Bookstore stops selling Harry Potter as JK Rowling becomes increasingly cruel toward trans people
A San Francisco bookstore is making waves for putting its money where its mouth is by halting its sales of all Harry Potter books as billionaire author JK Rowling increasingly spends her fortune on decimating trans rights. In a blog post titled Wizards, but not That Wizard, staff of The Booksmith explained the store would no longer carry Rowlings work since she announced in May her public commitment to using her private wealth from theHarry Potterseries to develop the JK Rowling Womens Fund, an organization dedicated to removing transgender rights in the workplace, in public life, and in protected female spaces.'
