Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) who has threatened to beat up one of her colleagues while referring to another as it says that she never dehumanized my colleagues as she discussed the death of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.Mace made her comment on CNN while discussing political division in the wake of Kirks death. Related Nancy Mace is now just shouting slurs in a committee hearing Right now, its very one-sided right now, she said about aggressive political rhetoric. The way that weve been I have never called one of my colleagues the names that weve been called. Ive never dehumanized my colleagues. Nancy Mace plays the victim card on CNN: "It's very one-sided right now. I have never called one of my colleagues the kind of names that we've been called. I've never dehumanized my colleagues." (Would've been nice for Kate Bolduan to push back on Mace's blatant lies.) pic.twitter.com/YzfA4UGX7V Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) September 12, 2025 Insights for the LGBTQ+ community Subscribe to our briefing for insights into how politics impacts the LGBTQ+ community and more. Subscribe to our Newsletter today This may come as a surprise to Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE), the first out transgender person elected to Congress. Shortly after she was elected, Mace mounted a campaign to prevent McBride from using the womens room in the Capitol complex despite trans people having visited the Capitol for decades without incident. Mace posted several messages a day to social media attacking McBride and trans people as she tried to get resolutions passed preventing trans people from using the restrooms associated with their gender identities. And Mace dehumanized McBride by referring to her with the non-human pronoun it.Shes not a woman! Its aman! Mace said on Scripps News in November. Mace has also repeatedly used anti-trans slurson social media, atcampaign events, andat the Capitol. The point of slurs is to dehumanize people. And its not just her trans colleague that Mace has attacked. She also threatened to beat up Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) when Crockett called out her transphobia. If you wanna take it outside, we can do that! Mace shouted at Crockett in a House Oversight hearing in January.Outside of her colleagues, Mace posted a video of herself yelling expletives at a gay man who asked her if she would be hosting any town halls this year. Yeah. F**k you, Mace repeated in the video. Get out of my face.Just this past week, she made a joke about the size of the nose of one of her Jewish colleagues.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.
