The Supreme Courts 2015 legalization of same-sex marriage didnt redefine parenthood it merely said that two consenting adults of the same sex can wed because there is no compelling government interest in preventing them from doing so. Furthermore, before 2015, individuals of any sex could try and conceive children through in sperm and egg donors, in vitro fertilization, or surrogates.Also, bigots like Gruber tried to (and still do) oppose same-sex marriage by claiming that it would lead to increases in child sexual assault. A major evangelical figure also predicted that marriage equality would cause fathers to marry their daughters. Theres no evidence to suggest that either incest or pedophilia increased as a result of legalized same-sex marriage.Slippery slope arguments like Grubers and Dobsons only work in anti-gay echo chambers populated by people who dont understand why people fought for same-sex marriage. There exists a large group of people who want to marry people of the same sex for pretty much the same reasons that people want to marry someone of the opposite sex to have children, to support their spouses, to have some stability and support for their conjugal relationships. There is no similar population of people who want the same thing in order to have sex with kids, whether their own or someone elses.In his other posts, Gruber claims that same-sex marriage is Satanic, that LGBTQ+-inclusive childrens books are pornographic, and calls himself a proud Christian Nationalist.
