You didnt just walk through our doors; you brought Scandals to life every single day.To the nonprofits weve partnered with: Thank you for allowing us to be part of your vital work. Whether raising funds, building awareness, or standing in solidarity. Its been an honor to serve alongside you for causes that matter deeply to us all.To our community: Youve made Scandals a landmark, not just in Portland nightlife, but in LGBTQAI+ history. Youve filled these walls with music, dancing, activism, friendship and chosen family. The post goes on to say that A new iteration of Scandals will be coming this fall to NE Alberta. We are looking forward to making a new all ages family friendly queer space. Back in June, Eater PDX broke news about the Alberta Street location, but at the time it was reported to be an additional location. While messages of support and nostalgia poured in for Scandals, so did concerns and backlash about the new iterations family-friendly and all ages description. Comments on Scandals Instagram have since been limited. The new establishment is expected to open this fall. In June, another longstanding LGBTQ+ establishment, CC Slaughters, announced they would be closing on Aug. 3 after 44 years in business. The message is still on their website but interested buyers have recently put in a bid to take over the establishment and the bar is still operating.
