Sarah McBride passes first bill in Congress with unanimous bipartisan support She praised the bill as an example of the kind of bipartisan, common-sense policy that Congress should be focused on. Of course, these superhero movies are only pretend, he continued, but I happen to believe that there are actual superheroes in real life who walk among us, and these superheroes are called trans people. Like superheroes, they grew up in a society that doesnt understand them, that makes them the other Like superheroes, trans people just want the world to be a safer place, and they believe we should protect each other and live our lives in peace, he said.Like superheroes, evil billionaires want to get rid of trans people for no reason whatsoever, and just like superheroes, trans people are not new, he added.Cumming emphasized that trans people have always been here and that no matter how much the GOP tries to make Americans afraid of them, there is no evidence they are a threat to women. That is not true, however, of the current president, he pointed out. There is, however, ample evidence that the President of the United States publicly brags about barging into beauty pageant dressing rooms and grabbing women Wake up America. He also said a rapist would never bother pretending to be trans since the country actually treats rapists better than trans people. He then brought attention to the massive rise in anti-trans hate crimes in the country, no doubt fueled by the violent rhetoric coming from the GOP. Cumming said anti-trans hate crimes are up 125% in Los Angeles Cumming was referencing data from the 2023 LA County Hate Crime Report, which not only found that anti-trans hate crimes were up 125% but also that 97% of those crimes were violent. And according to GLAADs ALERT Desk Report, hate crimes against trans people in the United States increased 14% between May 2024 and May 2025. Additionally, 52% of all anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes targeted trans and gender nonconforming people, GLAAD reported. After communicating the dire situation, Cumming then made another jab at the president. Another surprising statistic, our sitting president is a million percent more likely to be on the Epstein list than any trans person, he said.Lets not pretend that weve got our eye on the ball when it comes to sexual violence, okay America? he continued, And how dare this president make random unfounded accusations of sexual criminality against trans people when he was literally ordered to pay $83 million to a woman who accused him of sexual assault. (Last year, a jury in New York City issued an $83.3 million judgment against the president for for repeatedly defaming E. Jean Carroll, the woman he sexually assaulted). Its the pot calling the kettle black after trying to grab its handle in the changing room of a TJ Maxx, Cumming said, adding that Trans people are far more likely to be victims of sexual assault or violence than be the perpetrators. He urged people to be worried about issues that are actually hurting the nation, like a lack of gun control laws. He then asked viewers to imagine what it would be like to be trans in America today.Imagine having to stockpile your essential life-saving medicine because your president might cut off access to it for no other reason than it makes him look strong to his base, he said.Cumming also said that although hes an atheist, he knows Jesus would have loved trans people because he loved all people. He changed water into wine, Cumming said. Is that not itself an act of transition? He concluded by touting the organizations still working to help queer and trans folks, like the Trevor Project, Trans Lifeline, and PFLAG. America, I beg you, lets all really try to give kindness a go, he said. It doesnt cost anything to be kind, and I guarantee that any situation you find yourself in will go better with a little kindness.
