WWW.LGBTQNATION.COMConservatives freak out over LGBTQ+ kids books still appearing on U.S. military basesDespite the presidents executive order seeking to ban LGBTQ+-inclusive books all federally funded schools, military libraries are still carrying such books, according to Washington Examiner, a right-leaning website.Parents stationed at U.S. military bases around the globe are still finding books that contradict the spirit and letter of the executive order, the publication reported. Libraries at Air Force, Army, and Navy installations continue to offer full-fledged activist books that introduce children to transgenderism, radical political slogans, drag queens, and even narratives that demonize whiteness and American history. Related Democrats demand Trump administration stop purging books from military schools The purge is so expansive that even JD Vances book got caught in it. At Aviano Air Base in Italy, for instance, one mother was reportedly shocked to find copies of A is for Activist, an alphabet book for young children. One of its pages states, T is for Trans. For Trains, Tiaras, Tulips, Tractors, And Tigers too! Trust in The True, he/she/They, That is you! Never Miss a Beat Subscribe to our newsletter to stay ahead of the latest LGBTQ+ political news and insights. Subscribe to our Newsletter today The mother who found this book told the Examiner, I am shocked and appalled that these books are not only available on the taxpayers dime but also prominently displayed in the kids section. I hate that even after an executive order from our president, employees think they dont have to follow the law. This shows how broken our system is and how much they want our children groomed.Grooming is a term that means earning someones trust in order to sexually abuse them. Anti-LGBTQ+ bigots regularly accuse queer people of grooming kids by exposing them to people or media that acknowledge the existence of LGBTQ+ people. The slur encourages violence against queer people and allies, and actually hurts genuine efforts to stop child sex abuse. The bases supervisory librarian reportedly explained to the Examiner that while the base follows executive orders regarding new [anti-diversity, equity, and inclusion] DEI and gender-ideology publications, it does not apply the same standards retroactively to commercially published materials already in circulation. The librarian also said that the librarys book selection processes abide by the American Library Associations Bill of Rights, which helps ensure that the selection process is free from censorship. The Examiner wrote, But to many parents, this isnt about censorship. Its about age-appropriateness, parental rights, and respecting federal law.To be clear, there is no federal law banning LGBTQ+ books from military bases. Rather, last January, the president signed Executive Order 14190, entitled Ending Radical Indoctrination in K12 Schooling. The order seeks to [eliminate] federal funding or support for illegal and discriminatory treatment and indoctrination in K-12 schools, including based on gender ideology. The order tasks U.S. attorneys with stopping any schools from unlawfully facilitating the social transition of a minor student (meaning any non-medical affirmation of a trans childs gender identity) or sexually exploiting minors. Library books containing LGBTQ+ characters and storylines do neither of these things. Nevertheless, another mother at a military base in Fort Rucker, Alabama, recently discovered that the base had the following childrens books: the same-sex female romance The Maiden and the Princess, the male same-sex romance Prince & Knight, the transgender romance Cinderella and a Mouse Called Fred, and the singalong book Swish, Swish!, Go the Drag Queens Hips. The mother especially lamented that her children were encountering these books without any warning, guidance, or parental oversight, the Examiner wrote. The discovery of these books has been tracked by Amy Haywood, founder of the anti-LGBTQ+ group Military Families in Support of Parental Rights. The group seeks to ensure that all military library books are age-appropriate and politically neutral, by which they mean appealing to their own political worldviews. It is beyond alarming that a book about men with a sexual fetish for cosplaying as garish women is being made available to small children in a U.S. military base library, Haywood told the Examiner. Who is curating the collection? What books were weeded in order to make room for this and other books that further the lie that children can be born in the wrong body?To be clear, trans identity in children is not a lie. In fact, all major American medical and psychological associations have affirmed the existence of trans children and declared their gender identities as valid and completely healthy.Haywood and the Examiner are both championing the so-called Families Rights and Responsibilities Act. A letter attached to the bill, which was recently sent to Congress members, claimed that existing military family organizations are failing to protect military families from ideological overreach in education and library content. In May, the Pentagon issued a memo directing all military leaders and commands to pull and review books that address anti-racism, diversity, or gender issues from libraries operated by branches of the military, including reading material from libraries within Department of Defense-run schools. The memo said that educational materials at base-operated libraries promoting divisive concepts and gender ideology are incompatible with the Departments core mission. The memo directed department leaders to promptly identify books that are incompatible with these guidelines and sequester them by May 21, but it didnt specify what would happen to the identified books. In April, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) representing 12 plaintiffs from U.S. military schools brought up a lawsuitagainst Pete Hegseth in his official capacity as Defense Secretary for ordering the removal of over 400 books from DOD school libraries. The plaintiffs argued that removing these books violates students First Amendment rights and denies these students the same educational opportunities as students in public schools.Subscribe to theLGBTQ Nation newsletterand be the first to know about the latest headlines shaping LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.0 Comments 0 Shares 2 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.PRIDE.COMClub World Cup victory photo gets awkward when Trump crashes & won't leaveDonald Trump never misses an opportunity to make something all about himself, and even the Club World Cup is no different. The president was on hand Sunday to present the trophy to the winning team. But when he passed the gleaming trophy over to Chelsea F.C. team captain, Reece James, Trump just....stuck around.Videos of the spectacle seem to show the soccer players waiting for Trump to get out of the way so they could take their victorious team photos. Even FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who has close ties to Trump, tried to lead him away, only to be ignored and eventually dismissed. (@) "Im actually dying at this video Chelsea players were waiting for trump to leave but he didnt" (@) "Chelsea trying to celebrate winning the World Cup with Trump in the way is FRYING ME" (@) The team wound up having to celebrate with Trump front and center, although they were eventually able to get him to move to the back for some of the photos. One of these ultimately served as the photo chosen by @ChelseaFC to post on social media, with only a sliver of Trump in the background, crashing their pic. (@) The whole thing was an utter embarrassment, leading to folks photoshopping Trump out of the pictures entirely. (Initially, there were rumors that the football club was behind this, but those were disproven.) (@) To add further insult, it was later reported that the trophy in question was a mere replica Trump claims Infantino told him he keep the real $230,000 trophy in the Oval Office "forever." THEONION.COMYorgos Lanthimos Figures He 3 Films Away From Hanging With Emma Stone Outside WorkATHENS, GREECELonging for the day they might cross the threshold from work friends to real friends, director Yorgos Lanthimos reportedly calculated Tuesday that he was only three films away from getting to hang out with Emma Stone outside of work. I can feel it, Im just one twisted period dramedy and two surrealist nightmares away from her agreeing to drinks on my patio, said Lanthimos, who admitted that he had hoped casting Stone in Bugonia, the pairs fourth and latest feature-film collaboration, would have given the two artists more conversational fodder beyond common shop talk. When I first asked her to get coffee with me when we were working on The Favourite, she blew me off, but on the set of Poor Things, she waved at me in the parking lot. Then, when we were making Kinds Of Kindness, we had a solid interaction about the best kind of nuts at the craft service table. So things are headed in the right direction, but were not there yet. Once I find the right project, well be gabbing over sushi in no time. Maybe something set at a 19th-century diving academy. Lanthimos added that it would just be nice to hang out with someone other than Mark Ruffalo for once. The post Yorgos Lanthimos Figures He 3 Films Away From Hanging With Emma Stone Outside Work appeared first on The Onion.0 Comments 0 Shares 3 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.PRIDE.COMBehind King of Drags Charles Galin Kings royal assent were two powerful Mexican women (exclusive)The King of Drag audience almost didn't meet Charles Galen King at all. The LA-born and based king, who exited the competition series this week following a prom-themed challenge, applied for the show just under the wire after brushing off repeated urging by friends and family to audition.I told myself, I admire competitions. But I'm done, I don't want to [complete], I just want to perform, they tell PRIDE. But while standing in line for a ride at the Knott's Berry Farm with their mother, they finally decided to give it a shot. We looked at the information on what I need to apply. And I started getting nervous and scared, they recall. I realized, oh, I should do this. That their mother was there during that pivotal moment should come as no surprise, as Charles credits her as one of the powerful Mexican women who inspired them to become a drag artist in the first place. Charles' career started in their living room when their mother turned the TV on to discover RuPauls Drag Race playing on the screen. It was 2011 when I was in high school, recounts Charles. Rather than flipping away, Charles mother saw something in those drag performers that her child could connect to and see themselves in. Look, a weird TV show, just like you, Charles recalls her saying. And their mother was right.I was like, whoa! Then I started researching, says Charles. By researching, they mean they began tracking down all the queens on Facebook and requesting them as friends. It was through Ravens page that Charles would discover another Latina beyond her mother who would change the trajectory of their life as an artist: Landon Cider. I looked at his profile, he happened to be a drag king, and I said, wow, I think this is what I would like to do, because I've always felt more masculine than feminine, but drag has also helped me accept my masculinity within my femininity, and my femininity within my masculinity, they recall. It's a form of expression and release, but also a form of [understanding] it's okay.It was a sentiment that Charles was able to express to Landon after a Halloween-themed show. (It was Landons birthday event). I was dressed in Slipknot, the drummer clown outfit. He was doing his Tin Man performance, and I started crying because it was beautiful and amazing, says Charles, who recalls having a realization of just how epic drag can be. I went up to him, and was like, Thank you for being an existing in this life. This season saw Charles being judged by Landon in the horror challenge, but rather than adding pressure, it was a moment of true validation. It was a beautiful gift, they say. [Like] I'm exactly where I need to be. So many elements coalesced to create the drag persona of Charles Gailin King. Along with horror elements, theater, and mascotting, their indigenous and Mexican heritage also play major roles in shaping Charles, both on and off the stage. And there is one more surprising influence: Charlie Chaplin movies. The moniker Charles is actually a reference to Chaplin (Galin, a nod to their government last name, and King honors their drag dad King Phantom). Cinema and Charlie Chaplin came into my life in high school, and then [mascotting, which to me] is big characters, but also silence. I realized meshing the two, theater and pantomime, is drag, just lip syncing. There are few rooms that would fully understand Charles like that of King of Drags Man Cave, in which they established brotherly bonds pretty much instantly. In particular, Charles grew close to their hotel roommate Tuna Melt. We met on the first day, and immediately I felt like, Oh, beautiful, primo cousin sibling, because we realized we're of Mexican descent and a person of color and queer. Their bond grew even closer after Tunas elimination. He started crying when I was about to leave [the next morning], and I said, It's all right, Tuna, let it out, my friend, you're cool, you're chill, they recall. But also, because I started farting, just out of nowhere. From then on, the two shared farts, giggles, and music.Something that comes across clearly about Charles both on and off the stage is their joy and embrace of everything life has to offer. That was hard won, however, as they revealed on the show. More than once, Charles attempted to take their life, and as a result, they have a nuanced take on life and death. Death is a part of life, because when there's life, there's death, there's death and there's life, they explain. I just welcome death as an old friend, because I've been there beforebut it's okay because I'm living this life right now, experiencing beauty, joy, with some pain, sadness, but that's the way of what makes me a human. Theyre eager to share all those feelings with the audience, When I first started [drag], I used to say, escape from the world for just two minutes and a half, and just look at me. But then over the years, I realized I want to perform and feel emotions and play, and I hope the audience feels that alongside me.Finding joy can be trickier now, with the state of the world under the current administration, particularly for a drag performer living in Los Angeles and of Latin descent. It's heartbreaking. It hurts to see images and videos, they admit, but they are pouring those feelings into political pieces on stage. And now I have a Trump picture, but I color it with pastel and add like a phallic object, and I rip it, which is inspired by the beautiful Irish singer Sinead O'Connor, when she [tore up a photo of] the Pope [on Saturday Night Live]. And when I'm on the mic, I always say, I love myself, I know myself, I accept myself, but I ask the audience to repeat it, and after that, I say, 'Free Palestine. Fuck ICE, fuck Donald Trump. While joy may feel in short supply, the brotherhood and special bonds Charles formed with his King of Drag brothers are abundant. Whether that was rolling around in the Tuna Can Van (the car Tuna Melt rented to take the eliminated kings on adventures while filming continued) or a particularly poignant moment at the end of the most recent episode, which saw Charles exit from the competition. But before they could walk away, their castmate King Molasses grabbed them, allowing Charles to release all their emotions. I was not expecting that beautiful embrace, says the king. But when he saw me with the Oh yeah, I'm going, [energy] he just [hugged me] and he whispered, Stay here, stay there. He allowed me to just let go and just accept my beautiful sadness within the joy of, like, I did it. I did the best I could. While their journey on the show may have ended, the next chapter in Charles saga is just getting started. Right now, they are formulating big plans for new numbers and new wigs, as well as expanding their online presence. Hey, this is our drag, they share. I just [want to] spotlight more drag kings wherever I go!0 Comments 0 Shares 3 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.PRIDE.COMEven diehard MAGA supporters & voters have begun turning on Trump over the Epstein filesAfter defending his every move, buying his never-ending merch, and voting for him in droves, MAGA supporters are finally turning on President Donald Trump, and so are the right-wing politicians and pundits who helped him get into office. And its all for one reason: the Trump administrations handling of the investigation into sex offenderJeffrey Epstein.Republican lawmakers may have blocked a move that could have forced Trump's AG to release the files on Epstein, but MAGA has been scrambling ever since Attorney General Pam Bondi released a two-page memo stating that the investigation into Epstein turned up no client list of powerful men who allegedly participate in Epstein crimes despite telling Fox News in February that the list was sitting on my desk right now and insisted that there was no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals.Trumps most rabid supporters quickly turned on Bondi, and some of the most prominent right-wing figures in the U.S. have lambasted the Trump administration for sweeping the so-called Epstein Files under the rug.Marjorie Taylor Greene (@) Conservative MAGA devotee Marjorie Taylor Greene has been talking about the Epstein list since last year, and despite Trump telling his supporters on Truth Social to "not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about, Greene refuses to let it go. Just yesterday, the Georgia congresswoman told her followers on X, America deserves the truth about Jeffrey Epstein and the rich powerful elites in his circle.Laura Loomer (@) When Laura Loomer wasnt busy being xenophobic or racist, she could usually be found praising Trump or following him around on the campaign trial, but now this die-hard MAGA supporter is turning on Trump and Scam Bondi for lying about Epstein on Fox News. Fox NewsFox News usually back Trump no matter what, but on Sunday, Fox & Friends anchor Kevin Corke called out the president for giving up on the investigation, saying that Trump could defuse this ticking time bomb if you simply get out there, continuing on to say that Trump has to answer questions to the American people because this story wont die and that is a distraction the president doesnt want, Mediate reported. Megyn Kelly (@) Former Fox News host and current right-wing podcaster Megyn Kelly usually has nothing but praise for the Trump administration, but after Bondi backtracked and said there was no list and the case was closed, she started ripping into Bondi and admitting that Trumps handling of the Epstein investigation is a scandal. Although, lest you think she was body snatched, Kelly does get a dig in on Democrats too. This is the first big scandal, I would say, of the Trump administration thats on team rational. Its not a fake media scandal like the left tries to create for President Trump every other day, its one of the rights own making and its not going well and it has to do with Jeffrey Epstein, Kelly said at a Turning Point USA Student Action Summit talk. And when she asks the audience to make some noise if they care about the Jeffrey Epstein scandal the crowd erupts.Glenn Beck (@) Glenn Beck may be known as a far-right political commentator who used to work for Fox News and now spews Republican talking points and hate on The Glenn Beck Program. But now the outspoken MAGA supporter is criticizing Trumps Attorney General for her handling of the Epstein case. Beck called out the fact that there is aa minute missing from the Epstein cell video and pointed out that Bondi should resign. This isnt about whether Epstein killed himself or not. What matters more is REAL transparency and justice. But instead what we got was absolute INCOMPETENCE in the Attorney Generals office, he wrote on X.Charlie Kirk (@) After telling his X followers that they should Vote Trump to release the list before the 2024 presidential election because he was so sure Trump was the key to the Epstein investigation, conservative political commentator and MAGA supporter Charlie Kirk is walking back this stance after Trump admitted that his supporters are turning against him when he whined on Truth Social that Were on one Team, MAGA, and I dont like whats happening. Now, despite his previous position, Kirk has now declared that he is done talking about Epstein, the Independent reports.Conservative Reddit from ConservativeAfter Congress voted on whether or not to release the Epstein files, and every Republican but one voted to keep them from the public, sentiment on the r/Conservative subreddit quickly changed. Trump supporters ran to the comment section to talk about how disappointed they are and seemed to not understand why their fave politicians are voting to conceal information about Epstein. They are all the same shit. Whether you wipe your ass with your left hand or right hand its still touching an asshole. Until the day that WE THE PEOPLE actually means anything again, we are nothing but peasants to the nobles once again. GW and his crew are rolling over in their graves. Vacher-CreamThis list must have every politician, wealthy individual, and anyone else with power, on it. Otherwise it makes no sense for them to be so hesitant to release this. moa711Honestly though, I never expected anything different. However, what I will say is this episode is highlighting who I can trust in the media. People like Charlie Kirk who I used to trust are clearly just repeating whatever the administration are telling them, rather than holding people's feet to the fire. -Istvan-5-0 Comments 0 Shares 3 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.PRIDE.COMMary Lambert reveals the important lessons she learned following her public divorceMary Lambert is learning to truly loving herself. The talented singer is known for beloved gay anthems like "Same Love," "She Keeps Me Warm," and "Secrets," but her comeback single "The Tempest" is some of her proudest work yet.Following a public divorce from her partner back in 2024, Lambert is channeling all of her energy into her new music and diving into important themes of heartbreak, oppression, and rebellion."I had this vision of being at a bar and flipping a table and throwing my tampon at a wall! I just wanted it to be so undeniably feminist. This is about anybody whose rights are under threat. It feels really good to release something like that," Lambert tells PRIDE. See on Instagram Lambert has happily moved on to a new loving relationship since her divorce, but the talented songwriter is stepping into her power by prioritizing self-love more than ever."My last relationship was very public and I made my identity about the relationship. When that relationship goes away, what are you left with? I had to rebuild and it's been such a great exercise to trust my own decision making. The relationship is a part of my life, but it doesn't define my life."With so much political unrest targeting the LGBTQ+ community today, Lambert hopes that her voice can inspire others to find their purpose and realize that they're not alone in these challenging times."I just want people to be able to access their most authentic, honest selves. I honestly think it is a privilege to be able to access your most honest self. I feel like the album covers the whole gambit of that, along with the political messaging. It's the best thing I've ever made!"Fans can follow Mary Lambert on Instagram here. To see the full interview, check out the video at the top of the page.0 Comments 0 Shares 3 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.PROPUBLICA.ORGMicrosofts Digital Escort Program Could Leave Sensitive Government Info Vulnerable to Espionage. Heres What to Know.by ProPublica ProPublica is a nonprofit newsroom that investigates abuses of power. Sign up to receive our biggest stories as soon as theyre published. For nearly a decade, Microsoft has used engineers in China to help maintain highly sensitive Defense Department computer systems. ProPublicas investigation reveals how a model that relies on digital escorts to oversee foreign tech support could leave some of the nations most sensitive data vulnerable to hacking from its leading cyber adversary. Here are the key takeaways from that report: Only U.S. citizens with security clearances are permitted to access the Defense Departments most sensitive data. Since 2011, cloud computing companies that wanted to sell their services to the U.S. government had to establish how they would ensure that personnel working with federal data would have the requisite access authorizations and background screenings. Additionally, the Defense Department requires that people handling sensitive data be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. This presented an issue for Microsoft, which relies on a vast global workforce with significant operations in India, China and the European Union. Microsoft established its low-profile digital escort program to get around this prohibition. Microsofts foreign workforce is not permitted to access sensitive cloud systems directly, so the tech giant hired U.S.-based digital escorts, who had security clearances that authorized them to access sensitive information, to take direction from the overseas experts. The engineers might briefly describe the job to be completed for instance, updating a firewall, installing an update to fix a bug or reviewing logs to troubleshoot a problem. Then the escort copies and pastes the engineers commands into the federal cloud. The problem, ProPublica found, is that digital escorts dont necessarily have the advanced technical expertise needed to spot problems. Were trusting that what theyre doing isnt malicious, but we really cant tell, said one current escort. The escorts handle data that, if leaked, would have catastrophic effects. Microsoft uses the escort system to handle the governments most sensitive information that falls below classified. According to the government, this includes data that involves the protection of life and financial ruin. The loss of confidentiality, integrity, or availability of this information could be expected to have a severe or catastrophic adverse effect on operations, assets and individuals, the government has said.Defense Department data in this category includes materials that directly support military operations. The program could expose Pentagon data to cyberattacks. Because the U.S.-based escorts are taking direction from foreign engineers, including those based in China, the nations greatest cyber adversary, it is possible that an escort could unwittingly insert malicious code into the Defense Departments computer systems.A former Microsoft engineer who worked on the system acknowledged this possibility. If someone ran a script called fix_servers.sh but it actually did something malicious, then [escorts] would have no idea, the engineer, Matthew Erickson, told ProPublica.Pradeep Nair, a former Microsoft vice president who said he helped develop the concept from the start, said a variety of safeguards including audit logs, the digital trail of system activity, could alert Microsoft or the government to potential problems. Because these controls are stringent, residual risk is minimal, Nair said. Digital escorts present a natural opportunity for spies, experts say. If I were an operative, I would look at that as an avenue for extremely valuable access. We need to be very concerned about that, said Harry Coker, who was a senior executive at the CIA and the National Security Agency. Coker, who also was national cyber director during the Biden administration, added that he and his former intelligence colleagues would love to have had access like that.Chinese laws allow government officials there to collect data as long as theyre doing something that theyve deemed legitimate, said Jeremy Daum, senior research fellow at the Paul Tsai China Center at Yale Law School. Microsofts China-based tech support for the U.S. government presents an opening for Chinese espionage, whether it be putting someone whos already an intelligence professional into one of those jobs, or going to the people who are in the jobs and pumping them for information, Daum said. It would be difficult for any Chinese citizen or company to meaningfully resist a direct request from security forces or law enforcement. Microsoft says the program is government-approved. In a statement, Microsoft said that its personnel and contractors operate in a manner consistent with US Government requirements and processes. The companys global workers have no direct access to customer data or customer systems, the statement said. Escorts with the appropriate clearances and training provide direct support. These personnel are provided specific training on protecting sensitive data, preventing harm, and use of the specific commands/controls within the environment.Insight Global a contractor that provides digital escorts to Microsoft said it evaluates the technical capabilities of each resource throughout the interview process to ensure they possess the technical skills required for the job and provides training. Microsoft says it disclosed details of the escort program to the government. Former Pentagon officials said theyd never heard of it. Microsoft told ProPublica that it described the escort model in documents submitted to the government as part of cloud vendor authorization processes. Former defense and intelligence officials said in interviews that they had never heard of digital escorts. Even the Defense Departments IT agency didnt know about it until reached for comment by ProPublica.I probably should have known about this, said John Sherman, who was chief information officer for the Defense Department during the Biden administration. He said the system is a major security risk for the department and called for a thorough review by [the Defense Information Systems Agency], Cyber Command and other stakeholders that are involved in this.DISA said, Experts under escort supervision have no direct, hands-on access to government systems; but rather offer guidance and recommendations to authorized administrators who perform tasks. There were warnings early on about the risks. Multiple people raised concerns about the escort strategy over the years, including while it was still in development. A former Microsoft employee, who was involved in the companys cybersecurity strategy, told an executive they opposed the concept, viewing it as too risky from a security perspective. Around 2016, Microsoft engaged contacts from Lockheed Martin to hire escorts. The project manager says they told their counterpart at Microsoft they were concerned the escorts would not have the right eyes for the job given the relatively low pay.Microsoft did not respond to questions about these points. Other cloud providers wouldnt say if they also use escorts. Its unclear whether other major cloud service providers to the federal government also use digital escorts in tech support. Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud declined to comment on the record for this article. Oracle did not respond to requests for comment.0 Comments 0 Shares 3 Views 0 Reviews

GAYETY.COMHow Zendaya and Cline Dion Helped Law Roach Change the Fashion Game on His Own TermsCelebrity stylist Law Roach isnt just known for crafting show-stopping red carpet looks, hes a behind-the-scenes force whose loyalty, vision, and emotional intelligence have reshaped what fashion partnerships can look like.In a recent episode of the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, Roach reflected on two of his most iconic collaborators: Zendaya, who elevated his name alongside hers, and Cline Dion, who literally googled him after admiring his work.A Stylist Who Got Googled by Cline DionBefore their 2016 fashion renaissance, Dion came across Roachs work with Zendaya and saw something special. She liked that [Zendayas style] had some sophistication to it, and she liked it, so she Googled me, Roach recalled in an interview with People. She sought me out, which is really humbling. I mean, Cline is an icon. That simple search led to a full-blown partnership that shook the fashion world. Roach described how Dion leaned into bold fashion moments, showing a new side of herself at a time when many had written her off. When I first started working with Cline, it was my mission to show people how cool she was and how she was younger than we all thought, he told Keke Palmer. People thought she was 60 already because we grew up with her our whole lives. For Roach, helping Dion step into this next chapter wasnt just about clothes, it was about joy. Im here almost every day and it makes me so happy to see her so happy, he told People. If I had a small piece of that with the clothes and the fittings and the shoes and the bags, then I am overjoyed.Zendaya: A True Ride-or-DieOf course, before Dion, there was Zendaya. And she didnt just work with Roach, she went to bat for him.She said, Every step of the way, Im taking you with me, Roach told Palmer. When she gained control of her career, she made sure she advocated for me in those rooms.Roach went on to describe moments where Zendaya turned down massive opportunities if Roach wasnt included. When you have someone thats a partner for you and thats willing to walk away from millions of dollars to make sure that you get your share its incredible, he said. That kind of loyalty is rare, and its clear Roach doesnt take it for granted. From Retirement to Revival (One Night Only)In 2023, Roach shocked the fashion world by announcing his retirement. But his sabbatical was short-lived, he returned in early 2024 for one dazzling moment: dressing Cline Dion for the Grammys. The singer, who had been out of the public eye following her 2022 diagnosis of stiff person syndrome (SPS), made a triumphant return in a pleated blush pink gown, a mustard Valentino coat, and enough diamonds to stop traffic. She presented Album of the Year to Taylor Swift to a roaring standing ovation, and Roach was behind the look.To mark the occasion, he posted a video on Instagram of a name tag that read: Hello I am UNRETIRED, captioning it, One nite only!!!!!What Comes Next?In 2025, Roach re-entered the scene more selectively, now styling rising star Ryan Destiny. He also hinted that personal friction with a past client, along with burnout, contributed to his original decision to retire.Still, the stylist remains focused on intention over hype. I had to create a blueprint and a plan to change peoples perception of who [Cline] was as an artist, as a woman, as a person, he said. Not change people, just elevate them.Zendaya helped elevate him. Cline trusted him to elevate her. And in turn, Law Roach has transformed what it means to be a stylistnot just a curator of fashion, but an architect of legacy.Source0 Comments 0 Shares 3 Views 0 Reviews
