This weekend, Democratic National Committee (DNC) members elected Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta to serve as one of its three vice chairs. Kenyatta, a current member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives who recently ran for auditor general, is considered a rising star in the Democratic Party. In 2018, Kenyatta made history as the first openly-LGBTQ+ person of color elected to the Pennsylvania General Assembly.He joins co-vice chairs David Hogg and Artie Blanco, along with newly elected chair Ken Martin, as part of the new leadership team for the DNC.The DNC is the governing body of the Democratic Party in the United States. Establishing infrastructure in all 3,244 counties will enable local organizing and ensure we reach every ZIP code.Kenyatta emphasized the need for Democratic support at all levels, stating that success in significant public policies starts with contesting down-ballot races, including city councils and school boards.Kenyatta also addressed a reliance on outdated communication channels that can misdirect efforts.Voters seek respect and authenticity, so we must adapt our content strategies to align with how they consume information today, said Kenyatta.
