Marjorie Taylor Greene rails at misogynistic pig Don Lemon for visiting her office
Anti-LGBTQ+ Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) accused gay journalist Don Lemon of misogyny for aggressively harassing her staff on Wednesday. In reality, Lemon was part of a group seeking to talk with Congress members about impeaching the president.A video of the office visit shows Lemon entering Greenes office with several activists who request to meet with her. Her office worker says that Greene isnt in and that they can leave a message. Related Don Lemon is done with people defending Donald Trumps racism We would like to make sure she knows that we need to get Donald Trump impeached and out of office, says Carlos lvarez, the founder of American Opposition, an anti-fascist political action committee.A blonde male staff member of Greenes office then says, Uh, we dont permit recording in this office. So Im going to have to ask you to stop recording. This is a private office. When lvarez says the group is there to meet Greene, the staffer responds, Youre not residents of our district and you havent requested a meeting. The staffer then accuses the group of bombarding Greenes office, even though they dont live in her congressional district. Several group members say that Greene represents the American people who also pay her salary with their taxes. The staffer then points out that group members are still recording, and he and lvarez argue over that point as the staffer commands the group to leave. As the group exits and the staffer closes the door, the group jeers, boos, and applauds. Someone says, Nazis! while another group member extends their middle finger towards the closed office door.Greene shared a video clip showing what happened while criticizing Lemon on X. Greene wrote, This is how Don Lemon, who was fired by CNN for being such a disgusting, misogynistic pig to his female coworkers and women, is trying to get viewers for his new podcast. Clearly, his misogyny continues. Capitol Police had to ask Don and his production team to leave for aggressively harassing my staff after they stormed the Capitol and my office. Isnt this inciting an insurrection?? Marjorie Taylor Greene (@RepMTG) September 2, 2025 However, the group wasnt Lemons production team, the group didnt aggressively harass her staff (they never shouted and left when told), and the police officer didnt ask them to leave either. The officer approached the crowd and told them not to make such disorderly noise. The group then apologized, promised to be quiet, and asked him for directions to Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), which the officer provided.Greenes comments about Lemon refer to his February 2023remarksabout then-Republican presidential candidateNikki Haley not being in her prime after Haley made similar remarks about then-President Joe Biden. Lemons remark was widely criticized as misogynistic, and CNN fired him on April 24, 2023,amid reports of other diva-like behavior and falling ratings for his CNN show. Also, Greene was trolling with her mention of inciting an insurrection. She has long criticized Democrats for accusing the president of inciting the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot with his baseless claims of nationwide fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Greene and Trump have both referred to the imprisoned rioters as political prisoners, even though they injured numerous police officers, broke into congressional offices, and threatened to kill the then-vice president and other Congress members.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.
