It has been a whirlwind of a week since Donald Trumps return to the White House, which, as promised is proving to be oligarchy-central.Among the many executive orders signed was the Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing action, which claims the Biden Administration forced illegal and immoral discrimination programs, going by the name diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).Unfortunately, companies including Meta, Amazon, Walmart, McDonalds, Target, Lowes, and many more complied and removed these programs.Fortunately, other brands, like Costco and Ben & Jerry's are not backing down from their programs, nor are they intimidated by Trumps salesman tactics and threats. (@) Over the weekend, the progressive ice cream Ben & Jerry's came under fire from all the MAGA-hats for doubling down on their DEI programs and maintaining their status as an ally for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.See on InstagramBefore the video, the company released a statement stating that while the election may be over, the work isnt. Theyve partnered with the ACLU, the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE), Black Votes Matter, and also have a page dedicated to LGBTQ+ rights and resources.They even took part in the most recent People's March in Washington DC:See on InstagramWith all that in mind, it shouldnt come as a shock that they posted a video in response to people telling them to stick to ice cream.To which Ben & Jerry's responded: We use our power, our privilege, our platform, and our relationship with our fans to advocate for progressive social change, they said in a video posted to their official TikTok.
