WWW.404MEDIA.COI Tried Pre-Ordering the Trump Phone. The Page Failed and It Charged My Credit Card the Wrong AmountOn Monday the Trump Organization announced its own mobile service plan and the T1 Phone, a customized all-gold mobile phone that its creators say will be made in America.I tried to pre-order the phone and pay the $100 downpayment, hoping to test the phone to see what apps come pre-installed, how secure it really is, and what components it includes when it comes out. The website failed, went to an error page, and then charged my credit card the wrong amount of $64.70. I received a confirmation email saying Ill receive a confirmation when my order has been shipped, but I havent provided a shipping address or paid the full $499 price tag. It is the worst experience Ive ever faced buying a consumer electronic product and I have no idea whether or how Ill receive the phone.Trump Mobile is going to change the game, were building on the movement to put America first, and we will deliver the highest levels of quality and service. Our company is based right here in the United States because we know its what our customers want and deserve, Donald Trump Jr., EVP of the Trump Organization, and obviously one of President Trumps sons, said in a press release announcing Trump Mobile. The announcement describes the T1 Phone as a sleek, gold smartphone engineered for performance and proudly designed and built in the United States for customers who expect the best from their mobile carrier.Do you know anything else about this phone? I would love to hear from you. Using a non-work device, you can message me securely on Signal at joseph.404 or send me an email at joseph@404media.co.On the Benny Show podcast Trump Jr. said the phone is for people who want a phone made in America that without the potential of a backdoor made into the hardware that some of our adversaries may have installed in there. Trump Jr. also said call centers for Trump Mobile will be in St. Louis, so were keeping our data on shore.Various phone companies and projects have pushed the made in America aspect of their phones. One is the Liberty Phone from Purism. Building a device in America or ensuring the integrity of a phones supply chain can be exceptionally difficult for a smaller company, because many components may be made in China or other countries even if the device itself is assembled in the U.S. And ultimately, a company with no telecom or hardware experience selling a device like the T1 Phone is probably not going to have the expertise to build a more secure device than, say, Apple or Google with its own Pixel devices, which have massive teams updating the hardware and operating system and constantly hunting for threats against their devices and users. The mobile carrier part of Trump Mobile appears to be a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), which is essentially a carrier that piggybacks off the technical infrastructure of the countrys other fully-fledged carriers like T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. The Trump Organizations announcement says that Trump Mobile will offer 5G service through all three major cellular carriers. The Trump family and organization continue to make lucrative deals based on the Trump name while President Trump is in power. Bloomberg found that since Trumps reelection campaign, the name has powered more than $10 billion of real estate projects, $500 million in sales from one of his crypto ventures, and millions from stakes in other companies. After maybe pre-ordering my T1 Phone, the confirmation email said I could log into TrumpMobile.com to make changes to my account. I did that, changed my password as prompted, and then hit another error page. I have not been able to log into the site.0 Comments 0 Shares 46 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.404MEDIA.CORNC Sued Over WinRed's Constant 'ALL HELL JUST BROKE LOOSE!' Fundraising TextsThis article was produced in collaboration with Court Watch, an independent outlet that unearths overlooked court records. Subscribe to them here.A family in Utah is suing the Republican National Convention for sending unhinged text messages soliciting donations to Donald Trumps campaign and continuing to text even after they tried to unsubscribe. From Trump: ALL HELL JUST BROKE LOOSE! I WAS CONVICTED IN A RIGGED TRIAL! one example text message in the complaint says. I need you to read this NOW followed by a link to a donation page. The complaint, seeking to become a class-action lawsuit and brought by Utah residents Samantha and Cari Johnson, claims that the RNC, through the affiliated small-donations platform WinRed, violates the Utah Telephone and Facsimile Solicitation Act because the law states [a] telephone solicitor may not make or cause to be made a telephone solicitation to a person who has informed the telephone solicitor, either in writing or orally, that the person does not wish to receive a telephone call from the telephone solicitor. The Johnsons claim that the RNC sent Samantha 17 messages from 16 different phone numbers, nine of the messages after she demanded the messages stop 12 times. Cari received 27 messages from 25 numbers, they claim, and she sent 20 stop requests. The National Republican Senatorial Committee, National Republican Congressional Committee, and Congressional Leadership Fund also sent a slew of texts and similarly didnt stop after multiple requests, the complaint says.On its website, WinRed says its an online fundraising platform supported by a united front of the Trump campaign, RNC, NRSC, and NRCC.A chart from the complaint showing the numbers of times the RNC and others have texted the plaintiffs. Defendants conduct is not accidental. They knowingly disregard stop requests and purposefully use different phone numbers to make it impossible to block new messages, the complaint says. The complaint also cites posts other people have made on X.com complaining about WinReds texts. A quick search for WinRed on X today shows many more people complaining about the same issues.Im seriously considering filing a class action lawsuit against @WINRED. The sheer amount of campaign txts I receive is astounding, one person wrote on X. Ive unsubscribed from probably thousands of campaign texts to no avail. The scam is, if you call Winred, they say its campaign initiated. Call campaign, they say its Winred initiated. I cant be the only one! Last month, Democrats on the House Judiciary, Oversight and Administration Committees asked the Treasury Department to provide evidence of suspicious transactions connected to a wide range of Republican and President Donald Trump-aligned fundraising platforms including WinRed, Politico reported. In June 2024, a day after an assassination attempt on Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania, WinRed changed its landing page to all-black with the Trump campaign logo and a black-and-white photograph of Trump raising his fist with blood on his face. I am Donald J. Trump, text on the page said. FEAR NOT! I will always love you for supporting me.CNN investigated campaign donation text messaging schemes including WinRed in 2024, and found that the elderly were especially vulnerable to the inflammatory, constant messaging from politicians through text messages begging for donations. And Al Jazeera uncovered FEC records showing people were repeatedly overcharged by WinRed, with one person the outlet spoke to claiming he was charged almost $90,000 across six different credit cards despite thinking hed only donated small amounts occasionally. Every single text link goes to WinRed, has the option to repeat your donation automatically selected, and uses shady tactics and lies to trick you into clicking on the link, another donor told Al Jazeera in 2024. Lets just say Im very upset with WinRed. In my view, they are deceitful money-grabbing liars. And in 2020, a class action lawsuit against WinRed made similar claims, but was later dismissed.0 Comments 0 Shares 49 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.LGBTQNATION.COMConservative org insisted straight couples would divorce in droves if marriage equality were legalOne of the biggest arguments used against the legalization of marriage equality in the U.S. was the idea that straight men would leave their families if same-sex couples were allowed to get married, forcing women to raise children as single mothers. While today that might seem silly, the right believed at the time that the argument was strong enough to be presented before the Supreme Court. The National Organization for Marriage (NOM) which, despite its name, was the leading organization against marriage equality before the Supreme Court legalized it in all 50 states in its 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges decision saw the argument as good enough to include in its brief filed with the Supreme Court urging them to rule against marriage equality in Obergefell. Related Why did this Republican chairwoman say that same-sex marriage is rife with fraud? They really thought that two male or two female friends would abuse same-sex marriage for benefits. Redefining marriage will also entrench an understanding of marriage that elevates adult fulfillment over childrens needs and that denies the benefits to children from being raised by their biological parents or from having both a mother and a father, NOM argued. This newfound meaning of marriage will result in fewer man-woman couples, specifically those in disadvantaged communities, who together persevere through marital difficulties for the well-being of their families. Dive deeper every day Join our newsletter for thought-provoking commentary that goes beyond the surface of LGBTQ+ issues Subscribe to our Newsletter today After all, if society understands marriage to exist predominantly for adult happiness, then the idea of sticking through hard times for the good of others, be it children or a spouse, will decline further. This month, LGBTQ Nation is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Obergefell decision, and Im looking back at some of the wild predictions the right made to argue against marriage equality in the years leading up to Obergefell. So far, Ive written about James Dobsons claim that marriage equality will lead to father-daughter marriage and another claim on the right that same-sex marriages will be rife with fraud. This one isnt a slippery slope argument. NOM wasnt saying that allowing same-sex couples to marry will allow something else to happen later on. And they werent arguing that fathers will go off and marry men because they will feel free to live their lives as gay.Rather, the argument was pretty much the heart of their advocacy against marriage equality: times are changing, and thats bad. In reality, the cultural understanding of marriage since the mid-20th century had changed. It went from being seen as an institution meant to force men and women into certain patriarchal gender roles to instead being seen as something that people should want to enter. NOM was arguing that this is bad because what if people dont want to be married? What if theyre free to choose another way to live? Its basically the other side of the coin of the argument queer couples were making, which is that the freedom to decide who you spend your life with is a fundamental freedom that everyone should enjoy. That already included divorce, and it should include same-sex couples, too.If NOM came out and said, Freedom is bad, actually, well, that probably wouldnt have gone over well in a country where the word freedom is basically a synonym for good. So instead, they fear-mongered about freedom without using the word. Their brief in Obergefell claims that studies have shown that people who embrace the adult-centered view of marriage were more likely to divorce, which makes sense people who are likely less religious, who dont hold patriarchal views of marriage, are more likely to leave marriages that make them unhappy. NOM also argued that divorce can be bad for womens finances, increasing their risk of poverty, which is still probably true. But nowhere in the brief do they show that marriage equality would cause this change, and for good reason: They got the causation backward. People started considering marriage equality a viable policy in the late 20th century because of the changes to how people saw the institution that happened over the prior decades, not the other way around. That is, straight people divorcing isnt queer peoples fault. If a straight couple divorces and has a harder time paying the bills now that they have to maintain two households, it really has nothing to do with whether the family down the street has two mothers. Even if the parents became more liberal in their views on marriage as a result of Obergefell as NOM said they would its already a stretch to believe that happened at any scale, but lets entertain it for the sake of argument theyre still adults and it was still their decision to get divorced. There is also an argument to be made about the harm of parents sticking together even though they should get divorced, including emotional harm to the kids from having unhappy parents who cant get along. While being a single mother can be hard, women in heterosexual relationships are much more likely to file for divorce than men. People choose divorce because they think its necessary, not because theyre frivolous and dont know whats good for them. They dont need the likes of NOM to make decisions for them.Last, this prediction was just wrong. Divorce rates didnt increase as a result of Obergefell. They actually decreased. The U.S. Census Bureau says that the marriage rate stayed about the same between 2012 and 2022, but that the divorce rate decreased from around 9.8 divorces per 1000 women over the previous year to 7.1. Thats a 28% decrease. Its unlikely that conservatives would admit that they were wrong because, like all of the arguments made against marriage equality, this one was made in bad faith. Conservatives oppose same-sex marriage rights either because of their religious beliefs or because they just plain dont like LGBTQ+ people. They realize that they cant present arguments like that in court, so they make up social scientific reasons to oppose marriage that have only tenuous links to reality. That this argument was a prediction that didnt come true doesnt matter. If the Court overturns Obergefell one day and they get to argue about marriage again, theyre not going to concern themselves with the particulars of the truth.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.0 Comments 0 Shares 31 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.LGBTQNATION.COMBritish Library to reinstate Oscar Wildes reading pass in symbolic gesture of repentanceThe British Library has announced it will posthumously reinstate gay poet and playwright Oscar Wildes reader pass after revoking it in 1895 due to his homosexuality. Known at the time as the British Museum Reading Room, the venue banned Wilde after he wasfound guilty of gross indecency with men and sentenced to two years of hard labor. Related Oregon just passed a law stopping schools from banning books just because LGBTQ+ people wrote them Out Gov. Tina Kotek (D) is expected to sign the bill into law. The symbolic pass will be presented to Wildes grandson, Merlin Holland, at an event on October 16, Wildes birthday. Asked how Wilde might react to the gesture, Holland told The Guardian, Hed probably say about time too. Never Miss a Beat Subscribe to our newsletter to stay ahead of the latest LGBTQ+ political news and insights. Subscribe to our Newsletter today Holland, who is also a Wilde scholar, said that his grandfather had already been imprisoned for three weeks when theBritish MuseumReading Room revoked his access. So he wouldnt have known about it, which was probably as well It would have just added to his misery to feel that one of the worlds great libraries had banned him from books just as the law had banned him from daily life. But the restitution of his ticket is a lovely gesture of forgiveness, and Im sure his spirit will be touched.Holland also said, however, that he doesnt think his grandfathers conviction should be pardoned as part of a 2017 UK law allowing posthumous pardons for anyone convicted under former laws that criminalized homosexuality. The law led to pardons for an estimated 50,000 to 100,000 gay and bisexual men, but the names of those men were not released. Oscar didnt think there was anything wrong in same-sex love Im not absolutely certain he has been pardoned If I had to ask for a pardon, I wouldnt, because all it would do is make the British establishment feel better about itself Historys history, and you cant start rewriting it. Laura Walker, lead curator of modern archives and manuscripts, said the reinstatement of the pass is even more important since the British Library owns a massive collection of Wildes manuscripts. We really want to honour Wilde now and acknowledge what happened to him, Walker told The Guardian. Section 11 of the law, which related to the criminalization of homosexuality, was unjust.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.0 Comments 0 Shares 31 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.PRIDE.COMPedro Pascal look-alike contest crowned this offline NYC dadTwo Pedros are better than one And a Brooklyn dad was crowned the winner of a Pedro Pascal look-alike contest in New York City on Sunday, June 15.A man named George Gountas beat out 30 other contestants for the title, $50, and a years supply of burritos from Lower East Sides Son Del North Mexican restaurant.Gountas a lighting designer on The Daily Show started getting comments about having a similar appearance to Pascal's when "Game of Thrones came out the first time that's when we first heard it," Gountas's wife, Jenny Gania, told The Wrap."Then some kids started noting it, too, so I was like, when we saw this [contest], I was like, 'It's Father's Day. You have to go. It's going to be your Father's Day treat," Gania added. "It's funny, because [Gountas is] not on social media at all. But now he's going to be everywhere." (@) Annisha Garcia, owner of Lower East Sides Son Del North Mexican, said she hosted the contest in part in response to Pascal's 2023 comment claiming there was no "good Mexican food in New York." "There is, and we are here," Garcia responded. The current trend of lookalike contests took off in 2024 after NYC hosted an event for Timothe Chalamet, and the Oscar-nominated actor actually showed up to the event. Pascal didn't make this contest, but perhaps one day he'll cross paths with Gountas. The self-proclaimed "lazy 50 year old bougie bitch" has become a viral sensation as of late, following his beloved roles in Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian, The Last of Us, and more. He's also an outspoken ally to his transgender sibling and even slammed J.K. WWW.LGBTQNATION.COMVA doctors can deny care to Democrats, unmarried veterans under new ruleUpdated guidelines for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hospitals allow doctors and other care providers to refuse to treat patients based on their marital status and political affiliations.Prior to the recent change, VA hospital bylaws required all medical staff to treat patients regardless of their race, age, color, sex, religion, national origin, politics, marital status, or disability. But, according to the Guardian, personal characteristics that are not protected by federal nondiscrimination law, such as national origin, politics, and marital status, have been removed. As the outlet notes, while all veterans are still entitled to treatment at VA medical centers, the change allows individual staffers to refuse to treat certain patients. Related 69 Dems sign letter demanding answers about Veterans Affairs shameful anti-trans policies The letter called the VA secretary hypocritical and slammed him for his decision to pit veterans against each other. Rules around hiring decisions have also been changed to allow discrimination against candidates based on their national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, membership in a labor organization, or political party affiliation. Never Miss a Beat Subscribe to our newsletter to stay ahead of the latest LGBTQ+ political news and insights. Subscribe to our Newsletter today According to the Guardian, VA press secretary Peter Kasperowicz said that the new rules, which have already gone into effect at some VA hospitals, were implemented in response to the presidents January 20 executive order titled Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government. The anti-trans order declared that the U.S. government would only recognize two sexes, male and female, based on biology, and instructed all government agencies to end the Federal funding of gender ideology. However, its unclear how the order relates to allowing VA hospital staff to discriminate based on marital status and political party affiliation. While Kasperowicz insisted that all eligible veterans will always be welcome at VA and will always receive the benefits and services theyve earned under the law, he did not dispute that the new guidelines allow VA doctors to discriminate against patients and could result in doctors being fired for their own marital status or political affiliations. Veterans interviewed by the Guardian said the new guidelines would likely most impact women, LGBTQ+ veterans, and those who live in rural areas with few doctors. It seems on its face an effort to exert political control over the VA medical staff, Dr. Arthur Caplan, head of the division of medical ethics at New York Universitys Grossman School of Medicine, said of the change. The extremely disturbing and unethical new guidance could result in doctors questioning patients about their support for Trump or for LGBTQ+ rights. Those views arent relevant to caring for patients. So why would we put anyone at risk of losing care that way? Caplan said.Former VA Under Secretary for Health Kenneth Kizer said that the new rules seem to open the door to discrimination on the basis of anything that is not legally protected. Kizer said that under the new rules, VA doctors could potentially refuse to treat patients not just for their current or past political activity, but also based on their personal behavior such as alcohol or marijuana use or on their reason for seeking care including allegations of rape and sexual assault.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.0 Comments 0 Shares 32 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.LGBTQNATION.COMConversion therapy group holds rally at California State Capitol to oppose LGBTQ lifestyleLast week, members of the Changed Movement gathered on the steps of the California State Capitol and rallied for gay people who want to find Christ and abandon the LGBTQ lifestyle. The organizations name is slippery, and that may be the point. Related Ex-gay group Changed is part of a bizarre faith-healing cult. Dont fall for it. The group also tries to raise people from the dead and re-grow lost limbs through prayer. The group of so-called ex-gays is a political successor to the infamous and disbanded Exodus International ex-gay ministry, which shut its doors in 2013 as its president admitted conversion therapy doesnt work. Insights for the LGBTQ+ community Subscribe to our briefing for insights into how politics impacts the LGBTQ+ community and more. Subscribe to our Newsletter today Now, the same forces behind that failed movement are backing the amorphously titled Changed movement, a repackaged religious freedom version of the failed Exodus. On Thursday, they ostensibly gathered in Sacramento to celebrate the June 12 anniversary of the failure of a 2018 California billthat would have labeled conversion therapy fraud, according to speakers at the event. But it was more about keeping their repackaged argument for conversion therapy in the news.In March, the Supreme Court agreed to hear a case challenging local and state laws banning the debunked practice for LGBTQ+ youth, with a decision expected in 2026.The challenge was filed by Alliance Defending Freedom, which shares ties with Changed Movement and its primary sponsor, the mega Bethel Church in Redding, California, just north of Sacramento. The host church has 11,000 members and a $60 million annual budget. In 2020, Bethelwas the fifth-largest employer in Shasta County, where Redding is the county seat.ADF is wielding unprecedented influence right now in its fights against marriage equality, reproductive rights, gender-affirming care, and other right-wing Christian causes, and within the presidential administration. Theyre listed as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The new argument justifying conversion therapy holds that banning the practice is an infringement on religious freedom and raises Christ to the level of primary counselor in the conversion. The Catholic News Agency helped sell the rebrand in a story on the Sacramento news conference that focused on the groups founder, Ken Williams.Through his relationship with God and with the support of a good counselor Williams recovered from the LGBTQ lifestyle after more than a decade of wrestling with same-sex attraction, CNA wrote of Williams testimony from the State Capitol steps.Williams struggled with suicidal ideation because he was torn he was a Christian, but he also had same-sex attraction. My faith convictions were that God wanted me to live a life not including those letters [LGBTQ], Williams said. When his church and family helped connect him with a Christian psychologist, Williams started his path to healing. He went on to meet with the counselor weekly for five years.I was never suicidal after that, CNA quoted Williams in the new conversion therapy pitch. I got to know God as the one who forgives and has grace for my struggles.Conversion therapy has been linked with anxiety, severe psychological distress, depression, alcohol abuse, and suicidal attempts.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.0 Comments 0 Shares 32 Views 0 Reviews

THEONION.COMTrump Calls Shooting Victims To Rant About Tim WalzWASHINGTONReaching out to the surviving victims of Saturdays shootings as they recovered from their numerous gunshot wounds, President Donald Trump reportedly called Minnesota state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette Hoffman on Monday to rant about Gov. Tim Walz. Your governor was very unfair to me in the 2024 electiona real nasty piece of work, that Walz, said Trump, raving over the phone to the hospitalized couple as he described how Minneapolis had turned into a complete hellhole under Walzs leadership of the state. Did you hear about his trips to China? Very suspicious, if you ask me. And he lied about his military service. So disgraceful! It really is a shame that hes still in office. You both have my deepest condolences for all the suffering that moron has caused the great state of Minnesota. According to reports, Trump assured the Hoffmans that hed do everything in his power to make sure Walz was next. The post Trump Calls Shooting Victims To Rant About Tim Walz appeared first on The Onion.0 Comments 0 Shares 44 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.LGBTQNATION.COMTrump Jr says trans people are the most violent in wake of anti-trans Minnesota shooterDonald Trump Jr. has called the transgender community the most violent domestic terror threat in the U.S. and probably the entire world, while claiming that suspected right-wing assassin Vance Boelter who allegedly slaughtered Minnesotas pro-LGBTQ+ House speaker on Saturday is actually left-wing. He is echoing right-wing anti-trans smears and conspiracy theories about Boelter that contradict publicly available facts. When discussing Boelter with right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson, Trump Jr. claimed that Boelter allegedly murdered Minnesotas state House Speaker Melissa Hortman (D) and her husbandbecause she voted against Democrat Party policy, which was the unabashed unlimited health care funding for illegal immigrants. There is no proof that Boelter targeted her for her June vote on that issue, as police havent released Boelters rumored manifesto or revealed his views on that policy. Related No Kings Yas Queens: The best & gayest signs from the No Kings protests The peoples anger has clearly spawned some creativity. Trump Jr. took this a step further and inexplicably tied Boelter to the trans community, telling Johnson, Its like the radical transgender movement is per capita the most violent domestic terror threat, if not in America, probably the entire world because you have all these shooters and murderers or attempted murderers in such a tiny population. Subscribe to our Newsletter today Don Jr: "The radical transgender movement is per capita the most violent domestic terror threat if not in America, probably the entire world." pic.twitter.com/7rux4OUCrl Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) June 16, 2025His comment is a common trope of right-wing anti-trans rhetoric. Right-wing figures like Trump, Trump Jr., Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and other conservative media outlets have repeatedly claimed thattrans people are dangerous and have falsely claimed that numerous school shooters are trans. However, the truth is thatthe vast majority of mass shooters in the U.S. are cisgender males. The right-wing focus on gun-toting queers and shooters mental illness is merely a way to stigmatize queer people while also drawing attention away from gun control regulations that could help stop gun-related deaths in the first place. As proof of Boelters far-left affiliation, both Trump Jr. and Johnson noted that the suspected killer had No Kings fliers in his vehicle, referring to the massive weekend anti-Trump rallies, and added that Boelter had been appointed to a bipartisan workforce development board by Democratic Gov. Tim Walz.I have a feeling that leftist Tim Walz isnt exactly appointing conservatives, Trump Jr. saidWalzs spokesperson told PolitiFact that Boelters 2019 reappointment to the 60-member board by Walz differs from gubernatorial appointees to the governors office or cabinet, adding that Walz had no relationship with Boelter, PBS reported. Don Jr blatantly lies about Vance Boelter: "I have a feeling that leftist Tim Walz isn't exactly appointing conservatives. Apparently he had the No Kings flyer in his thing. But he went after someone that didn't just blindly follow Democrat, radical leftist dogma." pic.twitter.com/QjrEs04rgR Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) June 16, 2025Johnson also noted that Boelter was the self-described CEO of something called the Red Lion Group, though its unclear what this group does, NBC News reports. Johnson claimed, without offering any evidence, that Red Lion is a non-governmental organization that received funds from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Johnson insinuated that any USAID-funded group is left-wing because the president has largely defunded and dismantled USAID even though the agency has operated under Republican and Democratic presidencies since 1961.Johnson claimed that the No Kings rallies encouraged people to kill the president and claimed that violence is not normal among the presidents Make America Great Again base of followers. However, a 2024 Associated Press fact-check found that right-wing groups have committed more acts of political violence in recent U.S. history. Its also worth noting that Trump pardoned January 6 rioters who injured over 100 police officers during the 2021 Capitol riots. While Boelters voting records didnt list any party affiliation, local Minnesota news outlet KAREinterviewedBoelters roommate and alleged best friend, David Carlson, who said that Boelter was a strong supporter of PresidentDonaldTrump. Police also found that Boelter had a suspected hit list of 70 individuals, including Democratic lawmakers and supporters of reproductive choice and other liberal causes,The Washington Postreported.Nevertheless, numerous right-wing social media posts by transphobic billionaire Elon Musk, U.S. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), and other conservative politicians have claimed that Boelter was a left-wing Marxist.Boelterreportedlyattended a Bible college that is a stronghold of theNew Apostolic Reformation, a movement that championsChristians to overtake the U.S. government. He also delivered an anti-LGBTQ+ sermon at a church event in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2023.President Trump has reportedly not called Walz following the weekend slayings.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.0 Comments 0 Shares 31 Views 0 Reviews

THEONION.COMGOP Lawmakers Clarify Their Hate-Filled Rhetoric Only Meant To Stoke FundraisingWASHINGTONFollowing the Minnesota attacks in which one Democratic state legislator was killed and another was shot nine times, Republican members of Congress issued a statement Monday clarifying that their hate-filled rhetoric was only meant to stoke fundraising. While some argue that our inflammatory language was intended to dehumanize and fuel violence against our political rivals, we can assure you our only objective was to prompt others to open their pocketbooks and support our campaigns, read a statement issued through the National Republican Congressional Committee that explained the repeated references to Democratic lawmakers being vermin who must be purged from America by any means necessary was merely a tool in the GOPs fundraising playbook, not a green light to start shooting people. It was never our purpose to inspire deadly attacks on our colleagues across the aisle when we called them Marxists attempting to destroy the American way of life and said they must be stopped at all costs. We just wanted voters to chip in $25 to help us meet our fundraising goals. The statement concluded by asking for just $5 so that Republicans can take matters into their own hands to prevent a violent Democratic takeover of the country. The post GOP Lawmakers Clarify Their Hate-Filled Rhetoric Only Meant To Stoke Fundraising appeared first on The Onion.0 Comments 0 Shares 41 Views 0 Reviews

Many of these arrests and detainments are done without due process and threaten vulnerable social groups. The Trump administration has been accused of escalating the protests by deploying the National Guard to suppress demonstrators, sparking further debate on the totalitarian nature of the Presidents tactics. We feel like now more than ever, theres more hateful s**t in this world, Gonia told Outs reporters at the show. There are so many problems, and when the problem seems so big, what we do is get local and we get to work. Now is a very tough time to be different in this world, she added. Tough time to be queer. But lets not forget that weve been here before. And whats gonna get us through time and time again is love and community and some really good fucking weed. The show took place before the day of the No Kings Protests, a series of national protests against the Trump administrations actions, including but not limited to the unconstitutional use of ICE to silence those speaking out against the war in Gaza, and attempting to deny trans people civil rights and equal protections.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.0 Comments 0 Shares 32 Views 0 Reviews
