Their Instagram page made them look like a picture-perfect couple, but New York City police recently arrested 40-year-old personal trainer Donald Zieben-Hood around 4 a.m. last Friday for allegedly stabbing his 34-year-old husband Jacob Zieben-Hood to death on the toilet of their Harlem, Manhattan apartment.Jacob Zieben-Hood, who was studying to become a doctor, got a restraining order against his husband last year, following a 2022 incident in which Donald Zieben-Hood allegedly strangled him and threatened him with a knife, The New York Post reported. Police reported nine separate domestic disturbance incidents between the couple since then, and Donald Zieben-Hood repeatedly violated the restraining order, paying the court thousands in fines each time. Nevertheless, it was Donald Zieben-Hood who contacted police from his now-deceased husbands apartment during the early morning hours of last Friday, saying that Jacob Zieben-Hood had attacked him with a knife. Donald Zieben-Hood claimed to have fought back in self-defense, then fallen asleep after the conflict, only to awaken to find his husband dead.Police found Jacob Zieben-Hood had died with a gash on his head and several wounds to the back of his leg, including one deep enough to penetrate the muscle, WNBC reported. One of the cuts severed an artery, causing him to bleed to death, the Post reported. Donald Zieben-Hood had three cuts on his own arm that required stitches. Jacob Zieben-Hood also sent his father an image of his wounded leg.They fought all the time, I would hear it, Craig Wesley, the couples 44-year-old neighbor, told The Post.The coroner hasnt released the deceased mans official cause of death, and police havent charged his husband with murder. But investigators are investigating the death as a homicide. In the meanwhile, police arrested Donald Zieben-Hood. He has been charged withburglary, criminal contempt (for violating the restraining order), and weapons possession, and is being held without bail.I knew something bad was gonna happen, Wesley added.
