The National LGBTQ Task Force has issued a press release along with 200 LGBTQ+ organizations in solidarity, addressing a commitment to advancing freedom during the second Trump administration. Read the full release below. A Message to Our Community from 200+ Organizations Committed to Advancing LGBTQIA2S+ FreedomRemember: were stronger together. Dont run and hide. We have to be more visible and unified than ever! Miss Major Griffin-GracyMiss Majorgave the LGBTQ+ community and our allies this call to action in October 2018, under the first Trump Administration. She addressed our fear and anxiety as we reacted to a leaked draft of a rule detailing changes to how Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act would be implemented, which would remove protections from discrimination for many marginalized communities. She ended her gentle message to her beloved trans and gender nonconforming community with a powerful reminder:We are still here.We are here because of the love and care of movement leaders like Miss Major. In every community across the United States, there are trans elders who have shown us how to navigate moments like this. We honor Miss Major, our trans elders, and our trans youth by advocating for a healthcare system that cares for us from youth to our golden years because every person, across race, gender and ability, deserves to live long, healthy, joyful lives. We are here because of the grit and humor ofCeciliaGentili, who taught us that we are all worth fighting for. When this administration and its supporters act to dim our light, we honor Cecilia by showing up for our community and shining bright as our true selves. We are here because of the vision and tenacity ofLorena Borjas, mother to trans migrants, and an inspiration to all of us who believe that liberation for LGBTQIA2S+ people is a global commitment. We honor Lorena by fighting to keep our families and communities whole. We are here because ofMonicaRoberts fierce commitment to telling our stories and uplifting our history. We honor Monica by taking on those who try to bully their way into power, who ban books and medical care, and pass laws controlling who we can be and love.In these challenging times, we remind ourselves that ours is a legacy of care. Our stories, our families, our art, our voices, and our lives are powerful. We hold onto this truth:Those working to divide us cannot take away our joy because they didnt give it to us in the first place. Trans and queer joy will always exist because trans and queer people will always be here. Its crucial for LGBTQIA2S+ communities, organizations, and our allies across the country to come together. When we collaborate and when we create community, we amplify our power and strengthen our impact. For those who are ready to take action and have the capacity, there are many ways to get involved including:Joining or supporting local and national advocacy efforts. The organizations listed below are a start.Sharing stories of resilience and uplifting voices within our community.Engaging in campaigns that fight for our rights and protect our future. To everyone in our community: We are here. We will keep fighting for us, showing up for us, and creating spaces where we can all feel safe and loved. We are not alone.Through solidarity, thoughtfulness, and resilience, we will keep pushing forward. Our commitment to intersectionality and community ensures that all of us move forward as one.We are here. Together, we are stronger. Together, we will continue to fight for a world where all LGBTQIA2S+ people and our families are seen, heard, and celebrated. The following national, state, and local organizations join in solidarity:Advocates for Trans EqualityAdvocates for YouthAlbemarle/Stanly County PFLAG ChapterAlliance For Full Acceptance SCArkansas Black Gay Mens ForumAtlanta PrideBasic Rights OregonBayard Rustin Center for Social JusticeBlue Ridge PrideBrenham PFLAGCenter on HalstedCenterLink: The Community of LGBTQ CentersCentral Valley Gender Health & WellnessCharlotte Trans HealthCOLAGECompass LGBTQ Community CenterDecatur County PRIDE AllianceDiversity Center of OklahomaDiversity Collective Ventura CountyDiversity RichmondEquality CaliforniaEquality CaliforniaEquality Community CenterEquality FederationEquality FloridaEquality IllinoisEquality MaineEquality MichiganEquality New MexicoEquality North CarolinaEquality OhioEquality South DakotaFair WisconsinFairness CampaignFAIRNYFamily EqualityFranklin Pride TNGarden State EqualityGender JusticeGeorgia EqualityGLAADGrand Rapids Pride CenterGrand Rapids Trans FoundationGSAFEHenderson Equality CenterHendersonville PrideHuman Rights CampaigninTRANSitiveJim Toy Community CenterKeshetKeweenaw Chapter of PFLAGLavender Rights ProjectLGBT Center of RaleighLGBT+ Center Orlando, Inc.LGBTQ+ Center Lake CountyLouisiana Trans AdvocatesLouisville Youth GroupLPAC Action NetworkMaryland Legislative LGBTQ+ CaucusMassachusetts Transgender Political CoalitionMinnesota Transgender Health CoalitionMovement Advancement ProjectMuncie OUTreach LGBTQ+ CenterNaper Pride IncNational Center for Lesbian RightsNational LGBTQ Task Force Action FundNew Hampshire OutrightNoVA Prism CenterOgden PrideOne ColoradoOne Iowaone-n-tenOur Family CoalitionOutCenter Southwest MichiganOutFront MinnesotaOutNebraskaOutright VermontPFLAGPFLAG Acworth/DallasPFLAG Aiken SCPFLAG AkronPFLAG AnchoragePFLAG Athens, TNPFLAG AuburnPFLAG AuburnPFLAG BakersfieldPflag BaltimorePFLAG Bloomington-NormalPFLAG Bloomington-NormalPFLAG BolingbrookPFLAG BowiePFLAG Bucks CountyPFLAG Cape CodPFLAG Cape GirardeauPFLAG Carrollton GAPFLAG Carson RegionPFLAG CharlottePFLAG ChattanoogaPFLAG Clayton-ConcordPFLAG ClevelandPFLAG Clinton River CitiesPFLAG Columbus, OhioPFLAG Concord KannapolisPFLAG DallasPFLAG Danville / Central Susquehanna ValleyPFLAG DaytonPFLAG Deerfield, ILPFLAG DelawarePFLAG DenverPFLAG DuPagePFLAG EnfieldPFLAG Enid OKPFLAG Evansville/NewburghPFLAG FishersPFLAG Flat Rock/Hendersonville, NCPFLAG FlorencePFLAG Fort CollinsPFLAG FranklinPFLAG Franklin-HampshirePFLAG FresnoPFLAG GalesburgPFLAG Genesee FlintPFLAG Geneva/Tri-CitiesPFLAG Grayslake/Round LakePFLAG Great Lakes Bay RegionPFLAG Greater BostonPFLAG Greater BostonPFLAG Greater OrlandoPFLAG Greater Placer CountyPFLAG Greater St. LouisPFLAG GreeleyPFLAG GreensburgPFLAG GreenvillePFLAG Greenville SCPFLAG Grosse PointePFLAG Hampton RoadsPFLAG Hannibal-QuincyPFLAG Hanover/MadisonPFLAG HartfordPFLAG Homer Glen LockportPFLAG Homewood-FlossmoorPFLAG Huntsville TXPFLAG IndianapolisPFLAG Ithaca-CortlandPFLAG JuneauPFLAG Kansas CityPFLAG LafayettePFLAG Lafayette/Tippecanoe CountyPFLAG LAS VEGASPFLAG LawrencevillePFLAG LivoniaPFLAG MadisonPFLAG Manhattan Beach/South BayPFLAG MariettaPFLAG MilwaukeePFLAG Moraga/LamorindaPFLAG Mount PleasantPFLAG NashvillePFLAG NationalPFLAG New Prague AreaPFLAG NYCPFLAG Oak Park AreaPFLAG Oakland-East BayPFLAG of Port HuronPFLAG Pawleys IslandPFLAG PeoriaPFLAG Plymouth-CantonPFLAG Portland MainePFLAG Roaring Fork ValleyPFLAG RockfordPFLAG Rome Georgia ChapterPFLAG SacramentoPFLAG SalisburyPFLAG San Diego CountyPFLAG San FranciscoPFLAG San Jose/PeninsulaPFLAG Sandy SpringsPFLAG Santa BarbaraPFLAG Santa ClaritaPFLAG SarasotaPFLAG SeattlePFLAG Silver City New MexicoPFLAG SomersetPFLAG Southern MarylandPFLAG SOUTHERN PINESPFLAG Springfield/SWMOPFLAG Stanwood-CamanoPFLAG StatesvillePFLAG StillwaterPFLAG Tinley ParkPFLAG Tulare & Kings CountiesPFLAG TulsaPFLAG TulsaPFLAG WenatcheePFLAG West Chester/Chester CountyPFLAG Westminster Carroll CountyPFLAG YoungstownPFLAG-Clinton Twp, MIPFLAG-LAPFLAG-WESTCHESTER COUNTY (NY)PFLAG, Princeton NJ ChapterPFLAGStormLakePoint of PridePride Center of VermontPride Lafayette (Indiana)Queer VoxQueerLit CollectiveRainbow LabsRochester Rainbow UnionRock Hill PFLAGRockland County Pride CenterSAGEShoals Diversity CenterSolano Pride CenterSomos Familia ValleSpencer Pride, Inc.Tennessee Equality ProjectThe Frederick CenterThe LGBTQ Center of DurhamThe LGBTQ Community Center of the DesertThe LIAM FoundationThe LOFT LGBTQ+ Community CenterThe Pride Center at Equality ParkThe Prideful Path ProjectTranscanworkTransgender Education Network of TexasTransgender Law CenterTransgender Resource Center of New MexicoTranzmission, IncTwisted ArtsWaves Ahead CorpWenatchee PFlagYouth Pride AssociationThe post 200+ organizations stand up for LGBTQIA2S+ freedom appeared first on News Is Out.
