titlesTimesofIndia.com in Ahmedabad: IPL trophies are won on the field, but championship dynasties are built in boardrooms, auction tables and strategy meetings.Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) historic back-to-back title triumphs are the result of a vision that extended far beyond the playing XI. From Andy Flower's tactical acumen and Mo Bobat's long-term planning to Dinesh Karthik's player management and Malolan Rangarajan's talent identification, a powerful backroom team quietly engineered one of the most successful phases in the franchise's history. On Sunday, the Rajat Patidar-led RCB defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.TimesofIndia.com brings you the men behind RCB's winning machinery:Andy Flower (Head Coach)The turnaround for RCB started when they appointed Andy Flower as head coach before IPL 2024, and in three years, he has delivered two IPL titles.Andy Flower is probably the greatest coach in modern cricket. He has mastered all three formats and his résumé is extraordinary. He transformed a struggling England side into a world-beating outfit, overseeing three Ashes victories (2009, 2010-11 and 2013), England's maiden global title at the 2010 T20 World Cup and a historic Test series win in India in 2012, their first in 28 years. Flower later served as a consultant to Australia's 2023 ODI World Cup-winning campaign before guiding Trent Rockets to The Hundred title in 2022 and RCB to their maiden IPL crown in 2025.RCB skipper Rajat Patidar also hailed Flower, calling him the greatest of all time."He is one of the best coaches, I feel, because of the way he handles players, not only the players who are playing. I think, for him, the players who are not playing and the new players who are playing their first IPL season are equally important. He spent a lot of time with every individual. So, you know, I don't have words for him, but he is the best coach I have played under."Mo Bobat (Director of Cricket)Mo Bobat arrived at RCB as Director of Cricket ahead of IPL 2024, bringing with him over a decade of experience at the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). As England Men's Performance Director, he played a key role in building the talent pipeline that contributed to the country's ODI and T20 World Cup triumphs, while also helping revive the Test side under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum. Bobat had previously worked with RCB as a consultant. After RCB's win over GT in Qualifier 1, Bobat spoke about the number of match-winners in the team, which ultimately proved pivotal."We are obviously pleased that we've got a number of people contributing to wins. We had a number of guys who stood up with both bat and ball. And you need that to go far in competitions. We're not too dependent on one or two players with the bat or one or two with the ball. And that's the really pleasing thing," Bobat had said."And if we do that often enough, and if everybody contributes and fulfils their roles, the results should take care of themselves," Bobat explained his philosophy.Dinesh Karthik (Mentor and Batting Coach)After last year's IPL, RCB wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma credited Dinesh Karthik for the transformation in his game."Jo kisi ne mere andar aaj tak nahi dekhi wo us insaan ne mere andar dekha. Sab logon ne mere mein khaamiyan dhoondi, but us aadmi ne mere mein khoobi dekhi (What no one had ever seen inside me, that person saw within me. Everyone else looked for flaws in me, but that man saw my strengths)," Jitesh had told TimesofIndia.com.This year, it was Venkatesh Iyer, who worked closely with Karthik behind the scenes when he was not getting game time. When he got his opportunity, Venkatesh scored an unbeaten 73 while batting at No. 4 in Patidar's absence due to concussion. From then on, he became a regular in the side.In Dinesh Karthik, many Indian players found an elder brother figure, something that was previously missing in the RCB dressing room."When you're a coach, the dynamic is very different. I'm more than happy to see if, while playing, I get the opportunity to influence somebody," Karthik had told TimesofIndia.com during the ILT20.Malolan Rangarajan (Spin Bowling Coach, Player Identification Manager and RCB Women's Head Coach)If Andy Flower and Mo Bobat shaped RCB's vision, Malolan Rangarajan helped build its foundation. A former Tamil Nadu off-spinner, Rangarajan has emerged as one of the most respected talent scouts in Indian cricket. As RCB's head of scouting and fielding coach, he has played a pivotal role in identifying and nurturing players who fit the franchise's long-term plans rather than simply chasing star names.Known for his sharp eye for talent and deep understanding of domestic cricket, Rangarajan has been instrumental in strengthening RCB's squad depth, ensuring the franchise has a steady pipeline of players ready to step up when required. His influence extends beyond recruitment, with his work in the fielding department helping raise the team's athletic standards. While the spotlight often falls on marquee players and high-profile coaches, Rangarajan's contributions behind the scenes have been crucial in helping RCB assemble a balanced, resilient squad capable of winning back-to-back IPL titles.Malolan Rangarajan is also the head coach of the RCB women's team. He has been at the forefront of the hinterland scouting initiative, a method that explores the Indian cricketing landscape at a much deeper level and identifies talents that might otherwise have remained unnoticed.Omkar Salvi (Bowling Coach)After winning the title, captain Rajat Patidar was full of praise for bowling coach Omkar Salvi for transforming RCB's attack."I have known Omkar Salvi sir since I started playing my first Ranji Trophy season," said Patidar. 131437094"Since then, I have been watching him closely. He spent a lot of time one-on-one with every bowler. There was a lot of hard work, I would say, in the way Salvi sir worked with the team. We cannot always see what happens in the meeting room when he is talking to players. He spent a lot of time individually with them, and I think that really helped every bowler."0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMShould Bills be worried about Ed Oliver’s new injury?INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 23: Ed Oliver #91 of the Buffalo Bills celebrates in the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on December 23, 2023 in Inglewood, California. (Photo by Katelyn Mulcahy/Getty Images) | Getty Images I have never before heard an NFL injury — or ailment of any kind in any walk of life — be referred to as an “oops, oops” before that description was used by Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver during OTAs.Per Thigh Doctor on Twitter, “Oliver said a recent “oops, oops” was the reason he wasn’t able to be on the field during Organized Team Activities (OTAs). He was recently seen on a horse on his Instagram page with a long sleeve on his left leg.”Thigh Doctor then ventured a guess as to what producer Oliver may have had done this offseason:Mentioned Ed Oliver's OTA status and possible additional knee scope a few days ago.Glad more information is coming out as @MattParrino recaps injury injury info ⬇️ https://t.co/iQs0VUvoAWpic.twitter.com/kNhon0euMP— Thigh Doctor (@ThighDoctor) May 31, 2026Oliver has not participated in OTAs to date — there is one more session this week — yet is at the team facilities, per Syracuse.com’s Matt Parrino.Another outstanding Bills-injury analyst on Twitter, Kyle Trimble — aka Banged Up Bills — astutely pinpointed the amount of surgeries he’s had since last year A little injury info for Ed Oliver in Matt’s article 👇Oliver is at OTA’s but isn’t practicing. He said that he’s had 3 surgeries since last yr.Had biceps & L knee scope during the season. Sounds like another knee scope he called an oops, oops.Had a L leg sleeve on last wk. https://t.co/mI4V411Vvi— Banged Up Bills (@BangedUpBills) May 31, 2026Yikes. Oliver is still only 28 years old and won’t turn 29 until December. For a defensive tackle, he’s still very much in the prime of his career. I’m sure Bills would like Oliver to get onto the field to start repping the intricacies of Jim Leonhard’s new defense. Initial scheme adoption is taking place now, yet it’s not necessarily time to worry about Oliver’s potential lack of involvement. If he’s sidelined at the start of training camp, that would make for an entirely different story and indisputably raise the level of concern.Last week, I compared Zane Durant to John Franklin-Myers, a low-key vital piece to the Broncos defense Leonhard coached the past two seasons. Oliver, too, is on the Franklin-Myers comparison spectrum too at 6’1” and 287 pounds with elite-level explosiveness and, as an NFL vet, plenty of point-of-attack power. He appeared in just four games — counting the return-to-the-field cameo in the divisional round in Denver — and registered a seismic 17.8% pressure rate (13 pressures on 73 pass-rush snaps). Anything over 10% is awesome for an interior rusher. Collectively, in his last two full seasons — 2023 and 2024 — Oliver generated 121 pressures (counting the playoffs) on 1,009 pass-rush snaps, which equates to a pressure rate of 11.9%. Hopefully by now everyone realizes Leonhard’s scheme — with a three-man base front — is not going to simply ask its defensive linemen to eat blockers and never attack upfield. And you can bet your bottom dollar Oliver will be afforded many opportunities to penetrate and disrupt the opposition’s backfield, clearly what he does best on a football field. The new (potential) knee scope is agitating, especially considering Oliver was cleared mid-season last year from the semi-mysterious ankle injury suffered late in his monster performance in Week 1’s comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens. There doesn’t seem to be much concern from Oliver or anyone on the Bills coaching staff/front office about his availability even for the start of camp in late July. That’s telling.Because even though Oliver doesn’t fit the traditional three-man front archetype, pressure is still king in the NFL, and he is the best, most dynamic pressure-creating down lineman the Bills have on their roster.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMUSA's Christian Pulisic snaps 5-month goal drought vs. Senegal, hopes to silence criticsForward Christian Pulisic and the Americans will start their 2026 World Cup campaign against Paraguay on June 12 in Inglewood, Calif. File Photo by Mike Zarrilli/UPIJune 1 (UPI) -- Christian Pulisic snapped a five-month scoring drought in a United States win over Senegal, leading the forward to address critics after the friendly.Pulisic found the net in the 20th minute of the 3-2 triumph Sunday in Charlotte, N.C. The score was his first for the Americans since 2024."It's just great to score again," Pulisic said on the TNT broadcast. Hopefully people can stop talking about it. I feel great. I'm really proud of the performance the guys put in."Just to be a part of it felt really good."The No. 16 Americans outshot the No. 14 Senegalese 15-7, but placed just five shots on target. They also committed 21 fouls, compared to nine for their foes. Senegal held a 55% to 45% edge in possession."This is a really good team," Pulisic said of Senegal. "We just brought so much energy right from the start, the way we pressed them, the way we created chances. We could have had even more."I'm really happy with the performance."U.S. winger Sergino Dest drew first blood with a seventh minute score. Pulisic assisted that goal before helping to double the American lead in the 20th minute. Senegalese striker Sadio Mane cut the deficit in half when he beat U.S. goalie Matt Turner with a score in the 46th minute.Mane tapped in a follow-up shot for an equalizer in the 52nd minute. U.S. striker Folarin Balogun netted the go-ahead score in the 63rd minute. Timothy Weah fed that strike with a cross through the box. With his score, Pulisic ended a 27-game skid -- for club and country. He last scored Dec. 28 for Italian Serie A soccer franchise AC Milan."Happy for him also because after the long time or few months [without a goal], let's score again, which is important for a player knowing the preparation to the World Cup," U.S. coach Mauricio Pochettino told reporters. The Americans, who are outside the Top 10 in betting odds to win the 2026 World Cup, will face No. 10 Germany in their last pre-tournament friendly Saturday in Chicago. SPORTS.YAHOO.COMChet Holmgren and the $240 million disappearing actChet Holmgren took two shots in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals. And he didn’t attempt a third after Victor Wembanyama rose up and detonated on him for one of the most violent dunks of these playoffs:Christian Petersen via Getty ImagesThe poster was so emphatic it seemed to physically eliminate Holmgren. He just sort of stopped existing. Bobbled passes. Tripped over his own feet. Drifted into the corners and stayed there. Holmgren was so horrible that a debate was sparked on social media regarding his future in Oklahoma City. It’s a worthy conversation. Even if Wemby wasn’t lurking, Holmgren looked incapable of scoring against other San Antonio defenders. It was illuminating how bad he was. It’s also not the first time Holmgren has been a shrinking violet on offense:In 2022, Holmgren averaged 12.8 points on 13% shooting from 3 in five conference tournament and NCAA tournament games for Gonzaga. In 2024, Holmgren shot 22% from 3 in Oklahoma City’s 2024 second-round series loss against Dallas. In 2025, Holmgren was terrible offensively in the NBA Finals against Indiana. He averaged only 12.3 points on 47% from 2-point range and 16% from 3.Chet is now 30% from 3 in 48 career playoff games. Down from 37% for the regular season. His shooting isn’t translating to the playoffs and he has shown no signs of being a shot creator. Now his five-year, $240 million max is about to kick in.So, trade Chet? I don’t think the answer is a definitive yes, to be clear. Chet was voted second for Defensive Player of the Year for a reason. He might’ve got dunked on, but he still made some competitive plays for the Thunder on that end throughout the series. And he’s only 24 years old, so there’s room for growth on offense. But it is completely reasonable to question whether Chet should be part of Oklahoma City’s future. He has struggled offensively in the playoffs. He’s about to get paid big money. Durability is a concern too. He missed his entire rookie season with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot, and missed 50 regular-season games last year with a hip bone fracture. Those types of injuries piling up for a 7-footer is pretty scary. On top of all that, there’s a harsh financial reality facing the Thunder. With Holmgren and Jalen Williams both becoming max contract players next season, the franchise currently projects to have $260 million on the books for 2026-27. That puts them about $40 million above the second apron, which would lead to $500 million in salary and luxury tax penalties on top of all the penalties that come with being a second apron team. Those penalties are debilitating:Can’t send out cash in dealsCan’t use traded player exceptionsCan’t combine contracts in tradesCan’t take back more salary than they send outCan’t sign players on the buyout marketCan’t complete sign-and-tradesCan’t use a portion of the midlevel exceptionCan’t trade your first-rounder seven years into the futureCan’t keep your homegrown core togetherOK, just kidding about that last one. That’s actually not written in the collective bargaining agreement. But look at the other eight and tell me it isn’t the spirit of the thing. Last summer we saw the Celtics, Suns, and Timberwolves all make cost-cutting moves to get under the apron. Boston traded away two starters (Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porziņģis) and let two free agent veterans walk (Al Horford and Luke Kornet). Phoenix waived Bradley Beal. Minnesota let go of Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who went on to win Most Improved Player this year in Atlanta.Roster turnover is coming for Oklahoma City no matter what. The only open question is timing. This summer alone, the Thunder have to make team-option calls on Isaiah Hartenstein ($28.5M), Lu Dort ($18.2M), and Kenrich Williams ($7.2M). Picking up all three would launch them clear past the second apron. A year after that, Cason Wallace hits restricted free agency and Isaiah Joe’s deal can run out. So, the roster that just lost Game 7 is not the roster that gets the next crack at San Antonio. It can’t be.The Thunder can work to get under the tax in less explosive ways: Get rid of Dort, Joe, and Aaron Wiggins, and replace them with cheaper players. (Ajay Mitchell, Jared McCain, and Nikola Topić all have two more years on their rookie contracts, so they could take on even bigger roles.) They could deny Hartenstein's option and re-sign him at a lower number. Or let Hartenstein walk and bet on a healthy Thomas Sorber, the rookie center they drafted last year before a torn ACL erased his season. There are sensible paths here that stop short of blowing up the team. And the core might not need blowing up anyway. The Thunder pushed the Spurs to a Game 7 without JDub and Mitchell — two of their three best ball-handlers — with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leaning on McCain and Alex Caruso (and not Chet) just to create shots. They still came a win short of a second straight Finals. The Thunder also hold the 12th and 17th picks in a loaded draft, and there have been rumblings for weeks that they want to package them and move up — some have reported Oklahoma City is targeting Duke power forward Cam Boozer. But Boozer projects to go in the top three, which means leaping from 12 to the front of the lottery. A more realistic target might be 7-foot-3 Michigan center Aday Mara. Or maybe they keep one pick and flip the other for a future first to keep the assets coming. But Presti rarely settles. The Thunder are sitting on a mountain of future picks and approaching a major financial crossroads. Some consolidation is going to be necessary. League sources widely expect the Clippers to listen to trade-down offers for the fifth pick. So maybe there’s a deal to put together with 12, 17, and a player to get there. And then from the fifth pick, can OKC build an overwhelming offer to get up into the top three? Could that deal include a 24-year-old All-NBA player?Presti is the same person who traded away James Harden months after Oklahoma City made the 2012 NBA Finals when Harden’s big contract extension was due. The collective bargaining agreement at that time introduced a repeater tax designed to heavily penalize teams that spent above the threshold in consecutive years. The Thunder wanted to avoid that. They could have amnestied Kendrick Perkins, but that would have set them on a complicated financial path to fill out rosters annually around Harden, Russell Westbrook, and Kevin Durant. So the Thunder instead dealt Harden to Houston for Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, and two future firsts (Steven Adams and Mitch McGary). The deal quite obviously was a mistake by Oklahoma City. But Harden, at the time, had already flashed the potential to become an elite scorer.Holmgren has shown no offensive upside. His handle has not improved since college. He shows every symptom of a playoff choker. He plays like he’s terrified of The Alien. Presti has traded a homegrown talent on the verge of a max for a lot less. A nightmare Game 7 and the second apron just revived the same debate.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMRoma to submit first bid for Mason GreenwoodRoma to submit first bid for Mason GreenwoodRoma is taking its first steps on the transfer market. Their strategy is clear: satisfy Gian Piero Gasperini’s request for a large number of top-quality strikers to boost the quality of their attack. Their number one target is Mason Greenwood, who is leaving Marseille, which is struggling financially. The French club is aiming high; costs and competition make the deal difficult, but the Giallorossi will try to please their coach.Tony D’Amico will soon officially be Roma’s new sporting director. As Leggo reports, one of his first moves will be to submit an offer to Marseille for Greenwood, thus entering the heart of the negotiations. The Friedkins’ initial offer will be around €40 million plus bonuses. However, the French club appears to be asking for at least €10 million more. The player has already made it clear he’s interested in Roma, especially now that they’re certain to play in the Champions League and considering he’d face problems in England due to the notorious legal disputes. SPORTS.YAHOO.COMDimarco launches free retro video game to celebrate assist recordDimarco launches free retro video game to celebrate assist recordInter and Italy star Federico Dimarco celebrated his Serie A MVP status by launching a retro-style video game where the goal is to provide assists. The wing-back was named Most Valuable Player in the 2025-26 Serie A season thanks to his extraordinary all-time record of 18 assists in a single campaign.Coupled with the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia in a Double, all these elements went into the presentation of a retro video game with cool graphics depicting his greatest moments.Dimarco launches his own video gameView this post on InstagramHowever, Dimarco went a step further and provided the playable game on his own website, where you can jump up levels and avoid the opposition players marking you.Whereas most football games have scoring goals as the objective, the Inter man’s target is to provide one of those record-breaking assists instead. You can play this game for free on his website dimash32.com.MILAN, ITALY – MAY 17: Federico Dimarco of FC Internazionale Milano poses for a photo with the Coppa Campioni d’Italia and Coppa Italia trophies following the Serie A match between FC Internazionale and Hellas Verona FC at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium on May 17, 2026 in Milan, Italy. SPORTS.YAHOO.COMRyan O'Hearn Reflects On Hitting Home Run In First At-Bat Back From InjuryRyan O'Hearn Reflects On Hitting Home Run In First At-Bat Back From Injury originally appeared on SportsNet Pittsburgh. Add SportsNet Pittsburgh as a Preferred Source by clicking here. The Pittsburgh Pirates got a big boost to the lineup on Sunday with Ryan O’Hearn activated off the injured list. O’Hearn had been placed on the IL on May 17 after suffering a right quad muscle strain, but was activated as the corresponding move for Konnor Griffin being placed on the IL.In the bottom of the second inning and on the fifth pitch he saw in his first at-bat from injury, O’Hearn took Zebby Matthews deep for a home run in his first game back.“You want to make an impact when you come back from a rehab assignment or anything," O'Hearn said postgame on Sunday. “So I hadn't seen live pitching, but confident in my abilities. I felt it good in the cage and stuff, so [it was] cool to have it translate in the first at-bat like that.”O’Hearn was one of the Pirates’ biggest offseason additions as Pittsburgh signed him to a two-year, $29 million deal to bolster the lineup, which he has done. This season with the Pirates, O’Hearn is hitting .294 with eight home runs and 30 RBIs as he’s been a key part of Pittsburgh’s offense.O’Hearn’s home run also helped Pittsburgh get out to an early lead en route to a 9-3 win to sweep the Minnesota Twins at home.More MLB: Pirates Dealt Major Blow As Emerging Star Lands On Injured List0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

WWW.LGBTQNATION.COMRemember when a GOP lawmaker said trans people “harm” kids & was busted for child porn?South Carolina state Rep. RJ May (R) — an anti-LGBTQ+ politician who has accused drag queens and transgender people of harming kids — was sentenced to 17.5 years in federal prison on Wednesday after pleading guilty to five counts of distributing child sex abuse material (CSAM). May — who was honored by the anti-LGBTQ+ “parents’ rights” group Moms for Liberty in 2023 as its Legislator of the Year — first denied the charges after investigators found evidence that he had shared hundreds of images of kids, including pictures of adults raping seven-year-olds. Judge Cameron McGowan Currie, who sentenced May, said the CSAM he shared was “more severe” than any other she had ever seen before, WIS-TV reported. Related Trump hurls expletive & flips off heckler who calls him “pedophile protector” After being arrested and indicted in June, May was suspended from his state congressional office and then resigned in disgrace. He originally planned to represent himself in court despite not having a law degree and asked the judge to throw out the warrant used to search his home, laptop, and mobile devices (which contained no CSAM, investigators said), as well as evidence that he had flown to Colombia to film himself having sex with three underage girls. Then, his lawyer claimed that May had been framed by his political enemies. However, May eventually pleaded guilty in an agreement to drop five of the other charges against him. Though the federal government sought a 20-year prison sentence, May requested a shorter sentence followed by house arrest at his family’s Virginia farm. Never Miss a Beat Subscribe to our newsletter to stay ahead of the latest LGBTQ+ political news and insights. Subscribe to our Newsletter today Investigators found that May sent nearly 500 explicit videos over five days in late March and early April of 2024, including 265 different files of toddlers and young children involved in sex acts on the Kik social media network under the screen name “joebidennnn69.” He reportedly shared CSAM with other internet users in 18 states and six countries. A forensic analysis of his phone showed he deleted the messaging apps Kik, Telegram, Mega, and Loki Messenger, within seconds of each other in April 2024. He used the alias “Eric Rentling” on Mega and in a related Facebook account whose profile image was a picture of the back of his head. Prosecutors said that May showed sexual interest in incest between young children and their parents, as well as an interest in children the same age as his own kids. Because some of the images featured children the same age as his own child — a seven-year-old — the 39-year-old was held without bail until his trial. May was a founding member of the hardline conservative South Carolina Freedom Caucus, which pushed his state’s Republican party further to the right. During his time in the state legislature, May made anti-LGBTQ+ statements. In a January 2024 House speech on transgender issues and kids, he said, “We as legislators have an obligation to ensure that our children have no harm done to them.” In a November 24, 2022, post on social media, he said that “exposing children to drag shows and pushing sex changes on toddlers” were forms of “child exploitation.” He also compared Medicaid funding for gender-affirming care to the state paying for “lifestyles” like drug addiction, adding, “We as legislators have an obligation to ensure that our children have no harm done to them.” Moms for Liberty (M4L) — the anti-LGBTQ+ extremist group regularly seeks to ban LGBTQ+-inclusive children’s books as a form of “pornography” and regularly accuses LGBTQ+ people and their allies of “grooming” children for sexual abuse — honored May as their 2023 Legislator of the Year and had him speak at their 2022 event on “Reclaiming Education in America.” Subscribe to the LGBTQ Nation newsletter and be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima -

Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here. The Patriots could be mere hours away from acquiring A.J. Brown. All indications are that New England will trade for the star receiver after 4 p.m. ET on Monday, when the Philadelphia Eagles would be able to spread out Brown's dead-cap charges. However, numerous reports indicate top Patriots decision-makers remain split on whether Brown is worth giving up a future first-round pick.NFL insider Josina Anderson provided an update in an X post on Monday morning. Here's the full text:"OVERNIGHT UPDATE: As of late yesterday, I was told reluctance remains among some* segments of the #Patriots higher-ranks for giving up any form of a first-round pick for #Eagles WR AJ Brown, but* that the plan remains to huddle-up this morning on 11th-hour trade-term stances—including whether they’re collectively* okay with giving up a 2028 first-rounder as comfortable middle ground, per league sources."While it was acknowledged to me that a 2028 1st-rounder has come up in discussions, it was not yet affirmed that this compensation was 100% greenlit, at the time of discussions with sources yesterday."While there’s uniform agreement that Brown is a first-round talent & a stud difference-maker, the preference to achieve a 2nd-round valuation for Brown by some (due to mitigating factors in Brown's profile), along with potentially* including a pick swap, was restated over the weekend."That said, we all know head coach Mike Vrabel really wants to do what it takes to get his former player & that he’s the heavy finger on the trigger."So the tone of inevitability on a Brown trade still remains from New England’s perspective, for now it’s just about what's the ultimate agreement on the complete terms to get it over the finish line, whilst peeking for any left field updates."OVERNIGHT UPDATE: As of late yesterday, I was told reluctance remains among some* segments of the #Patriots higher-ranks for giving up any form of a first-round pick for #Eagles WR AJ Brown, but* that the plan remains to huddle-up this morning on 11th-hour trade-term… https://t.co/K2tgaWDpkOpic.twitter.com/XFPl7qIG8p— JosinaAnderson (@JosinaAnderson) June 1, 2026There are arguments for and against surrendering a first-round pick, even if it's for the 2028 NFL Draft. On the one hand, acquiring Brown could make the Patriots legitimate Super Bowl contenders, and you can't put a price on that -- within reason. On the other hand, Brown undoubtedly is a declining player with a lengthy injury history, even though he remains a No. 1 receiver.Thankfully, we won't have to wait much longer to learn how this story ends.More NFL: Former NFL GM Shares Positive Outlook For Jared Wilson Amid Position Change0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMThe HARDEST WWE Attitude Era Quiz EVER! - Test Your Knowledge!WWEEven now, roughly 25 years since it ended, wrestling fans regularly yearn for the glory days of WWE's Attitude Era.Those glory days saw a whole new wave of stars ushered in, led by the beer-chugging, bird-flipping, boss-Stunning, expletive-spouting 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, as the WWE product was pushed to levels of violence, vulgarity, and sex that the company hadn't seen before or since. The injury to Olszewski only strengthens the possibility that happens. The 33-year-old is a shell of the elite receiver he once was, but he would provide a decent depth option, which is especially important with the uncertainty around the Week 1 status of Malik Nabers.Smith-Schuster spent the last two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and, like Beckham, his best days are behind him.Juju did see an uptick in production to 345 yards last season after tallying 231 the year prior, but he also played in three more contests.A former second-round pick of the Chicago Bears, Miller hasn't played an NFL snap since 2018, when he appeared in two games for the Baltimore Ravens. Miller once showed promise earlier in his career, but that was a long, long time ago.Berrios was with the Houston Texans last season, appearing in four games. SPORTS.YAHOO.COM‘Won’t last much longer’: Skip Bayless thinks Caitlin Clark’s coach will be firedCredit: The Indianapolis Star, Edit: Qwame Skinner; Comeback MediaDuring Saturday night’s blowout loss to the Portland Fire, Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark and head coach Stephanie White could be seen in a heated exchange on the sideline that led to White briefly benching Clark. Following that incident, longtime sports personality Skip Bayless thinks White will eventually be fired. The Fever entered Saturday’s game as 12-point favorites over the Fire in what many expected to be a bounce-back performance for the team after last week’s loss to the Golden State Valkyries. Instead, it was a frustrating game for Clark, who had foul issues throughout the contest, and those frustrations seemed to boil over on the sideline between Clark and her coach.Clark and White’s Heated ExchangeDuring the second quarter of the game, Clark and White were caught in a heated exchange on the sideline during a timeout, with a social media video showing the entire encounter. In the video, which has since gone viral on social media, White had some animated and passionate words directly for Clark, pointing her finger right at Clark multiple times and slapping her knee in apparent frustration while talking to the Fever star.Thought Steph left her fire in Connecticut! pic.twitter.com/meFefzUAAf— Mostly WNBA Tweets (@MostlyWNBA) May 31, 2026 At first, Clark did not have a response for White as she just looked away and drank water on the sideline. Eventually, though, Clark did have an animated response of her own, holding her hands up while talking back to White. It’s not clear what was said during the heated exchange, but following the interaction, White immediately took Clark out of the game, putting rookie Raven Johnson in the lineup in her place.Skip Bayless Believes White Will be FiredWhile it’s not clear what led to the fiery interaction between Clark and her head coach, it’s clear that there is some tension. Bayless believes that this will ultimately lead to White being fired. In fact, he briefly believed that she already had.In a post on social media this weekend, Bayless erroneously claimed that White had been fired, as he was likely fooled by a parody post on X.“No surprise: Stephanie White reportedly out after repeated in-game clashes with Caitlin Clark. Not saying White was wrong – but YOU CAN’T SHOW UP THE FACE OF THE LEAGUE ON CAMERA. Caitlin obviously wants a favorite of hers from Iowa, Jan Jensen. But no way Jensen can coach both,” Bayless wrote in a post on X.Bayless later admitted that he had been duped, but he maintained his belief that White eventually would be fired, predicting that she “won’t last much longer.”“Now they’re saying reports are erroneous about Stephanie White. But the point is, she won’t last much longer clashing during games with CAITLIN CLARK … even if her issues with Caitlin are mostly valid,” Bayless wrote in a post on X.We’ll have to see whether or not Bayless’s prediction holds true. The post ‘Won’t last much longer’: Skip Bayless thinks Caitlin Clark’s coach will be fired appeared first on The Comeback: Today’s Top Sports Stories & Reactions.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMPatriots' Kayshon Boutte may get a new team if A.J. Brown trade goes throughPatriots' Kayshon Boutte may get a new team if A.J. Brown trade goes through originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.Kayshon Boutte, through no fault of his own, may be about to lose his role with the New England Patriots. If an A.J. Brown trade goes through to bring the star wide receiver aboard from the Philadelphia Eagles, Boutte will have to take a backseat. The Pats already signed Romeo Doubs this offseason. Adding Brown would mean going from a top-two WR list of Stefon Diggs and Boutte and making it Brown and Doubs instead.Yes, Boutte would be a high-quality WR3, and so his time in New England wouldn't be doomed. But there's also a case to be made that a Brown trade could also set up an ensuing Boutte trade. The problem is that Boutte is in the last year of his rookie contract. Yes, he's cheap this season, but then he'll be an unrestricted free agent. And if the Pats have a lot of money tied up in Brown and Doubs, they might not be able to afford Boutte, too.And if Boutte is going to leave after the season, the Patriots would be wise to consider dealing him for an asset in return before he can depart for nothing.MORE: Jason Kelce says the NFL is ruining its most valuable assetReports earlier in the offseason did point to Boutte as a trade candidate, but it's been pretty quiet on that front since the NFL Draft. New England didn't draft any WRs, so maybe that helps Boutte (although they also have the ascending Kyle Williams and Efton Chism, who were both rookies last year).Certainly, Drake Maye wouldn't complain about keeping Boutte. Every pass Boutte caught in the 2025 regular season went for either a first down or touchdown. But sometimes, a team has to strike the right balance across the roster. If Brown arrives, Boutte could be the odd man out, and there surely would be other teams out there willing to take him off New England's hands.More NFL news:The Aaron Rodgers problem no one is talking about for the SteelersCommanders, Brandon Aiyuk are waiting for the same thingStefon Diggs' best free agent landing spot could be in NFCCould the Bosa brothers join forces?Saints still waiting for Cameron Jordan news0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

WWW.LGBTQNATION.COMRepublicans are going to go all in on anti-trans attacks in the midterm campaignRepublicans are facing the worst midterm prospects since, well, the last time Donald Trump was president. However, the political landscape for the GOP is far, far worse. Thanks to Trump’s failed tariffs and his bumbling war with Iran, the economy is in a precarious position. Gasoline prices are a daily reminder to voters of what Trump has wrought. Adding to the party’s woes is the endless grifting in the White House. Trump is brazen in directing money toward his own interests. Meanwhile, the concerns of average Americans about affordability have taken a back seat to Trump’s obsession with erecting monuments to himself. Trump has even gone so far as to say out loud that he doesn’t really care about the financial impact of his policies on Americans. Related Republicans push back against Trump. Don’t worry. It’s only temporary. Sprinkle in the stonewalling of the Epstein files, the brutality of the immigration crackdown, and the sheer sleepiness of the elderly president, and it’s no wonder that Republicans are panicking about the midterms. It’s a prime reason why a record number of Congressional Republicans are choosing not to run for re-election. So, if you can’t run on the economy, you’re stuck with an unpopular war, and the president’s poll numbers are a positive drag on your campaign, what’s left? Dive deeper every day Join our newsletter for thought-provoking commentary that goes beyond the surface of LGBTQ+ issues Subscribe to our Newsletter today Culture war issues, of course. Specifically, attacks on the LGBTQ+ community, particularly trans people. Republicans believe that they scored a huge victory in the presidential election with their anti-trans ads. They certainly spent a lot of money – $215 million – and the mainstream press gladly attributed Kamala Harris’ loss (at least in part) to them. That narrative was amplified by Democrats themselves, who found it easier to throw the trans community under the bus than take a hard look at the party’s inadequacies. They responded by holding a finger in the wind, instead of stating their principles, which is why the party is so unpopular. We’re already seeing the anti-trans strategy unfolding, starting at the top. In an interview with his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, on Fox News last Saturday, Trump reeled off all the reasons why Democrats are awful. The first two reasons he cited were trans athletes putting women “in danger” and the “transgender mutilization [sic] of your children.” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R), who has made attacking trans people, especially trans youth, his calling card, was already on the attack before Trump spoke. After winning the Republican nomination for Senate last week, he immediately went after Democratic candidate state Rep. James Talarico, calling him “six-gender Jimmy” and “low-T Talarico.” He was abetted in his attacks by Stephen Miller, the architect of Trump’s racist immigration policy, who went so far as to say that Talarico was transgender. “He’s clearly transitioning into a female,” Miller said. “When Talarico goes in for a blood test, when he gets a physical, blood doesn’t come out. Soy milk comes out.” Paxton is desperate to distract voters from the mountain of scandals on his resume. He’s been indicted for security fraud, impeached by his own party, and denounced by his wife as an adulterer. Unfortunately, in today’s GOP, those are more features than bugs. Texas isn’t the only place where the anti-trans attacks are starting. In Wisconsin, which is increasingly leaning Democratic, Republicans are going all in on the anti-trans rhetoric. Rep. Tom Tiffany, the party’s nominee for governor, told delegates at the party convention last month, “Are you ready for a governor that’s going to protect girls’ sports?” In a press release, the party apparatus in the state accused Democrats of “emphasizing their support of sex-change surgeries for minors.” The repeated the lie three times in a single release. Republicans clearly believe that they have a winning issue. They are assisted by Democrats who act as if they agree, immediately assuming a defensive crouch. However, deeper analyses have shown that anti-trans attacks don’t move voters all that much. Virginia gubernatorial candidate Winsome Earle-Sears relied heavily on anti-trans ads in her losing campaign last year. In a year where consumers are being squeezed by rising prices and the nation is stuck in an unpopular war, does anyone really believe that trans student athletes are the top issue on voters’ minds? The attacks do have a few knock-off effects. They send a signal to the hard-core MAGA base, who may otherwise be inclined to sit the election out. The attacks also put Democrats on the defensive, or at least that’s how many Democrats choose to respond. Ads in particular are catnip for reporters who adore the conventional wisdom about their impact. Worst of all, the attacks continue to demonize and diminish the trans community. The hateful rhetoric is the background for hate crimes against trans people. Of course, that’s just fine by Republicans if it will win them elections. Unfortunately for them, that’s a long shot this time out. In November, they are going to find out that the real issue for voters all along was how Trump is running the country. THEONION.COMTearful Trump Claims He Was Sex-Trafficked By EpsteinWASHINGTON—Growing visibly emotional as he recounted the trauma surfaced by the Justice Department’s release of files on the serial predator, a tearful President Donald Trump told reporters Wednesday he had been sex-trafficked by disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Trump, who described himself as a “victim of really unbelievable stuff, some of the worst” at a press conference outside the U.S. Capitol, broke down several times as he claimed that Epstein had repeatedly lied to him and pressured him into sexual activity with others from their first meeting in 1987 until the convicted sex offender’s death in prison in 2019. “Today I stand before you as a survivor of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s horrendous abuses,” said the commander-in-chief, who paused to collect himself as he stressed that he was only a young, innocent 41-year-old when Epstein began grooming him in Palm Beach, FL. “He said he would get me a massage, and I didn’t know what that meant. Before I knew it, he was luring me to a private island with all these promises of real estate deals and then making me have sex with children for his sick pleasure. It was a nightmare I’m just now waking up from.” “I am the first to come forward of the hundreds of businessmen sexually trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein, but I guarantee you I won’t be the last,” Trump added. Trump says he was groomed by Epstein for sex with underage girls. Due to the emotional nature of his remarks, Trump was accompanied to the Capitol by longtime supporters such as Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA), Attorney General Pam Bondi, and first lady Melania Trump, who provided the distraught president with tissues as he insisted he did not want attention or compensation but simply wished for the decades of birthday notes, flight logs, photographs, emails, and other evidence cataloging his extensive relationship with Epstein to disappear and never be spoken of again by anyone. “All of these news stories about parties he made me attend, all of these files about other defenseless guys like me he kidnapped and took aboard the Lolita Express—it’s just too painful to think about,” said Trump, who added that having his identity publicly exposed by the U.S. government had forced him to relive the most harrowing period of his life. “There is something so inhumane about how I’ve been treated by the press. They don’t understand the terrible things Jeffrey Epstein put me through. I still wake up in a cold sweat thinking about all the billionaires he trafficked who weren’t lucky enough to get away.” “Please, I’m just begging anyone in Congress who has a heart to make all of this go away—if not for me, then for the many others out there,” he continued, openly weeping as his wife draped him in her jacket and ushered him from the podium. Following the press conference, Trump reportedly signed onto an open letter calling on Congress to suppress any information related to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, joining dozens of other self-described survivors, including Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Tom Pritzker, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. SPORTS.YAHOO.COMRays hope Chandler Simpson can get going as the calendar shifts to JuneRays hope Chandler Simpson can get going as the calendar shifts to June originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.Outfielder Chandler Simpson has been one of the Tampa Bay Rays best hitters this season. In 55 games, Simpson is batting .282 with four doubles, four triples (leads the team) and has stolen 14 bases.Despite leading the team in stolen bases, Simpson also leads the team and the major leagues in caught stealing (eight). After stealing 44 bases (caught a major league-leading 12 times) and posting a 78.6% stolen base percentage, the 25-year-old has become less aggressive on the basepath, with a 63.6% stolen base percentage. Not known for his powers -- Simpson still has no home runs in 634 at-bats in the big leagues and one in his professional career -- the Rays need their former second-round pick to get on-base more (.316 on-base percentage this season) and increase his stolen base rate. The Tampa Bay Rays hope Chandler Simpson can start getting himself going as the calendar shifts to June Over a third of the way through the Major League Baseball season, June is a time when hitters and teams show you whether they can turn things around or not. According to MLB.com's Adam Berry, Simpson is someone the Rays need to start heating up in June after having a bad May -- Simpson batted .245 with a .592 OPS and stole three bases, but was caught five times. More MLB News:Phillies hope Trea Turner can get going as the calendar shifts to June"Perhaps fittingly, the fastest man in baseball sprinted out of the gates this season, batting .314 with a .349 on-base percentage and 11 stolen bases in his first 30 games of the season," wrote Berry. "His defense in left field is still noticeably improved, but he’s run into a little tougher luck lately. In his next 24 games, Simpson posted a .258/.291/.330 slash line with three stolen bases, while getting caught stealing five times. If Simpson gets back on track, he’s a potent weapon in front of the Rays’ top hitters: Junior Caminero, Jonathan Aranda and Yandy Díaz."The Rays as a team have been average when scoring runs this season (13th in MLB, 262), but first baseman Jonathan Aranda has been the American League's second-best RBI man (43). Yandy Diaz is second on the team (38) and Junior Caminero is third (28), so the Rays have run producers. However, Simpson getting on more ahead of these guys could take the Rays to another level-- the Rays hold the third-best record in Major League Baseball (36-20). SPORTS.YAHOO.COMCowboys warned about what could come next with George PickensCowboys warned about what could come next with George Pickens originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.Last offseason, the Dallas Cowboys traded for George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers to help Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.Pickens delivered on his promise and then some, putting together his best season in the NFL.They knew at the time of the trade that a decision would loom this offseason, because Pickens had been entering the final year of his contract. The Cowboys have partially made the decision now, signing Pickens to a franchise tag. But they haven't given him a long-term deal.Dallas would be wise to be careful about what comes next. Pickens is notoriously a bit of a diva (as many WRs are), and if negotiations don't feel right, he might decide to express his unhappiness. This is what ESPN's Jeremy Fowler wrote on Monday:"Pickens signed his $27.3 million franchise tag, which the Cowboys are happy about. But he wants a long-term deal that Dallas won't give right now. Whether Pickens develops a reason to sit out during the offseason or regular season could be something to watch."MORE: Jason Kelce says the NFL is ruining its most valuable assetThat last line is notable. It seems that no one really knows what Pickens' intentions might be as far as a holdout, but that sentence makes it seem like it still could be on the table. The Cowboys seem to have preseason drama in most recent seasons, and they sure could do without it this year as they try to put together a better all-around campaign than they did last time around. They also simply need Pickens on the field. He unlocks so much for their offense by avoiding all the attention just on Lamb. Maybe Jerry Jones will keep standing firm and not handing out a long-term deal to his No. 2 WR, but that could create some discontent at some point.More NFL news:The Aaron Rodgers problem no one is talking about for the SteelersCommanders, Brandon Aiyuk are waiting for the same thingStefon Diggs' best free agent landing spot could be in NFCCould the Bosa brothers join forces?Saints still waiting for Cameron Jordan news0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

The match came right down to the wire, with the 17-year-old Kouame taking a tense final set. Vallejo insinuated after the match that female umpire Ana Carvalho's calls were influenced by the crowd, which was heavily in support of the French teenager. After Vallejo made the remarks, French Open director Amelie Mauresmo announced a fine of roughly half the 22-year-old's winnings from the tournament. "This is clearly unacceptable," Mauresmo said. "Once again, such remarks have no place here."Here's a look at Vallejo's exact words that ruffled some feathers.MORE:Novak Djokovic gets testy with cameraman during upset lossWhat did Adolfo Daniel Vallejo say about female tennis umpire?Vallejo told tennis site Clay that "this sort of match needs to be umpired by a man" after he lost in five sets to the 17-year-old Kouame. "It has to be refereed by a man, because it's a very demanding crowd and you need a lot of strength to go against the crowd," Vallejo said. "The crowd was very out of line, but I understand they're supporting their compatriot."Vallejo called the crowd "intense" and added, "the truth is it's also difficult for a referee to manage this situation," but his message that only a man would be able to make objective calls in a pro-Kouame environment was blunt and drew immediate criticism.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMAlim McNeill: I wasn't all the way back from torn ACL last year, I am nowLions defensive tackle Alim McNeill didn't make his first appearance of the 2025 season until October and making a full return from his 2024 torn ACL took longer than that. McNeill suffered the injury late in the 2024 season and returned to the lineup in Week 7 last year. McNeill had 14 tackles and a sack in 10 starts, which was less impactful than his pre-injury contributions to the defense. McNeill said last Friday that he never felt 100 percent after coming back to action last year, but is now feeling back to being the player he was prior to hurting his knee. "It's just how the body works. It takes time for stuff to come back a little bit," McNeill said, via the team's website. "Some stuff was just not there no matter how hard I tried to do certain stuff, it just wasn't there yet. It's here now."McNeill had 57 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 17 quarterback hits and 8.5 sacks in the 27 games before his injury. A return to that level of play would be just what the Lions need up front on defense as they try to plot their way back to the playoffs in 2026.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMTT rider was the 'best dad in the world'An Isle of Man TT competitor killed in crash during qualifying for the event was the "best dad in the world" and "always had a big smile on his face", his wife has said.Daniel Ingham, from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, was killed in the crash at Doran's Bend on the western section of the 37.7-mile (60km) Mountain Course on Wednesday evening.Helayna Ingham said the 33-year-old was the "most lovely person" who would make sure he was at "any event that the kids were involved in".She said she and their children – Joey, who is eight, and four-year-old Phoebe – were "lost without him"."Dan was the best dad in the world with our children, and he would make sure he came to all the assemblies and any event that the kids were involved in," she said.Although making his debut in the TT races when the crash happened, he was an experienced competitor on the Mountain Course, having competed in the Manx Grand Prix (MGP) since 2016.After achieving several podium finishes, he secured victory in Senior MGP race in 2024.His wife said road racing was something he loved and was keen to share with others: "He adored his racing and was happy to help anyone and everyone.""He helped the Manx Grand Prix with newcomers and also just anyone who needed it."But those visits were not just for the racing, as Helaya explained: "We always came over early to have a holiday with the children and enjoy how beautiful it is."He loved the Isle of Man," she said. SPORTS.YAHOO.COMREPORT: Spurs “expected to make formal move” for Hayden HackneyHayden Hackney of Middlesbrough appears emotional at the idea of potentially joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer, probably. | NurPhoto via Getty Images The reality of summer transfer rumors is that for every solid rumor from a David Ornstein you get, there are multiple others out there that are substantially more ephemeral. Like this one, from the Northern Echo’s Scott Wilson, that finally gives a direct link between Tottenham Hotspur and Middlesbrough midfielder and “passy boi” Hayden Hackney.Unfortunately, the article itself is almost entirely about Manchester United’s pursuit of Hackney, but it did give us this little tidbit several paragraphs in:Crystal Palace and Tottenham are expected to make formal moves for Hackney, with the former having lined up the England Under-21 international as a potential replacement for Adam Wharton, whose future at Selhurst Park is uncertain.Everton have also been linked with Hackney, but Manchester United will be confident of beating off competition from any of their Premier League rivals if, as looks increasingly likely, they make a move of their own.Yeah, there’s not much THERE there, if you know what I mean, but it does suggest that Spurs at least have the 23-year-old Hackney on a summer transfer list somewhere, and that’s promising. Hackney was one of the high volume passing midfielders that Spurs could’ve purchased last season for £15m and that likely would’ve been quite useful, but alas that ship has sailed and if Tottenham are serious about Hackney they’ll almost certainly have to pay a lot more money for him, assuming Middlesbrough sell him at all. Honestly, I’d be much much more interested in buying Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, for whom Wilson suggests Hackney would be a replacement. Regional papers like the Northern Echo usually have the goods for players from smaller clubs and I’m much more inclined to believe reporting from reporters on the ground like Wilson, but even this feels a little nebulous. But hey — that’s Bat Country for you. It’s at least comforting that Spurs are apparently looking at improving their midfield passing under Roberto De Zerbi.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COM5 bold predictions for 2026 NBA FinalsThe NBA Finals are officially set. The New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs are set to meet with game one on Wednesday night. The Knicks easily cruised to the Eastern Conference crown after sweeping the Cavaliers. In the Western Conference, the Spurs were victorious over the Thunder in game seven. The two teams met three times during the regular season, with the Knicks winning two games. Here are bold predictions heading into the NBA Finals.MORE: NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo reveals preferred trade destinationNew York Finds Success on Offensive GlassMay 25, 2026; Cleveland, Ohio, USA; New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns (32) rebounds in the first quarter against the Cleveland Cavaliers during game four of the eastern conference finals for the 2026 NBA playoffs at Rocket Arena. Mandatory Credit: David Richard-Imagn ImagesThe Knicks have ranked near the bottom of all playoff teams in offensive rebounding, but will see increased production in the NBA Finals. San Antonio has allowed nearly 12 offensive rebounds per game, while New York is averaging 9.2 offensive rebounds per game. New York will have plenty of second-chance opportunities, and the team must take advantage of the high number of offensive rebounds San Antonio allows.Victor Wembanyama Sees Increased MinutesVictor Wembanyama has shown his talent throughout the playoffs. He enters the NBA Finals averaging 23.2 PPG, 10.8 RPG, and 3.5 BPG. In 17 playoff games, the Spurs superstar is averaging 32.5 minutes per game. His usage will drastically increase against the Knicks. If San Antonio is to win the series, Victor Wembanyama needs to average 36-38 minutes per game. New York is allowing the fewest rebounds per game, and San Antonio must have its best rebounder on the court as much as possible. The Knicks Force TurnoversMay 8, 2026; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA; New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns (32) reacts to a defensive stop against the Philadelphia 76ers during the fourth quarter of game three of the second round of the 2026 NBA Playoffs at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Mandatory Credit: Bill Streicher-Imagn ImagesNew York’s defense ranks near the top in steals during the playoffs. On the opposite end, San Antonio’s offense ranks in the top half in turnovers per game. The Knicks must take advantage of a Spurs offense that is no stranger to turning the ball over and turning forced turnovers into points. This becomes crucial in the late stages of games as New York wants nothing more than to enter the fourth quarter with leads.San Antonio’s Perimeter Defense Will Be TestedThe Spurs perimeter defense stifled the Thunder during the final minutes of game seven. San Antonio must be ready to defend the three-point line throughout the NBA Finals as New York leads all playoff teams in three-point percentage, overall field goal percentage, and points per game. The last thing the Spurs want to do is turn the upcoming series into a three-point contest.New York Wins in SixNew York had the edge during the regular season, and while the team carries success into the Finals, regular-season production goes out the window in the playoffs. Wednesday’s game one takes place in San Antonio. Even with home court on their side, the Spurs fall to the Knicks in a close game. New York gains momentum after winning game one, and this sets the tone for the series. Jalen Brunson carries the team throughout the series, winning Finals MVP and bringing the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy to New York.— Enjoy free coverage of the top news & trending stories on The Big Lead —0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima

SPORTS.YAHOO.COMCowboys linked to trade for $3 million ex-Steelers star RB, two-time Pro BowlerCowboys linked to trade for $3 million ex-Steelers star RB, two-time Pro Bowler originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.Javonte Williams is undoubtedly the Dallas Cowboys' No. 1 running back for the 2026-27 season after his 1,201-yard, 11-touchdown 2025-26 campaign. However, the franchise’s backup options don’t provide a clear reason for optimism, which should compel them to scour the RB trade market for an asset that could be an instant impact contributor alongside Williams. On Wednesday, The Dallas Morning News’ Joseph Hoyt suggested that the Cowboys should trade for a former Pittsburgh Steelers Pro Bowl RB to create a dynamic one-two punch in the backfield.“(James) Conner ran for over 1,000 yards in both seasons he overlapped with Cowboys offensive coordinator Klayton Adams, who was Arizona's (Cardinals) offensive line coach from 2023-24,” Hoyt wrote. “A reunion would make sense, but once again — and say it with me — at the right price. Conner is 31 years old and coming off a season where he played for three games before a foot injury sidelined him for the rest of the year.”“He's also entering the final year of his contract for a team that added two talented running backs this offseason in Tyler Allgeier and first-round pick Jeremiyah Love. The Cardinals also have a new head coach this season.”While Connor’s 2025-26 season was uneventful, it’s worth mentioning that the Pittsburgh product recently recorded back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing campaigns and has been highly effective as a dump-down receiving option in Arizona (he finished with 414 receiving yards and one touchdown in 2024-25). With the Cardinals’ recent additions potentially limiting Connor’s reps moving forward, the Cowboys would be wise to reach out to Arizona to inquire about a possible offseason trade.More NFL: Eagles linked to reunion trade for former $40 million Pro Bowl defender, Super Bowl championBears named landing spot for $123 million 115-sack Steelers star LBEagles named top landing spot for former Cowboys $21 million starter0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 42 Views 0 Anteprima
