Lil Nas X could be facing prison time after being charged with four felonies.The rapper and pop star, whose real name is Montero Hill, was taken into police custody and subsequently hospitalized on suspicion of a drug overdose last week.Early in the morning of Thursday, August 21, police responded to reports of a man reportedly walking down Ventura Boulevard naked and, at other times, just wearing underwear in the Studio City area of Los Angeles. TMZ released footage of Nas X walking down the street wearing underwear and cowboy boots while singing, dancing, and making incoherent statements.When police arrived, they say Lil Nas X charged them.A law enforcement source said that Lil Nas X "punched an officer twice in the face during the encounter," according to NBC News.Lil Nas X was handcuffed, thrown to the ground, and forcibly hospitalized.Now, he is being charged with four felonies. Lil Nas X is being charged with three counts of battery against a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer, according to LA Superior Court records.Felony level battery against a police officer is punishable by a fine of up to $10,000, by imprisonment for up to three years, or "by both that fine and imprisonment," according to the California Penal Code.The latest reports indicate that Nas X is being held in jail without bail. He also has an arraignment hearing in Van Nuys, where bail may be explored as an option.
