Conservative Christians rage at reality show for letting gay people on
Conservatives are outraged that a gay couple was included in a new reality show, with anti-LGBTQ+ pastor Franklin Graham saying that their participation in the show is disappointing and sin and other Christian commentators saying that the sodomite couple appearing on TV will lead to pederasty. The show in question is Back to the Frontier on the Magnolia Network. The reality series, which debuted last month, shows three families giving up modern technology to live as 1880s homesteaders. While we are to love people, we should love them enough to tell them the truth of Gods Word. His Word is absolute truth. God loves us, and His design for marriage is between one man and one woman. Promoting something that God defines as sin is in itself sin. Elizabeth Prata on the Christian website Crossmap went further and accused the shows executive producers Chip and Joanna Gaines of the broadcast/promotion of sodomite couples, the idea that you can rent a womb and take the children away from the mother, the notion that raising these boys in a homosexual home is OK, a home that according to many news stories frequently leads to pederastyits all an abominable sin. Prata added that the show is worldly brainwashing that Christians should avoid and that Jesus hates gay people. The anti-LGBTQ+ hate group American Family Association said that the show promotes an unbiblical view of human sexuality, marriage, and family a view no Christian should embrace.Part of the issue raised by conservative Christians is that they appear to have believed that the Gaineses, who also co-created the Magnolia Network, were conservative Christians who agreed with their anti-LGBTQ+ views, adding a sense of betrayal to the criticisms. The Gaineses are best known for their work on the reality series Fixer Upper, which aired on HGTV in the 2010s. Chip Gaines responded to the criticism on X, saying that Christians should try to understand others instead of judging them. Talk, ask questions, listen.. maybe even learn. And so were super honored that, when they were choosing three modern-day families, they did choose the same size couple as a modern-day familybecause we are; were your neighbors, and your coworkers. And so it was this amazing opportunity to [continue to] normalize same-sex couples and same-sex families.
