Out rapper Lil Nas X was arrested and hospitalized after wandering the streets of downtown Los Angeles, in only white briefs and boots, near 4 a.m. on Thursday. News reports say he allegedly assaulted a police officer and may face charges after being released from the hospital. Some social media commenters wondered whether the incident was part of a possible drug use or a marketing gimmick for an upcoming album, The Root reported. Related Lil Nas X helped his bisexual brother come out Videos posted by the celebrity gossip website TMZ showed the musician walking down Ventura Boulevard in L.A.s Studio City neighborhood. The video, recorded from a car, begins with him singing, then pointing to the recorder and saying, Hey! Dont be late to the party tonight.When the recorder asks, Where at? the rapper continues walking and replies, You know where its at. He then passes by the camera, biting his index finger and then wagging it, saying, Uh-oh, somebodys going to pay for that, in a sing-song voice while walking away. He raises his hand and starts snapping while loudly singing, Da da duh!The third video clip shows him walking with his arms raised and saying, Yes, I am serving you c**t. Pointing at the recorder, he adds, And you better be at that f**king party tonight. He then proceeds to strut down the middle of the street, hands on hips, as if walking a runway.As the recorder follows him, the rapper says, Get my good side, ha ha. Every side, ha! He then puts his hands over his head and sings what sounds like a voguing beat. He then strikes a sideways pose, taking a broad stance and touching his boots with both hands while drawing his knees together and standing. He says, [Someone] taught me that [pose].The fourth clip opens with him loudly exclaiming while striking poses in the street. As he walks on, he begins singing, Batty boy, wont you give it to me, baby? Batty boy is a Jamaican slang expression for a gay man and also the name of one of his explicit 2023 raggae songs.In the fifth video clip, the rapper tells the recorder, Its going to be a beautiful sunrise. He then outstretches his hands towards the camera and says, Give me that phone so I can throw it. I wanna throw it far away so you never see it again. He bites his finger and says, I dont like phones. In the final clip, he speaks to the recorder, irritatedly saying, Dont miss the party tonight. Why are you still here? You need to be telling everybody about the f**king party, girl. The spokesperson said the arrestee would be charged and taken through the booking process upon his release from the hospital.In 2020, the BET Awards nominated Lil Nas X for Best New Artist, but he didnt win. He also stole the spotlight at the 2021 BET Awards show bykissing his male dancerswhile performing his song, Montero (Call Me by Your Name).
